Smackdown Spoilers for the Febuary 3rd Show

Recommended Posts

Found this at the wrestlecrap boards via a poster. Sounds sadly legit.

Rey starts out with a promo and of course Eddie is mentioned RKO comes out adn says ray cant beat me and I dont know why you bother looking up cuz Eddie isnt in Heaven.....Eddie is in hell. Rey nutshots him and refs break it up

The Juniors are back I went adn got food so I cant tell ya who won some guy whose name sounds like suitcase wins.

Kennedy is in a backstage segment with Benoit not much happens though

Benoit beat Finley by DQ

Regal/Burchill have a segment in the back where they announce they are no longer tagging and they discuss thier backgrounds Burchill apparently comes from a long line of pirates and I guess is going to be a british pirate soon

Lashley beat the dicks and gets a closeline form hell by JBL for his troubles

Undertaker & Angle have a confrontation.

Mark Henry/RKO beat Angle/rey after the match Rey/RKO agree to a match (i believe at no way out) and RKO says you have as much a chance of beating me as Eddie has of coming back to life.

EDIT: Apparently the Boogeyman shows up at some point in a backstage segment to scare Booker and Sharmell.

What the fuck? I cannot see how that sounds legit. I can understand HHH making a little sly comment at the RR press conference to get over the Rey-HHH storyline in the RR match, but that shit Orton is saying is going WAY too far. I can't imagine those being the real spoilers.

Orton would be the kind of guy I'd expect to see go to Eddie's "grave" and take a leak on it as an angle, so this is pretty tame from him.

Just like Randy driving Eddie's car into the wall and blowing it up was "too far"?

Eddie dying is officially the worst thing to happen to Rey's career. That shit is going to stay with him until he retires. I'm looking forward to the angle where Rey gets possesed by Eddy's spirit ala Kenny and Cartman.

It's the best and worst thing to happen to Chavo. Kept him employed for another 6 months but also made him realize he's not even good enough to get cheap babyface heat and once the Eddie stuff finally goes away, he's gone.

You know they could do an angle at NWO where Orton just completely beats the fucking shit out of Rey. The WM title shot doesn't even have to be on the line, just have it be a normal match. RKO "injures" Mysterio so bad that Rey can't make it to WM so Orton is named the next number one contender since he was the runner-up in the Rumble. That or they can do a battle royal on the SD following NWO where Orton wins anyway to face Angle.

Do an angle where Rey begins to grow suspicious that Eddy's death was due to foul play and begins a Foley/Austin-esque investigation into who killed his friend Eddy. Bring in Marg Helgenberger in character as Catherine Willows and have Benoit play a grizzled, drunk, down-on-his-luck Private Investigator.

And then we found out that Eddie didn't really die but, he just faked his death. He did it to fool the mob, who he has some big debts to, and to collect the insurance money so him and his family can start a new life.

Or better yet we have a new higher power angle on SD and the Higher Power is.....Eddie.

"IT WAS ME ESSA. IT WAS ME ALL ALONG HOMES!!"

Cole: What the hell is going on??

About the CW championship - apparently Helms is defending it next week on SD. Also, Orton/Rey at NWO is for the title shot, and Finlay was Booker T's replacement against Benoit. (This is according to Insider.)

Also, at some point MNM beat the Mexicools in a title match.

EDIT: see below.

More detailed spoilers from Pro Wrestling Insider

Smackdown started with Teddy Long coming to the ring and saying that at The No Way Out PPV, The Undertaker will face Kurt Angle for the title. Teddy then calls out the winner of the Royal Rumble Rey Mysterio. Mysterio was talking about how Eddie Guerrero pulled a funny one on him for giving him the # 2 entry when Randy Orton comes out. Orton challenges him for the # 1 Contendership at No Way Out. Orton was rippig into Eddie, saying that Eddie didn't go to heaven and that he was in hell, which led to Rey and Orton brawling.

*The Mexicools vs, MNM for the WWE Tag Team titles: Pretty good match with the ending coming with Melina hitting Super Crazy when he was on the top rope with her shoe.

*Booker T was scheduled to defend the United States title against Benoit but said he was to hurt to fight and Teddy Long told him he would have to find a replacement and if the replacement lost he would lose the belt too.

*JBL came out and cut a promo of how he is a wrestling God and stuck around for the next match...

*Lashley vs. The Dicks: Quick squash by Lashley pinned one of the Ddicks after a dominator. After the match, JBL hits Lashley with the clothesline from hell.

*The Undertaker came out for a promo saying how he would win the world heavyweight championship at No Way Out. Kurt Angle comes out and says there was no chance he would beat him. Taker tells him he will RIP at No way Out and then. On TV, he is supposed to "disappear" but live, it was funny as he just ran from the ring and went under the apron.

*Sharmell and Booker come out and say there replacement for the match against Benoit is....

*Finlay vs. Chris Benoit: Nice stiff match between the two...the chops sounded brutal. Benoit won by DQ when Sharmell came in and hit him with one of Booker T's crutches. Finlay and Booker rough up Benoit after the match.

*They announce that next week, Gregory Helms will defend the Cruiserweight title against Nunzio.

*Booker T and Sharmell were celebrating in the back when the Boogeyman shows up behind them and says he's coming to get them and eats worms as they run away.

*There is a segment with Palmer Canon talking about how William Regal and Paul Burchill no longer want to be Tag Team partners but I couldn't hear it that well.

*Main Event: Kurt Angle and Rey Mysterio vs. Mark Henry and Randy Orton: Decent match, ended with Angle chasing Daivari through the crowd and Orton pinning Rey with a rollup. After the match Orton says he told Rey he could beat him and that his win at the Rumble was a fluke and Rey says in memory of Eddie he will put his shot at the title on the line at No Way Out against Orton.

So Benoit vs. Finlay gets ignored thus far?

I was going to say how with Benoit, Booker, and Finlay all involved in the mid-card title scene, that we've evidently gone back in time to WCW circa 1998, but I wasl mystified of the cheap heat tactics that apparently Orton so desperately needs at this point.

I love how Palmer Canon and the midgets suddenly came back after disappearing for no reason.

WWE really needs to chill out on the Eddie references. Having Orton go out there and say, "Eddie's in hell" and "You have as much of a chance of beating me as Eddie does of coming back to life" is really offensive and tasteless. I wouldn't be surprised if Vickie Guerrero goes to Vince McMahon and asks him to cool it. I would. I understand Orton is just doing what he's told, but he really needs to put his foot down on some of this stuff. And Rey should be totally ashamed of himself for taking part in this crap. I can live with Rey mentioning Eddie often because they were best friends, but when you have wrestlers suddenly insulting Eddie when they were crying their eyes out over him 2 months ago, it looks incredibly stupid.

I have no idea what the fuck WWE is thinking going forward with Angle vs. Orton. Orton is a heatless wonder now. No one gives a fuck about him anymore, especially since UT obliterated him and Benoit kicked the shit out of him the past two months. The crowd is red hot for Rey, always has been. Even more now that he's getting the Eddie sympathy heat going. Orton vs. Angle may be the lamest WM main event since UT vs. Sid. If Rey ends up losing his title shot, WWE can forget me ordering WM22 and me ever ordering another Royal Rumble. HHH vs. Cena and Orton vs. Angle = me keeping my $50.

And how stupid is Rey for even putting his title shot up anyways?

It was bad enough that there were constant mentions of Eddie Guerrero throughout the Royal Rumble but this Smackdown takes the fucking cake, the crumbs and the plate.

I couldn't stand Rey thinking Eddie was messing with him when he picked a pre-determined number and then the constant references during the match. But now, I we have to put up with it for another month before Rey loses and then it's all been for nothing. Real classy WWE. I'm half expecting the prediction of Orton to piss on Eddie's grave to come true.

Yeah, acting like Eddie is suddenly God now and controls everything. And it looks even more stupid since Chavo was eliminated in like 50 seconds.

Guest Dr Stupid

The one good thing about Rey jobbing to Orton at NWO is it means (i'm hoping) the Eddie exploitation will end. Then we can have Rey make it back into the main event scene sometime after WM agianst either Angle or Orton, only without riding on Eddie pops.

there's nothing wrong with dedicating shit to Eddie, the WWE has just been going all out over the top with it, like they usually do. I wouldn't say Rey is always "riding on Eddie pops", dude's been over forever, even when Eddie was alive.
