vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2006 Dammit. Now it's 6-2 with a man on 3rd and no outs. I guess Turnbow might not be coming in. I'm glad that I also have Capuano on my fantasy team...
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2006 7-2, and looks like Turnbow will be getting another save.
vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2006 Well, the 'Stros lost, but Capuano got me mad fantasy points, so I'm torn. Oh well, the Bucs come in over the weekend, so hopefully the 'Stros can make short work of em and build on their division lead before the schedule gets tough. Guest Felonies! Report post Posted April 20, 2006 Well, the 'Stros lost, but Capuano got me mad fantasy points, so I'm torn. That's why I can't do fantasy baseball. Such a conflict of interest. "YEAH! PUJOLS!" "...what" "Oh, he's on my fantasy team." By the way, Cubs and Dodgers are tied at 2. There must be a lot of Cub fans in LA, because the crowd noise is very confusing. That happened with my brother the other nite when we were at the 'Stros-Brewers game. He has both Matt Wise and Jason Lane on his team, so he was doing a weird combination of cheering and going "Oh shit!" when Lane went deep on him.

C Dubya 04 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2006 So, can we finally start to put an end to the Bobby Abreu has inflated stats talk? Everyone who says this probably is so set in their ways that they don't pay attention to games like last night where he hit a huge 2 run homer to get the Phils back into the game, or his walkoff from the other week. Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2006 I'll be attending tonight's Phils/Nats game. The last time I attended a game at Citizens Bank Park, Chase Utley cranked a HR that bounced off a little girl's head (on the fly) in the row in front of me. My buddy (whom I'm going with tonight, and whom I attended the last game with) was telling me Chase smacked another one into the seat in front of him during 1 of the exhibition games against Boston he went to, so apparently Utley has these seats dialed in. Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2006 I'm trying to figure out why Jason Kendall felt the need to swing at a 3-1 pitch with the bases loaded, down by one in the bottom of the ninth, especially when two of those runners were on base because of walks. Kismet 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2006 Tigers make a 9th inning comeback to win 4-3.In a 15 pitch at bat that ended up loading the bases, Brandon Inge did get the benefit on a 2-2 check swing that was pretty clearly a go around, but called ball. Little shakey in the bottom of the ninth as Detroit doesn't have a real closer, but all in all a good little birthday present to get home and catch the comeback. Bored 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2006 *sigh* I don't think the A's will ever be satisfied with getting off to a good start. Teased me with the 5-2 start but now have dropped 7 out of 9 with another 9th inning blown today. Bleh. Jason Kendall is burnt toast. He's got nothing left. I'm afraid the same about Frank Thomas. Ya he can still hit homeruns but his bat is sooooo sloooow now.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2006 Bedard is off to another hot start (4-0) and the Os are 10-7 after taking 2 of 3 from the Indians (like I said they would I hoped).. Now, I just cant wait for the weekend.

Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2006 The curse is still intact. It's nice to see that some things never change. Oh please don't start with the curse talk. Injuries are a part of the game. The Cubs are unlucky, but people are too quick to point to every downside being part of this "curse."

naiwf 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2006 Scott Kazmir is really, really good. I still rue the day we traded him for Victor Zambrano. Carlos would have been acceptable, but no, we ended up with the redheaded stepchild of Zambranos and Kazmir will likely be a multiple time All-Star years after Victor gets waived/retired. I have no clue what management was thinking on that one.

devo 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2006 Kazuo FUCKING Matsui! Inside the park home run with his first at bat. Third year in a row he's used his first at bat of the season to hit a HR.
Guest Monty Burns Report post Posted April 21, 2006 That was a tense 9th inning in the Detroit-Oakland game today. Good thing the Tigers won, wouldn't want Leyland to blow another gasket.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2006 Beltran Griffey Jr. seems to have hurt his hammy again after resting up for about 4 days. Maybe they need to send him to the guy who had to teach Reyes to run again.

What a clunker. Who was this Nats pitcher? His fastball was topping out at 85 mph, and the Phillies couldn't do crap.
Guest Felonies! Report post Posted April 21, 2006 Well, I guess this is gonna be a test of character for the rest of this team. Are Mabry, Barrett, Walker, Ramirez, Murton, and Jones gonna rise to the occasion and compensate for Lee's absence, or are they gonna throw up their hands and fold like a house of cards? Most likely the latter, I fear, especially if the change is Walker-to-1st-Neifi-to-2nd rather than Mabry-to-1st-Walker-stays. Gotta get Neifi some time, dude. Oh well. Let's hope he's back in six weeks. EDIT: "fold like a house of cards" is so a mixed metaphor. I don't give a shit. I'm mad.
Guest Felonies! Report post Posted April 21, 2006 OH, HOLY FUCKING SHIT, NO. Gammons says that Bill Wirtz is interested in buying the Cubs. This is about a hundred times more frightening than any injury you can imagine.
