haws bah gawd 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2006 Stone Cold vs Mankind vs Triple H for the WWF Title Summerslam 1999 Austin's performance is visibly starting to suffer from his neck injury around this time, but HHH and Mankind bust their fucking asses to work a good match here. I miss HHH's "My Time" theme, but "King of Kings" is good enough. HHH's entrance without the water spit we're so used to is kind of odd, but the chainmail he wore was badass. IIRC, Stamp gets a little sassy in there not seeming to know when to put a halt on the offense and just let the Rougeaus kick his ass. Nothing too over the top but still noticeable. But oh well, if they did, cool. The week before Wrestlemania X-7, there was a fake Smackdown spoiler going around that said Austin hit the Rock Bottom on the Rock and even gave him the People's Elbow. I would've given my left nut for the hilarity of Austin doing the People's Elbow, but alas. The same fake spoiler (this should have really gave it away as fake, but I wanted to believe it so bad) had HBK returning as a heel to be in the corner of Vince McMahon for the match with Shane, but then Shane dropped his own bombshell by saying, "Vince, you may have the Heartbreak Kid in your corner, but I've got THE MAN in my corner, and YOU'RE NEXT!" Guest Mr. Adam Report post Posted May 6, 2006 Wasn't there some sort of really fucked up video at the end of the pre X-7 SmackDown as well? It ended with Austin storming off and cursing like crazy. The problem was it was all blepped with different noises each time. Seemed really weird especially as it was WWF.com's big build up video. Stone Cold helps Mankind win his first World Title. The Rock and Stone Cold vs nWo Part 1 Part 2 It's interesting to note that the interaction between Austin and Hogan is kept to a minimum. You can also kind of understand where Austin's frustration came from in mid-2002. Austin was made to look like a bitch in this match in particular.
