"Could care less" means that there is already some level of caring being done, which you could do less than if you wanted. Do you use "literally" to mean "figuratively" too? Actually, "could care less" implies that he could indeed care less, but that it would be difficult. I'm pretty sure that it's still correct, if a little less intuitive than the preferred form. It doesn't imply any difficulty. I could care less about the Chicago Cubs. I could care less about macaroni. Both statements are true. I really like the Cubs a lot. I prefer my macaroni be served with tuna if possible. It's just different degrees of care. We got every right to be bitter as Browns fans. Ideally, I'd like to see the Steelers win the AFC Title in a classic against Denver only to get anal raped in the Super Bowl 62-0. But that's just me. He's the fattest runningback I've ever seen step onto a football field and all he's good for nowadays is 50 yards. Denver and Pittsburgh will be very interesting. They both have solid, reliable quarterbacks, fast defenses, great running games, and good receiving corps (with a Pro Bowl receiver for each; Ward/Smith). One of the most unique things about Jerome Bettis is how quick and agile he is for a big guy. Let's face it, no matter how muscular you are, if you're 5'10", 5'11" and over 250 pounds, you're going to have a bit of a belly. Guy's listed at 260 but is actually probably around 280, and he can move.. I bet he can still go out there and pick up 100 yards, but his body has taken a pounding with the way he plays. Power running backs rarely, if ever, have lasted as long as he has. To prove a point, he rushed for over 100 yards and two TD's against Chicago's defense earlier this year, in the only game where he was really the featured back. Also, the closer it's getting to gametime, the more I'm starting to feel as if Seattle might make it past Carolina. I still think Pittsburgh beats Denver, though. Carolina 27 Seattle 14 - I don't think Alexander has a big game, and Steve Smith STILL catches 9 or 10 balls for 120-150 yards and scores 2 TDs, one on a long pass (30+ yards) and one on an end around or a reverse.
