Booker T doesn't have good matches. Ever.

Booker had a good six onth run with Angle Benoit and Christian beore the Boogey nonsense.

Booker T stopped being good when he stopped caring back around his WM19 burial...his outside of the ring antics are fantastic, but unless he gets motivated again, give me Orton anyday.

I do like JBL, but I'd still prefer an Orton match...both guys need someone else to carry them, Orton's carry jobs just look better...this is all IMO, of course!

Bullshit. His matches with Christian were almost as boring as his matches with Cena. His matches against Benoit just reminded everyone how bad he is now compared to how he was in WCW. And I don't even remember his matches against Angle.

Booker has been so plauged with injuries, that even if he was motivated he wouldn't be at the level he was at 1998-2000. He is still a good heel and is much better at it (be it a case of booking or not) and he is a much more intriguing character these days, even if he is supposed to be a comedy heel.

Booker, like many WCW guys, was unable to adjust to the WWE style. The lone exception to that seems to be Rey, who works the WWE style to perfection and has had some off the best matches of his career using it.

Benoit and Eddie, adjusted well enough.

Some more information on the Randy Orton situation has come out. First of all, it has nothing to do with the baseline drug testing that was recently administered. Apparently Orton has been having issues since January, when Kurt Angle was brought to Smackdown. There have been a number of disciplinary problems since then that have been kept inside the company. During the WrestleMania weekend, he flagrantly defied the dress code. All of these issues have been building, causing a lot of heat with the locker room. It looks like this all came to a climax and WWE felt that they had no choice but to discipline him.

So it's because he didn't wear slacks , that he's getting benched? I'll take it.

IIRC, wasn't Joey Mercury wearing a t-shirt at the HOF ceremony?

There were a few tidbits in the recent PWInsider audio, but nothing all that much that we don't already know:

-This has nothing to do with anything that happened at the WrestleMania after party.

-It isn't really because of a single thing. Instead, it's been building for a very song time, and something that took place recently was enough to finally push them over the edge to do something about it.

-They speculate that the reason he's still on TV is because they might be forcing him to still show up and perform on the TV shows, but they are not paying him for his appearances or for any of his merchandise sales. Other than the TV shows, they are keeping him off the road. That is how it used to be done when people would get in trouble back when they first had the drug testing.

Alvarez says its been brewing for a while and apparently he flipped his shit when they gave Angle the belt in January.

If they knew he was a problem all along, they should have really hurt him and cut him from WM. He wasn't needed. Angle/Mysterio was all that was required.

That's true, but I think they wanted to have Rey pin Orton instead of Angle:

1) It just fit the storyline they built up.

2) Perhaps they did that to build up Angle/Mysterio more, and Angle could say that, once again, he lost a major title on WrestleMania without being pinned or giving up.

Now if you mean that they should have made Orton work without getting the WM payment, then I'd have no problem with that at all. :)

What other major title? The other two were the Euro and IC belts. :) I guess actually the IC belt was in decent shape then.

I've always thought the dress code was ridiculous. Those men and woman bust their asses in the ring all year long and have to wear dress clothes. It's uncomfortable wearing a button up shirt, slacks, and a tie all the fucking time.

Yeah becaues you know Orton was more deserving of the title than Angle was.

I dont think you have to wear a tie. Just a nice shirt, pants and possibly a jacket. Better than looking like a slob.

Most professional jobs require that as well. Which is ironic that a circus promotion like WWE would have such a issue with looking "professional".

Some sports teams require it as well.Probably more of what they're shooting for.

Yeah, I agree with DY. It's not like it's an overly strict dress code, and it makes sense, they ARE employees of the company and thus represent the WWE when traveling or in public. For some people (e.g. Austin, or Murdoch, or someone like Kane) it'd make sense to keep them in 'character' but for the most part, everyone knows that Austin, or Murdoch, or someone like Kane is a real person playing that character.

It's no worse than the Yankees or D-backs not being allowed to sport facial hair or the NBA'ers having to dress in suits & whatnot.

Considering they moved Angle from Raw, simply to give him the title, Orton does have a point.

For as much shit as Orton takes for "constantly being pushed", WWE definitely has not gone completely forward in making him a true strong title holder.

Eh. I understand the NBA and MLB enforcing such a rule, but not wrestling. That's just ridiculous to me.

How exactly did Orton deserve the title? From what I've heard, the plan wasn't even to give it to him. The day Eddie died he was going to get the strap. With all of Angle's hard work, he was the most deserving guy in the company.

Orton, figured by process of elimination (Eddie=dead, Batista=injured) that he was the only guy left standing. WWE remembered that Angle was still there and dragged him out of the #4 heel spot on Raw to be the #1 face on Smackdown.

Orton, has probably been given the "you are going to get a run" many times over the last 2 years and it hasn't happened aside from his cup of coffee in 2004. He, got frustrated and acted like a spoiled kid again.

For wrestling, I could see a dress code for Main Eventers and Champions. Guys who have ME'd in the last several years. You figure WWE pushes you on television as a star, the least you could do is present yourself as such.

As for low/midcard guys, it shouldn't really matter. My perception of Joey Mercury doesn't change if he's in public in a suit or t-shirt. However, if you are the champ, you should play the part and dress it as well. You don't want to be like Christian over at TNA dressing like some guy in the front row of the show. That really hurts him. Being champ should give off the aura that you make more money and are now a top dog and big deal.

Oh I get how Orton would be pissed, but that still doesn't make him deserving, and I thought someone here was trying to say that. If anything WWE was smart by giving it to Angle instead of putting it on Orton just becuase no one else was left.

This same thing is going to happen to Edge, just you watch.

Considering he's been pushed strongly forever and STILL isn't over, what more can they do? Even if he got the HHH treatment people still wouldn't give a shit about him. It's Randy's fault that only gays and women don't fall asleep when he's out there busting out the chinlock or the same promo he's been cutting for the last few years.
