Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted May 7, 2006 7:30 for all the Clips games... boo. Also, does anyone know if it's still possible to get tickets for this round. If so, please tell me how.
Guest Report post Posted May 7, 2006 I'm going to the 3rd game of Clippers/Suns. It's not hard to get tickets for the games at Staples, because there aren't many season ticket holders.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2006 Oh yeah, predictions: Pistons in 4 Heat in 7 Spurs in 7 Clippers in
bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2006 If Dallas can beat San Antonio, than both Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash can both suck on it in the "battle for the REAL MVP" because Dirk will be real one. I like all of these matchups. SA over Dallas in 7 Clippers over Phoenix in 6 (!!!!!!!!!! being optimistic I know) Miami over New Jersey in 7 Detroit over Cleveland in 5 (i actually flip flop between 5 and 6 here, I think Cle can push it to 6 but I'm going to be swayed by homer emotions here)
Danville_Wrestling 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2006 My predictions: EAST: Detroit over Cleveland in 5 (figure LeBron and the James Gang can get at least one out of the Pistons if the Bucks could do it) Miami over New Jersey in 6 WEST: Dallas over San Antonio in 7 (this is my upset special in the semis) Suns over Clippers in 7 (this looks like a repeat of Suns-Lakers to me)
Guest Report post Posted May 7, 2006 Pistons in 5 Nets in 6 Suns in 6. Dunleavy's not a great coach and it will be put on display. Dallas in
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2006 I think the Suns have to win the first two games to win the series. If the Clippers get one of the first two in Phoenix, which I think will happen, I don't think the Suns will recover from that again. I can't really put a finger on why I feel that way, to be perfectly honest, but that's just how I see it going down. As for the Pistons/Cavs, I just think the Pistons have gotten in their heads too much. LeBron *might* be good enough to get 1, but there's no way in hell this goes more than 5. EDIT: And even though I picked the Spurs for the series, I think Dallas takes Game 1. Rest over rust.
Just John 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2006 My picks: Detroit d. Cleveland (5): I can see two scenarios here. (A) Cavs go the way of the Bucks and pick up the first home game before losing two in a row. Or (B) Cavs pull out Game 1, then get the old backdoor sweep. The Pistons are way too balanced to lose to the Lebrons. New Jersey d. Miami (6): I was very underwhelmed by Miami in Round 1. I know the Heat swept the Nets last year, but I'm pretty confident things will be different this time around. Nenad Kristic is having a breakout postseason, and the Nets are playing some good D. The Heat have serious attitude problems too. I wasn't born when the Showtime Lakers were at their peak, but Pat Riley does not impress me as a coach. San Antonio d. Dallas (7): I'd love to see the Mavs win, but I just don't see it happening. The Spurs are playing on a very high level right now. I can see the Mavs pushing it to 7, but I'm not picking them in Game 7 in the SBC Center. Phoenix d. LA Clippers (6): I'd love to see the Clips in the WCF, but the Suns are a tough draw. I don't think the Clippers will build on the exposure of the Suns provided by the Lakers in Games 1-4. Instead, they'll wind up playing Suns basketball. They have the talent to win some high-scoring games, but not a high-scoring series. Rest could be a big factor, though.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2006 I feel pretty much the same way you do about the NJ/Mia series, I just think that Shaq finally played the way everyone thought he would in the playoffs in that last game, and if he maintains that, it goes the Heat's way. Not trying to sound bitter about the first round, but Shaq will get a lot of the calls that didn't go Jermaine's way in the first round, which I think will make a huge difference even if Krstic continues to put up his numbers. Like you said, though, Miami has attitude problems, and if we see the Heat teams we saw in Games 3 & 4 in Chicago at any point in this series, they're going down. Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2006 San Antonio over Dallas in 7 LA over Phoenix in 6, if the Clippers try to play Suns-style basketball reverse this. Detroit over Cleveland in 5, if the Bucks got one LeBron surely can, that'll be it though. New Jersey over Miami in
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2006 Well here goes... SA over Dallas in 7 Clippers over the Suns in 7 New Jersey over Miami in 7 Detroit over Cleveland in 5. Yes, I'm calling 3 out of 4 series to go 7 games.
Fökai 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2006 Pistons over Cavs in 6. Heat over Nets in 7. Spurs over Mavericks in 7. Clippers over Suns in 6. Looking at my predictions, the series I feel the least confident about are the defending champions. Go figure.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2006 Detroit over Cleveland in 6. -Too many people are calling for a sweep or 5 games but I actually think Cleveland will get an extra win here but I don't think it'll be a even competitive series. Probably the worse series of this round. New Jersey over Miami in 7. -I just have this feeling Wade has troubles during this series and that his injury issues rise again in the post-season. Dallas over San Antonio in 6. -This is Dallas at it's most crucial time. This is the best time for them to take a run for the title. LA isn't there, Sacramento is gone and SA is vulerable and Dallas has its best team yet this season. Dirk is a machine. If they don't take the conference this season, I don't think they ever will. LAC over Phoenix in 5 -I can't believe the Clippers will be in the Western Conference Finals. Also, side prediction...we will see eight OT games out of the 4 series. USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2006 Detroit over Cleveland in 6- It will have Detroit winning 2 home games, then Cleveland winning 2 of theirs, then Detroit winning the next two. Miami over New Jersey in 7- I haven't seen much Nets to really know how good/bad they are, but if Miami plays like they did in Game 6 of the first round, then with the benefit of doubt to New Jersey, Miami will win it in 7. If Nets are worse, then it'll be a shorter series. Dallas over San Antonio in 5- Dallas takes Game 1 due to Spurs having just played their final first round game two days ago, and Spurs don't recover from that. LA Clippers over Phoenix in 6- Just a gut feeling. Also Elton Brand rocks.
