RepoMan Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 Another quirky show I rented, SCTV Network 90 Vol. 1. I'm downright shocked I haven't seen this show until now. It's like the missing link between Monty Python and SNL (Yes, I know it came after both). Some of the pop culture references are a bit too obscure even for me but I'm really digging most of it so far. I love Taxi Driver starring Gregory Peck. They used to show it on Comedy Central in the early to mid 90s. Good stuff.
razazteca Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 Her sister is Britney Spears so you know she will go crazy eventually and she encourages girls to use text message toys like Blackberry and Sidekicks! You don't want your youngsters begging you to buy those expensive toys think of the phone bills! I don't have any daughters, just a son; I think he just thinks she's cute. As to all the toys and whatnot, that's his mother's problem; he's not allowed to use that shit in my house. If your child is of elementary school age then you should restrict him to only the Disney Channel because Nickelodeon is more aimed for the middle to high school age fanbase. Or you can be safe and block out all channels but PBS or Animal Planet. Nickelodeon seems to think all of their programs should involve dating as the primary plot. Disney Channel goes the other route thinking that everybody should be a singer no matter what.
Mr. S£im Citrus Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 My son is ten; he stopped watching the Disney Channel some time last year. He's big into cartoons like Naruto and Ben 10, but he also likes that Naked Brothers show, as well as Ned's Declassified something-or-other.
razazteca Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 Ah yes mindless eyecandy of cartoon violence as the only solution to everything and Naked Brothers is a weird show indeed you got these kids running around worrying about getting paid and looking for groupies while that Ned show is the greatest thing since Clarissa Explains it All!
Hawk 34 Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 I watched The Mighty Ducks on demand a couple days ago and that movie just doesn't hold up which is sad because I loved the movie. Emilo will always be Gordon Bombay to me and that didn't change. It wasn't the change of age and time since I could go back and enjoy a good chunk of movies from my child hood right now but Mighty Ducks sadly isn't one of those. It reminded me that I hate when a character in a movie loses his appeal because of another movie/show they did. I saw Charlie and kept thinking "That guy got Joey Potter?".
Hank Kingsley Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 no shit! That looks amazing. EDIT: and naturally, the comments are just as good.
Black Lushus Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 Fred Williamson is not to be fucked with, folks.

Garth Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 I recently started watching Arrested Development. It never really got shown at a decent time time in the UK so I was unaware of it whilst it was still being made. I watched all three seasons in about 2 weeks. I've fallen in love with this show.
Hank Kingsley Posted May 4, 2007 Report Posted May 4, 2007 I ordered Boss Nigger off eBay, so I'll be sure to let everyone know how it is.

We accept you, one of us! Gooble Gobble! And the following YouTube videos might not belong here, but what the hell. They need to be seen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmJ6FDj9R1k
muzz Posted May 5, 2007 Report Posted May 5, 2007 I ordered Boss Nigger off eBay, so I'll be sure to let everyone know how it is. "I ordered Boss Nigger off eBay" is a quote I need to remember.
FroGG_NeaL Posted May 5, 2007 Report Posted May 5, 2007 I've been watching AD reruns too. I only caught the show a couple of times when it was still on. I see what all the fuss is about now. Brilliant show.
Guest Smues Posted May 5, 2007 Report Posted May 5, 2007 Rifftrax for Eragon comes out Wednesday, which sadly means now I have to spend more money on that piece of shit movie by buying the DVD.
Gary Floyd Posted May 7, 2007 Report Posted May 7, 2007 For those who haven't seen it yet, here's the intro to the ATHF movie. Probably the funniest intro of the year.
Epic Reine Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 I just saw "The Last Boy Scout" with Bruce Willis and Damon Wayans for the first time yesterday. It was a pretty cool movie but why exactly does it have such a following? Quentin Tarantino even said it was one of his favorites.
Black Lushus Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 not sure the following...I just like it because I'm a Bruce Willis fan and it's a fun little movie to watch on a lazy boring Sunday afternoon. It's the embodiment of 80s/early 90s action flicks up there with Commando, Tango & Cash, Running Man, etc. It's usually in the 7.50 or cheaper bin at Walmart and you really can't go wrong with it in your DVD collection.
RavishingRickRudo Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 I watched "The Unit" for the first time today. It didn't suck. I'm kinda interested in this storyline they are running with breaking the team up and putting them on unknown charges.
Hawk 34 Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 I watched "The Unit" for the first time today. It didn't suck. I'm kinda interested in this storyline they are running with breaking the team up and putting them on unknown charges. Bad timing. It's a good chance this show is done. It's a good show from the few episodes I've seen. More of a show that's better on DVD then it is as routine tv.
Ed Wood Caulfield Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 Two thumbs up... way the fuck up. And as a followup: Samuel L. Jackson should play God in a movie someday.
Spaceman Spiff Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 What the hell is this Mr. Brooks movie? A psychological thriller starring Kevin Costner, Demi Moore, and Dane Cook? Yeah, this sounds like a winner.
Hawk 34 Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 I think Cook figured if Kutcher could give it a shot in Butterfly Effect, he had a chance.
bob_barron Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 Choken- The Unit is most likely coming back Tuesday at 10. Mr. Brooks like awesome, the NY Times gave Dane Cook a rave review, which shocked me
Gary Floyd Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 Anchor Bay's released Box sets of Mario Bava and Alejandro Jodorowsky movies. I don't know which one to get first.
treble Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 I finally realized why I recognized the actor who played the cabbie on Without a Trace last night. Fuckin' BLT from Degrassi.
