jwpeer 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2006 Why'd they take Cyr out just as he was hitting a groove, he was looking good, only had thrown like 15-20 pitches. Some odd decisions.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2006 Jeter would have gotten that. Is Damon going to take off his helmet everytime he scores like he did in Boston? Because that crap was annoying.
jwpeer 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2006 Gagne should be coming in and this game would be over right now. kinda sucks ofr Canada that he can't play, he's such a huge difference maker.

Guest StylesMark Report post Posted March 9, 2006 At least the USA/Canada game was damn interesting.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted March 9, 2006 Good to see the US lose. But, the US virtually locked their spot in the 2nd round by coming back. The only way they'd be out is if Mexico beats Canada by 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1. Very unlikely.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 Let me lay out the scenarios here. Runs Allowed over 9 innings is the tiebreaker. The US has allowed eight runs, compared to 14 for Canada. Mexico has allowed two runs so far in one game. That gives Mexico and the US an advantage in the tiebreaker should all three teams go 2-1. In order for that to happen, Mexico would have to beat Canada on Friday. Oddly, unless South Africa pulls an upset, Canada is facing an elimination game. Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted March 9, 2006 Wrong, Alan. It's runs allowed over 9 innings against the teams you're tied with. Thus, all the games with South Africa don't count towards it. Unless they win both games.

Zetterberg is God 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 This was huge for Canada after having their confidence shaken against the South Africans. The sad part about it is that this win will do absolutely nothing for baseball in this country. Even so, a colossal upset and hopefully the momentum can carry over to the game versus Mexico. EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 Ok, I missed that the first time around the tiebreaking rules. My apologies. It remains the same deal for Mexico. If they beat Canada, they are in. It isn't a 100% elimination game for Canada, but there is a strong chance a loss could still send them home.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 Canada would have to lose 1-0 to eliminate the Americans through a tiebreaker. Of course, South Africa is hanging in against Mexico (5-3 MEX after 4), so that whole scenario may possibly not even come about.
