Guest Tuxedo Mask Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 I really don't understand this network. It's supposed to be a country music station, but sometimes they show actual TV shows, like Reba or Dukes of Hazard. Those make sense to a country station. Then they started showing Rosanne. That didn't make sense but it's funny so whatever. Last night I saw on the TV guide channel that Married with Children was on at 1:30am, much to my surprise. It appeared to be the first episode, which is much funnier than I remembered. I shouldn't complain (and I'm not) as MWC has all but vanished since 2000 in this market and I'm glad to see it again. But what do Rosanne or MWC have to do with country music? What crazy scheme is CMT hatching? Does this only affect the Corus-owned Canadian CMT? Are they only airing early seasons (anytime I see Rosanne it seems to be stuck in the first few seasons, much like when it aired on Prime).
Guest El Satanico Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 white trash and CMT...makes sense Take Dukes, Rosanne and MWC...add Titus, Mama's Family and King of The Hill...call it the White Trash Comedy Park
Hawk 34 Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 Don't forget Jeff Foxworthy Show, According to Jim and Rodney.
Dr. Zaius Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 Don't forget Jeff Foxworthy Show, According to Jim and Rodney. According to Jim?
Hawk 34 Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 Don't forget Jeff Foxworthy Show, According to Jim and Rodney. According to Jim? I don't know, I always saw it as a modern version of Roseanne but completely devoid of any quality in comparisson to Roseanne.
Guest El Satanico Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 Don't forget Jeff Foxworthy Show, According to Jim and Rodney. I was trying to keep it as a group of shows, that I would consider watching.
snuffbox Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 I thought Married/Children was on FX?
St. Gabe Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 The dude in charge of programming there is a real son of a bitch named Evan kroft. He went to High School in the town I live now, and actually programmed country radio in Chicago for a short time. He's young, say 25-27 and just a real class A dickhole. Not sure if Viacom is pulling the strings or what, but its not a good way that they are going
Guest El Satanico Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 More bland pop country being taken off the air is a good thing. They should turn Wednesdays into White Trash Wednesday.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 Married With Children is on several stations in my area. And don't be hating Mama's Family.
Scroby Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 You know I started wondering what was going on with that channel when I saw "Hogan Knows Best" airing on it.
Guest El Satanico Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 don't be hating Mama's Family. I wouldn't think of it. It's just a very White Trashcentric show
razazteca Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 CMT needs reruns of Sally Jesse Raphael, Maury Povich, and Jerry Springer.
AndrewTS Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 white trash and CMT...makes sense Take Dukes, Rosanne and MWC...add Titus, Mama's Family and King of The Hill...call it the White Trash Comedy Park Titus and MwC are actually funny, though. And KotH is good, but totally wore out its welcome on me about 100 episodes ago. Married With Children is on several stations in my area. kkk and I are both in the W. PA area, and I can attest to that. At last count: UPN, WB, FX, WNPA and I guess now CMT have all been showing it recently.
Star Ocean 3 Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 I'm curious as to how such a horrible, offensive term like "white trash" became universally acceptable.
BruiserKC Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 Roseanne is a blue-collar show...more fitted for the country crowd. What makes no sense is running the Miss America Pageant 50 million times.
Guest El Satanico Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 I meant no insult to any of the shows I mentioned. I was listing shows I would actually watch.
the max Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 I enjoyed the Hogan Knows Best mini-marathon. It was funnier than I anticipated.
genius33 Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 don't forget the miss america pageant!!!
razazteca Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 I'm curious as to how such a horrible, offensive term like "white trash" became universally acceptable. white trash > hill billy > cracker
DrVenkman PhD Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 The Fox affiliate here (and by here, I mean across the river in another country) stopped showing it around 2000/2001 (dropped it from its after midnight syndicated comedy block, along with NewsRadio) and we don't get FX in Canada, so this is the first time in years the show has been on in my area. Sometimes a channel called CFMT (now OMNI 1) shows it, but it hasn't since the late 90s (maybe another early 00s run).
Star Ocean 3 Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 I'm curious as to how such a horrible, offensive term like "white trash" became universally acceptable. white trash > hill billy > cracker Well, that explains it.
