Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2006 I think it's because Diego has never come off as anything but a complete retard when he opens his mouth.
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2006 MMAos strikes again as the wrestler somehow manages to outgrapple the BJJ master. Crazy.
randomguy 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2006 The problem with Gracie/Hughes is that Gracie is old and the rules have changed to move away from what worked for him. Gracie in his prime vs. Hughes along with the rules Gracie fought under might be interesting. This was not. Gracie has been average for a long time, he's just a jobber in the MMA world now. It was basically the same with Shamrock vs. Franklin. Shamrock in his prime might have been neat but Shamrock 5-10 years past his prime? Not so much.
Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2006 I want to see Josh Koschek fight Diego Sanchez again, I think Josh could beat him, I had him winning their fight on TUF. He's too cocky for his own good, I just want to see him laid out. Atleast when Tito is cocky, it is creative and fun. This guy is just clown. Remember when he said he wanted to fight Stephan Bonnar in the one episode of TUF 1? I would've hoped that went down just to see that little runt get knocked out by Bonnar. Lei Tong 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2006 Koscheck was impressive in the Diego fight, but I thought Diego clearly won it. Though, Koscheck could easily take a rematch nowadays, and possibly stop Deigo using nothing but legkicks.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2006 I noticed alot of celebrities at the show but the pair that made me do the double take was David Spade sitting next to Paris Hilton. ...which shows that just about anyone with a hint of fame has a chance with her. That's both interesting and scary. Karo would beat the fuck out of Diego.....and i'd love ever minute of it! I just want to see Karo and his judo back, period. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2006 He had a prelim fight at UFC 59 which was awesome mainly because he got mount and started beating the fuck out of this dude and the dude tapped out to strikes. I've been doing Judo for almost a year so I love to see Karo use his judo. I'm glad Diego finally shaved that whatever the fuck it is on his face off. I hate those half mustache things. One of the reasons I hate Diego isn't just his cockiness but the fact he sounds like a very bad pro wrestler during his pre-fight interviews. *in "scary" voice* "And when you open your eyes you'll see the nightmare and you'll know it's all over." I half expect him to scream about the little warriors in the sky or his pythons or whatever.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2006 If Diego started talking about all of his "Lil Nightmares" out in the crowd I'd probably have to start liking him.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2006 On WOL last night, Meltzer said it wasn't a sellout and there was a fair bit of papering as well. The commentary was very good, and I'd like the three-man team of Goldberg, Rogan and Couture to do at least the Ultimate Fight Nights, if not all their PPV's from now on. The main event, while not technically a great fight, was pure magic from a spectacle and emotion standpoint. It was surreal watching Hughes twist Gracie's arm to where it Gracie had to be in tremendous pain and yet Gracie didn't show it.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2006 I wish I had balls like Gracie. His facial expression never changed as Hughes twisted and yanked on his arm. That was awesome.
Guest Brian Report post Posted May 29, 2006 I just noticed Sylvia was wearing his belt out there while doing the commentary. Might as well get as much mileage out of it as he can. BTW, does LA ever have good crowds?
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2006 Which match did TIMMAY~! do commentary on? I noticed him wearing it in the octogon post-slaughtering.

Adam 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2006 I wonder if the guy who scored it 30-27 Diego was the same guy that scored it 30-27 for Tito?

If you liked that watch Pride 20 where Sanae Kikuta has Alexander Otsuka's arm fully extended in an armbar for like ten seconds, and Otsuka escapes and LAUGHS RIGHT IN KIKUTA'S FUCKING FACE! Damaramu 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2006 My Judo teacher, Pat Burris, was put in an arm-bar at nationals when he was 17(so it was like in the 60's) and the guy tore the elbow to pieces and he just held on and didn't tap. Must learn to have those balls.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2006 Can the phrase "I wish I had balls like..." be banned from this folder? I imagine Royces arm has been stretched for decades, so the ligaments and muscles don't nearly tear the same way most peoples do, thus less pain. Still, those are some nice balls on him. Guest Report post Posted May 31, 2006 This was the first fight since Hopkins/De La Hoya that I heard people talking about during class. That says quite a bit, considering I heard about it for half the day. The sport is growing.

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2006 Who? It didn't load? But seems how he teaches in Oklahoma and Frank Trigg is from Oklahoma and gets RNC a lot I figure that's who the pic is of. I didn't know he trained with him and I'm sure a Judo instructor didn't teach him everything. I'm learning Judo from Pat Burris. Not MMA.
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2006 It was a joke guy. Trigg actually got his black belt if I remember correctly, from Burris.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2006 It was a joke guy. Trigg actually got his black belt if I remember correctly, from Burris. Ah well that's my coach you're talking about. Of course I'll defend him. Burris is a legend in American Judo though so it's good to train under him.
