WCW 91 Figures that were never produced

I've seen all of those except the Ricky Morton one. I can't imagine why they would make one of those, though that company was never known for making any sense.

El Gigante, Dustin Rhodes, Big Josh and The Freebirds were all released overseas (England mostly, IIRC). We actually had an El Gigante mint in the box (stored in a case) at work for a while a few years back before putting it up on Ebay.

I swear I have that Sting one.

I have that one too. He's in the exact same pose and everything, except he's wearing blue pants and black boots instead of the black and yellow he's wearing in the pic.

Man, the Freebirds sure looked stupid with face paint on.

I thought I remember seeing a Bobby Eaton prototype somewhere, too, but I could be wrong.

As far as the Sting figure, that's just a re-paint of the one that got released in the US (blue pants). I had Sting, Sid Vicious, and Arn Anderson, personally. My mom wasn't big on me owning a lot of wrestling figures :P The only other figure I ever had as a kid was the WWF Hasbro Jimmy Snuka figure, with that ridiculous "jumping" action.

Did anyone else have the old WCW trading cards? I just got home from college the other day, and I was in my old bedroom. Cleaning out my dresser, I noticed I still had a few. Wow, I really got a bang out of looking at those crappy cards and all. That's the thing about me. Sometimes I get a bang out of the dumbest things. I really do.

Those cards were awful and just showed how lame WCW was in the early 90s.

The WWF cards from '94 or so were fucking awesome though.

I used to have a few packs. I have a few cards right now that I found somewhere, its a couple of steiners cards like 2 or 3.

and the morton figure is cuz Morton had tunred heel and joined the York Foundation as Richard Morton and he wrestled as a singles guy mostly. Yet he kept the same look.

actually those figures dont look too bad

That's probably true, because I have Gigante, Rhodes and The Freebirds lying around somewhere gathering dust. I don't remember ever seeing a Big Josh one though. Along with that Sting, but in a really ghey looking jacket. And Pillman, Steiners, Arn, Flair, Sid, Windham and one that I think is Tom Zenk. Why? Beats me.

Most of those figures were part of the UK-only line released in 1991. Although there were many exclusives contained, there were as many repaints of the figures we got here in 1990. Of the ones pictured, a couple are prototypes that never made it into production. However, there are a few floating out there. Probably the best wrestling-related site I've ever seen features a collection from an overseas couple that has to be seen to be believed. Their site, wrestlingcollection.com will make even non wrestling-toy fans do a double take. Here's an image containing the WCW prototypes. I've sold to them a couple of times on eBay and going by their extensive site, it's obvious their goal is to get any and all wrestling-related figures. Beautiful collection and setup.
