Dark match

Eric The Idol Stevens (?) beat Scotty 2 Hotty - simple dark match. Stevens had two women.

Velocity

Simon Dean beat Brian Kendrick. Said to be a pretty entertaining match.

Paul Birchelle beat a local jobber. He did a move that was like a backwards Canadian Destroyer from the Flatliner promotion.

Jamie Noble beat Paul London in a really good match.

LOD beat Nunzio and Vito

Smackdown

Backstage segment with Booker T and Benoit and Booker T was in crutches. Booker was complaining that the series should end and he should win for having the higher score. Teddy Long says he has to forfeit the match and give Booker the win. Booker then wanted a substitute, so Teddy Long said OK.

Matt Hardy beat JBL via countout when The Boogeyman came and stalked JBL and JBL ran through the crowd. This was said to be not a very good match.

Mexicools beat the Dicks.

Another video segment with Orlando Jordan volunteering to be the substitute, and Booker and Sharmell laughed at him, knowing that he'd tap to Benoit again. Orlando said he would remember that.

Next was a press conference by Melina with a podem and fake reporters. She was upset about what happened with Batista and she was gonna for sexual harrasement. It was said to be really dumb and went on way too long. It got the most heat of the night, but probably not for good reasons.

Booker approached Orton to be the substitute and end the year on a high note, and Orton agrees.

Benoit vs. Orton. Booker and Sharmell did commentary. Pretty long match and mostly scentific. Orton worked over Benoit's arm for most of the match. Benoit did the three amigos at one point. Benoit got Orton in the crossface, but then Sharmell hit Benoit with one of Booker's crutches, not realizing that she accidentally gave Benoit the win via DQ. Booker yelled at her after the match. Benoit was watching them, and then turned around into an RKO.

Kid Kash had an interview segment with Funaki. Kash was asking Funaki if there were any American cruiserweights. He then bad mouthed Mexicans. Kash said he was the best cruiserweight champion ever. Kash attacked Funaki and gave him a brainbuster on the platform.

Bobby Lashley beat Sylvan by countout when Sylvan ran off to protect his face. Lashley has pyro now.

Video segment for the return of FIT FINLEY.

Main event was MNM regaining the tag titles from Batista and Rey Mysterio. MNM worked on Rey's knee most of the time. Batista got the hot tag and was about to win the match when Mark Henry attacked Batista and MNM got the pin. The show ended with Melina holding up Henry's arm.

After the show, Batista and Mysterio did some poses.

Wrestlezone (hope they are legit, looks like they are)

The C4?

Sounds like it.

Dude, FIT FINLEY returns. I want him and Regal stiffing the everloving shit out of each other STAT. Knowing the writers though, we'll get those two and Burchill teaming up to form an evil UK team.

And...I guess MNM and Mexicools are back on for the belts now?

All in all, I guess I'll watch it. I'm not enthused about JBL and Boogeyman meeting up though.

That's not actually a bad idea. I'd like to see this team.

I second that opinion.

Wow, the walking sack of shit is back for his very last run before his contract expires next year.

Reading the part about Mark Henry literally made me go "oh, no!" and this worst-case scenario feeling swept over me, and the room began to spin...

Fit Finlay, or Fit Finley? Either way, what the fuck. None of this makes any sense. They have Melina suing Batista and sending Mark Henry after him. Who the fuck does she think she is, Bobby Heenan with ass?

Oh, and JBL's power is apparently nonexistent, or he'd never get stuck with the fuckin' BOOGEYMAN. I actually have to type "boogeyman" and it be a real fucking wrestler. JBL has no stroke backstage, man. Something's up. He must be lined up for another run like 2004 again.

Did one of MNM really pin Batista?

And if MNM were getting the belts back, wouldn't it have made sense for them to lose to the Mexicools at the PPV to set up a tag title program?

Mark Henry? No thanks.

Orton goes from the main event to the midcard? If Orton is to get anything out of his feud with Undertaker, and if he is supposed to get the World title at WM, he should have cost Batista and Rey the tag titles and have Mark Henry come in and take advantage of the fallen Batista.

Wouldn't it make more sense for Booker T's replacement be Mark Henry, or for Henry to at least attack Benoit in some way at all.

Oh and for all the people who think this will be Mark's last run with the company before his contract ends... I just don't see it. I can see Vince letting his ego get in the way and re-signing Henry for a few more years to try and prove that he wasn't a failure.

Bring on Batista vs. Mark Henry for the World Heavyweight Title and JBL vs. Boogeyman at the Royal Rumble

Gag me.

You actually think WWE remembers that Benoit was the one who took Henry out in 2004?

Orton+MNM would make more sense. Orton with Melina would give Orton some heat and I'm sure Daddy Orton would be great with Nitro and Mercury in backstage skits.

FIT FINLAY?!

Finlay hasn't wrestled at a decent level since his 1997 TV Title run. The guy was a good hand in the ring, but that was almost a decade ago. This is one of the most mind-numbingly idiotic things I have ever read.

Well, I'm sure he'll play more of a third wheel/mentor type player with Regal and Burchill. It's hardly offensive that Finlay would return.

I was actually at this show tonight as well, and those results are all correct, I was shocked as everyone else to see Mark Henry interfere and Batista take the pinfall. The Velocity stuff was outstandign as usual, until the LOD nonsense anyway. Even Mexicools vs The Dicks, Benoit vs Orton, and the ME were all very good matches. The stuff with Melina though was just rediculous. Boogeyman got easily the second loudest pop of the night behind Batista, so take that for what you will.

Batista/Mark Henry? WHAT?!

The Return of Fit Finley? WHAT?!

Agreed

Henry vs Batista main event at NWO!!!

I have no doubt in my mind that would pull the lowest buyrate ever.

Plus I'm pissed cuz I wanted Mysterio to lose the titles for the team, then Batista turn on him.

Maybe Mark Henry is to Batista what Hardcore Holly was to Brock Lesnar in late 03/early 04...minus the neck injury.

Oh worst. He'll be to what Big Show was to Brock Lesnar. Just without the surprisingly good matches.

Mark Henry = Transitional champion of early 2006.

Dude, if they put the fucking belt on Mark Henry that is the day I never watch wrestling again.

I warned everyone back when that Austin/Coach debacle went down. I said it made no sense for them to bother bringing Henry back with less than a year left on his contract, and that if they did they might feel obligated to sign him again. Whereas if they just kept him on the shelf he'd be quietly released next year.

This sounds really, really bad.

MELINA'S STATEMENT

December 28, 2005

Last night at the SmackDown television taping in Uncasville, Conn., a tearful Melina, with her attorney by her side, gave the following statement:

"First off, I just want to say this subjected matter is of an adult nature. This isn’t easy for me. However, as a role model for young women, I have no choice but to somehow summon the courage to do what’s right. Not just for me, but for all the other women who have been in this position. The truth is, I was recently the victim. Victim of a sexual predator. A man who you all know as … Batista.

I admit to an innocent flirtation with Batista. But that innocent flirtation soon turned into something abhorrent. I told Batista to STOP, but he didn’t! He used his power and influence as World Champion and forced me into having sexual relations. (Please, bear with me), Batista’s public image is that of a suave, sophisticated individual. But I know better. There is a side to Batista you all don’t know. A man who will stop at nothing to get what he wants … regardless of who he hurts.

Well this time, Batista has gone too far. Batista, my body is MY TEMPLE. My body is NOT yours for the taking. You had NO RIGHT to do what you did to me. Every time I close my eyes, I am … I am haunted. Haunted by the image of Batista with that smirk on his face. IT is an image that I will carry with me the rest of my life. I’m … I’m scarred.

Well I refuse to play the victim any longer. In order to ensure this horrific act does not happen to other women, I have decided to take a STAND. I have filed the necessary legal papers and at this time I am here to announce that I will be officially suing one Dave Batista. Suing him for sexual harassment."

Yeah, and if people thought that the Canadian Destroyer required some suspension of disbelief, then I have no idea what they'll make of the C4. It's still fucking cool, though.

Dude, FIT FINLEY returns. I want him and Regal stiffing the everloving shit out of each other STAT.

It definitely wouldn't be a technical classic, but it'd be pretty entertaining.
