I was thinking about who would be good in a modern day blaxploitation movie and the first name I thought of was Kanye West.

He's self absorbed enough and is probably just enough of a wooden actor to make it work.

Kanye West is...... The Son of Superfly

It wouldn't work. He's too much of an idiot, he wouldn't be able to see the humor in the film, he'd take it all too seriously.

Moving away from Blaxploitation for a second...

I'm looking for the name of a movie from India.

Don't know how hold it is.. either 80's or 90's...

It involves two different groups of kids going on a vacay to Europe to backpack around and all that jazz. The female's from a well-to-do family in England and has to convince her dad to let her go but he reluctantly does. Along the way, she meets a rougueish boy and winds up traveling along with him on the trip and the two begin to fall for each other but the trip winds up ending as she goes back and gets ready for a wedding while he goes to try and find her, only to find out about the wedding.

I think he winds up trying to win her over, pissing off her dad in the process.. but winds up winning her over or something.

I know it's a vague description, but from what a friend told me a few years ago, its apparently a well known Bollywood movie or somethin...

For some reason, I started watching old Ghostwriter clips on YouTube. I had forgotten that Samuel L. Jackson had played the black kid's (played by Sheldon Turnipseed, love that name) dad in a few episodes.

I went to a program to prepare kids for prep school (Prep for Prep) with Sheldon for a while. He was a pretty cool kid who was in my "unit" aka homeroom, until he left us to go into acting.

OK, so if they HAD to make a movie version of The A-Team, here's who I'd cast;

Gene Hackman as Hannibal (Might be a bit too old but I think he's in good enough shape to do a little bit of action)

George Clooney as Faceman

Terry Crews as B.A. Baracus

Will Ferrell as Murdock

--One of Kevin Nash's latest movies, called DOA, is about three woman martial artists who pose as hot bikini wearing volleyball players going into an island to enter the tournament. Jamie Presley (My Name is Earl) plays a woman wrestler as one of the three. Nash plays her father and he gets several lines in and he's very funny, particularly a scene where Nash is convinced his daughter is secretly a lesbian. Presley is in a bikini in almost every shot. It was scheduled for a December theatrical release, but it never happened. (thanks to Kerry Knowlton)

And replace 'Nam with Iraq

Yeah, I was gonna say have them be war criminals from The first Gulf War instead of 'Nam.

NewsRadio reunion! Andy Dick on ER, on screen w/ Maura Tierney!

I'd consider it more of a reunion with Dave Foley and Maura. Plus I'm never happy that Andy Dick is still getting work.

Went to see "Hot Fuzz" yesterday and it was a really good film. Perhaps not as good as "Shaun of the Dead" but it's very different film. At times the thing seems to be played really straight while other times it's just pure comedy. Anyway, the whole thing is really well done. It just reeks of the kind of film the Jerry Bruckheimer has been putting out for the last decade. It's got some great action scenes and stunts and even the editing is like your typical action film. And Timothy Dalton is awesome in it. Great stuff.

Why Super Mario Brothers (The Movie) is an underappreciated masterpiece

While I don't think it's a "masterpiece", it makes for an interesting read.

Or they can just take the cast from 3 Kings and somehow used that for the intro...I can totally see Spike Jonze as Murdock!

My Main Man.

Hmm, that's some pretty good casting.

I've always enjoyed Aaron Eckhart's work.

I've got a killer shark movie on my NetFlix queue starring Lou Diamond Phillips, Kristy Swanson, Coolio and Dennis Haskins. If you can get a better cast for a Sci Fi Channel Original, I haven't seen it.

John Rhys-Davies is my favorite Sci-Fi channel tv movie of the week actor.

Yea, the director (Joel Shumacher) is very hit or miss. He can surprise you at times (Phone Booth, Tigerland) but for the most part puts out pieces of shit (Batman Forever, & Robin, Bad Company). I didn't think the movie would be much but I knew Jim Carrey would be the hightlight.

Here's my "quickie" review of "Two Of A Kind" that introduced Harley Quinn into The Batman. Paul Dini is the writer of the episode and does a good job with what he has to work with.

Being a fan of Walch as Starfire on the Teen Titans show, I was curious as to how she'd adapt to voicing Harley who has/had quite a unique voice actor in Arleen Sorkin. Overall, I was very pleased with her "impression" of Sorkin and with the character overall.

I also liked the new take of pop TV psychologist but was disappointed at how quickly she was swayed into the Joker's arms.

I was kinda bugged by Joker owning the hyenas but... eh, Harley will make them her babies in due time :P Although I wish Batman had more speaking lines but you take what you can get, right?

Another tiny thing that bugged me was Walch's "anger" voice, which didn't seem to switch from Harley's normal voice as much as I would've liked (for comparison: listen to Harley in "Harlequinade" when she's gonna shoot Joker and the venom in her voice). An in-episode comparison could be her voice when Batman confronts her and Joker on the elevator. Maybe I'm being nit picky, but I was hoping for a bit more aggressiveness there.

This episode also had a lot of bombs, etc. going off (and a bit of a dark moment with them Jokerizing birds through birdseed), which I'm unsure if that's normal for the show or just because Dini wrote it.

The episode is up on YouTube for those curious (I managed to catch it this way 'cause I had no idea when it would air date wise).

Overall: It's Paul Dini writing a Harley related episode, so it's good. A few minor annoyances aside, a good episode, with Hynden Walch proving to be more than ready in filling the shoes of Arleen Sorkin. Many times during the episode, I almost forgot it wasn't Sorkin doing the voice acting, which is impressive.
