iliketurtles Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 Let's hear what you guys think. Bischoff returning? JBL jumping from Smackdown? Dusty Rhodes? Shane McMahon?
iliketurtles Posted May 29, 2006 Author Report Posted May 29, 2006 I like how on Wikipedia it says that "A small percentage of people think it will be Bret Hart."
CanadianGuitarist Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 I'd mark for weeks if it were Dusty, but my money's on JBL. OR! Vince will come out and put it off all night, usurp the main event, and we'll somehow be expected to forget about it next week.
CanadianGuitarist Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 Failing that, the new gm will be: *AIRHORN
Guest Princess Leena Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 If there must be a GM, I really hope it's someone impartial like Theodore Long. Coach or JBL would be intolerable... I think the most probable pick is Dusty, since his DVD is coming out soon. Which I hope would be much better than the silly role he had in TNA.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 Vince will officially name himself GM.
jester Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 The new GM will be a large talking walrus named "Mike." I can't wait for Austin to return and do the usual Austin vs Authority Figure Angle. They can bring back the Redneck Challenge thing, only this time it will be Austin against a walrus.

I wouldn't call Theodore Long impartial, as he is slanted towards the face side of things. I also think it defeats the entire purpose of having a general manager if the guy is going to be impartial. The only reason you establish an on-air authority figure is for him to eventually feud with a superstar.
goldengreek Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 Why is everbody do high on dusty rhodes? He sucked as a g.m. and booker in tna! Also i can never understand what the hell he issaying with all that heavy breathing, spit/saliva coming out of his mouth

Aero Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 Impartial GMs are the best route. If JBL really is done, I'd love for him to be named GM and swerve the audience by being fair.

Hawk 34 Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 The only worthwhile thing for JBL as GM is the return of the JBL/HHH confrontations which went nowhere.
Blade2kxx Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 I love JBL... and honestly, I could see him being a fair and impartial GM, since everyone on RAW would be beneath THE WRESTLING GAWD! So, why would he screw anyone?
Jericho2000Mark Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 The new GM will be a large talking walrus named "Mike." No, it's Stephanie, not Mike.
slimm44 Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 Vince will come out and put it off all night, usurp the main event, and we'll somehow be expected to forget about it next week. WWE.com says he will announce the new GM at the beginning of RAW, but your theory could be right since they like to delay things
Lil' Bitch Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 Well, I'm glad they didn't drop the angle. I'm pretty sure and hoping its Dusty since his DVD is coming out in a couple of weeks.
goldengreek Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 Again why is everbody so high on dusty rhodes?????
razazteca Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 I thought the GM concept was dropped in favor of having Candice Michelle as Vince's sex slave.
Downhome Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 It isn't so much that everyone is so high on him, even though I am. He's just one of the more logical predictions, since it's been rumored ever since Bishoff got "fired". Another reason it makes sense for JBL to be the GM: We have the ECW angle in full force right now, and JBL was the most outspoken guy against it last year. I'd love to see his work on RAW putting down the ECW guys. I wouldn't mind seeing Bishoff back either, but that wouldn't really make any sense at all. It wouldn't make sense why Vince brought him back and it wouldn't make too much sense why Bishoff would even return after what Vince did to him last time.
The Amazing Rando Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 Failing that, the new gm will be: *AIRHORN
NoCalMike Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 Whoever it is, Vince needs to understand that the "heel" GM" gimmick is so fucking old and tired. If anything, we just need a guy who stays backstage in his office and makes matches according to the shenanigans going on in the ring, and not cutting deals with the newest "flavor of the month" heel.
Guest Princess Leena Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 Unfortunately, I think we're gonna get another heel GM with the impending DX revival.

If anything, we just need a guy who stays backstage in his office and makes matches according to the shenanigans going on in the ring, and not cutting deals with the newest "flavor of the month" heel. The problem that arises from this is , if you have an impartial general manager, what exactly changes from what we have now? Matches are currently based on storylines, so what do you really gain from an impartial general manager?

Matches are currently based on storylines, so what do you really gain from an impartial general manager? With an impartial General Manager who only appears on camera for certain points, you gain the following: 1)Authority being recognized without it being in your face week in and week out 2)No siding with one group or another 3)Whenever the GM appears, it's for something very important...not to stroke his/her own ego, thus possibly making you look FORWARD to him/her coming out.
Downhome Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 It would be very easy to have an impartial GM. There will be times that certain heels/faces like them and then there will be times where certain heels/faces hate them, just depending on the storyline. I think someone like JBL could pull that off perfectly.

Does this talking walrus happen to be Mike Holmgren of the Seahawks?
