Guest Report post Posted June 20, 2006 He needs the ball too much to be the secondary guy they want him to be and he's not good enough to be the primary guy, that's the issue. He's an enigma. He'll be traded anyway.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted June 21, 2006 Yeah, but not at least until midseason next year, I think.
Gert T 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2006 King, that is probably the best assessment I have heard for Lamar Odom. He still had a hell of a year in Miami before the Shaq trade, so if somebody can harness that up...... yah enigma works.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2006 He had some hell of some years with the Clippers too. The thing is, Lamar Odem should have the ball because he makes teammates better, he is the biggest mixmatch on the court for the lakers, and he needs it to be effective. Kobe can be a effective scorer if he showed up drunk and was blindfolded. He doesn't need the ball in his hands. People look at the record the Lakers have without Kobe and say they did horrible, but if you watch the games, the offense moves freely, and smoother. Thats because Odem has the ball in his hands. If Phil weren't so stubborn he would look at the year Lamar had with Dwayne Wade and realize that the guy can have the ball for 3 quarters and it will keep him good and the rest of the team looking good, and defer to Kobe when they are in the need of someone taking over. But Phil is a little too stubborn for that. In completely unrelated news, Amare Stoudimire will be playing on the Suns summer league team starting next month. Guest Report post Posted June 22, 2006 Do the Suns play in the Mountain summer league or the one in Long Beach?
Ripper 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 They used to play in the Moutain, but I looked at the teams in it this year and I didn't see their name (although I did see the Hawks so I will still be checking out the games) I am going to assume they are in the Long Beach one. Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 On a good note, the Knicks will probably have the best Summer League team again this year. Led by Frye, Lee, and Robinson, the possibilities are endless.
Gert T 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 I wasn't sure if it was too early to start a NBA Draft thread so I'll just pose the question here; I've seen some sites with Randy Foye as a PG/SG. My question is, can he play PG at the NBA level? BTW Ripper, I'm with you on being excited for this draft, these mock draft boards are all over the place.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 We should do a Mock NBA Draft. Randy Foye should be able to play PG in the NBA. I know one site compared him to Billups, and that's right on. Not saying he'll be as good, but he can get it to his teammates off penetration, can defend both guard positions, and can shoot the ball. He's like 6'3 202, so he'll be one of the big PGs; and he can defend, so I think he'll be solid for whichever team picks him. The reason some label him as a SG is because he played with 2 other PGs in Villanova, and usually he was forced to play the two, and even three at times. But he can handle the ball, can pass, and can get everyone else involved along with his scoring.
Guest Report post Posted June 22, 2006 Good idea. The mock draft, I mean.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 The Wolves really like Randy Foye. Makes sense since Rashad McCants underwent the same knee surgery that kept Stoudamire out the entire season...save a few games.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 Spurs trade Rasho Nesterovic to Toronto for Eric Williams, Matt Bonner, and a 2009 second-round pick. It's on ESPN.com.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 I would have never guessed anyone could get THREE players for RA-SHO Nesterovic.
Guest Report post Posted June 22, 2006 That's a hilarious trade. No joke, that made my day. Makes Isiah look like a fucking genius. I know about Williams' contract situation, but RASHO NESTEROVIC isn't worth a 4th round pick. Toronto is SUPPOSED TO CHANGE?
Big Ol' Smitty 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 RASHO NESTEROVIC isn't worth a 4th round pick. 4th round picks don't even exist, do they?

LivingLegendGaryColeman 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 that Toronto trade shocked me. Just one of Bonner or Williams for Rasho would've made the Spurs look good in the deal IMO, but they get BOTH and a draft pick.
Gert T 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 Thanks Cena's Writer, I had seen him play about 6-8 games this year and with their guard play I wasn't sure how it translated. I'm cool with a mock draft. Ford had Foye go all the way down to #14 at Utah, which I would love, but there's no way I see that happening. Is that trade just swapping of salaries or does Colangelo just not like that personnel? bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 Larry Brown just got fired. Isiah THomas to take over as coaching. Well at least the Knicks got rid of 1/4 of their problems. Now all they have left to get rid of are Marbury, Isiah, and Dolan.

Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 So, how much longer do we have before we find out the Knicks traded for a crippled K-Mart? Ugh. Probably not long. starvenger 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 that Toronto trade shocked me. Just one of Bonner or Williams for Rasho would've made the Spurs look good in the deal IMO, but they get BOTH and a draft pick. It's a cap thing. Nesterovic makes 7.5 mil a year, so you have to have two players. Bonner was basically the offensive version of JYD, and assuming that the Raptors are drafting Aldridge or that Italian guy, they need to make some room for him. I actually wouldn't be surprised to see the Spurs release Bonner. Also, second round picks are the equivalent of mid-round picks in football - they're passed around like beer at a party. Anyways, he could blow chunks, but he'll still be better than Rafael "oh shit, why is he in there?" Araujo.
