razazteca Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 how soon before Kane, his clone and the Boogeyman debut on "ECW On Sci-Fi"? Kane 1 might be retiring soon, so it'd have to be sometime soon. Kane 2 we don't know what he's doing. Boogeyman...well, Heyman got him over in OVW. hey, with Gangrel supposedly going there, I was just trying to think of more sci-fi related guys. Will Nova return as the Blue Power Ranger?

Will Kane run the storyline everyone thought the Ultimate Warrior was doing? Just keep him under a mask and keep replacing him every few years around May 19th and have the one that was under the mask take a few weeks off and then re-debut as a big man that now has considerable ring time under his belt and hell, he can feud with the new Kane for a while. "Dude, there's been like 5 Kane's. Glen Jacobs died in a motorcycle crash in like 99, or steroids or some shit. Oh, and you hear this new one changed his name to Kane Kane?" Don't know, but since you mentioned it, I had to bring this over from "comments which don't warrent a thread"
The Amazing Rando Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 if I ever see Kane in a wig like that... I'd have to kill him.
NoCalMike Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 I truly hope that this "new" ECW tries in the future to make the ECW Arena shows special, and not just another house show on the tour. I guess the problem is without ECW having it's own tapings it is hard to make it happen.
ChrisMWaters Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 if I ever see Kane in a wig like that... I'd have to kill him. Which one?
Fro Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 The most encouraging thing is those two "ecw.com exclusive" promos both have Heyman's fingerprints all over them. Totally like what he's been doing in OVW lately.
The Amazing Rando Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 KAAAAAANE... VEEEE OOOOOOOOOOONE-AHHHHHHH!! "Lita doesn't love me anymore, so my depression is attacking me in a series of odd vignettes on a wrestling show" Note: WWE should hire Jeff Hardy, die his hair black, and have him act like Matt's depression and follow him around for the same reason. Then, eventually, have the Version 1 team go against the Version 2 team.

Just calm, cool, explanation.

Just calm, cool, explanation. Non-screaming Show sounds like my uncle. I felt a quiet intensity to the promo as well, though. The fact that he didn't raise his voice made it that much more effective. I think that ECW is going to show wrestlers as they should have been booked. Like Show, Gangrel, and of course all the ECW alums.

ChrisMWaters Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Will Nova return as the Blue Power Ranger? No need. Just get the second group of guys in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3rCYcthelk
Guest Macaroni Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Incredible, somebody posted the whole show already! Part 1 http://rapidshare.de/files/22499728/WWE.vs...D1.TwE.rar.html Part 2 http://rapidshare.de/files/22501043/WWE.vs...D2.TwE.rar.html Part 3 http://rapidshare.de/files/22502424/WWE.vs...D3.TwE.rar.html Is anyone else only getting sound and not video when trying to play these in Winamp (they're NSV files, so Winamp *should* work)? I have the latest Winamp, and the package that supports NSV video playback.
Downhome Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Meeting update, from PWInsider: -ECW talent met with Vince, doing the "welcome" speech. -Then a meeting with John Laurinaitis, Tommy Dreamer, and Paul Heyman where they were given the rules of the company, dress code, wellness, blah blah blah speech. -Heyman met with the talent, and gave a speech just to get everyone excited. -Then RVD got everyone together and did the same sort thing thing, taking the "leader" spot backstage. -It's said that Vince has having fun backstage, actually "popping" for things now and then and loved the matches and really enjoyed seeing that style in the ring. For those of you who asked, backstage sources have told me that the segment where Joey Styles knocked off Jim Ross' hat on last night's WWE vs. ECW show was an impromptu thing. It wasn't planned beforehand but it definitely made for effective TV. Also, another good sign: Speaking of ECW.com, they have changed the title of the workers from "Superstars" to "Wrestlers". That may seem like a little thing, but it isn't. WWE has always branded their guys as "Superstars". That tells me that at least of right now, Vince McMahon is serious about letting ECW be the distinct brand that it was last night.
Maztinho Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 -It's said that Vince has having fun backstage, actually "popping" for things now and then and loved the matches and really enjoyed seeing that style in the ring. By God, he has a wrestling fan somewhere deep inside him, doesn't he? This is a good sign, perhaps the whole WWE will go this direction. *crosses fingers and sacrifices the nearest virgin to the wrestling gods.*
mfn Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Joey Styles rules. I totally missed the hat being knocked off.
Black Lushus Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 I fear you guys are getting way too excited about things only a matter of time before Vince is Vince and the product starts sucking...but I'll try to remain as optimistic as possible.

ChrisMWaters Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Oh, and I just noticed someone they should have put into the battle royal in my eyes. http://www.wwe.com/shows/ecw/superstars/cwanderson/profile/
tigeraid Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 I have to admit, WWE vs ECW actually had be interested and excited last night. Nothing from WWE in the last 5 years has made me interested or excited. Foley's promo was fantastic, even if it did sorta go in circles--very dark, very Cactus-Jack like. Lawler and Tazz stiffed the SHIT out of each other. I love it. Tazz looks like he lost a little weight too, which is good. They both looked intense and completely legit. Which is probably half-true, apparently they have some backstage heat between them. All four broadcasters were hilarious and spot on last night, especially Styles. His response to Lawler's short jokes "okay there beanpole, what are you, like 5'10?" was priceless. The woman's match was short, to the point, and half-decent. Which is more than can be said for any woman's match since Molly Holly was fired. Show's turn was totally unexpected to me. I haven't been surprised by WWE in a long time. That did the trick. The Edge/Dreamer match, while the ending was predictable, had a few creative spots and was worth watching.

Nothing from WWE in the last 5 years has made me interested or excited. it won't last Foley's promo was fantastic, even if it did sorta go in circles--very dark, very Cactus-Jack like. to each their own...the only part I found good was when the fans started shitting on how boring it was and he told them to shut up Lawler and Tazz stiffed the SHIT out of each other. I love it. Tazz looks like he lost a little weight too, which is good. They both looked intense and completely legit. Which is probably half-true, apparently they have some backstage heat between them. Everything I've read today indicates that they DON'T have heat and that they were stiff with the shots and harsh with the words to further sell their fued as "legit" All four broadcasters were hilarious and spot on last night, especially Styles. His response to Lawler's short jokes "okay there beanpole, what are you, like 5'10?" was priceless. agreed...the banter was the best part of the night The woman's match was short, to the point, and half-decent. Which is more than can be said for any woman's match since Molly Holly was fired. I had zero desire to watch this so I switched over to College Hoops 2K5 to finish up my game Show's turn was totally unexpected to me. I haven't been surprised by WWE in a long time. That did the trick. you couldn't see it coming from a mile away? his motivational speech before the Battle Royal? the fact that two WWE guys survived in the end? The Edge/Dreamer match, while the ending was predictable, had a few creative spots and was worth watching. Everytime Dreamer is on my TV, I suddenly get very sleepy and disinterested...and whenever a spot is badly botched, that totally kills a match, for me...i mean that botch was bad...Rey Mysterio slipping off the ring trying to do a 619 at WM was bad, but this one was BAD....okay not Randy Orton whiffing an RKO bad, but it was BAD!
Art Sandusky Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Praise the lord, sounds like Vince was a huge ECW fan back in the day. If you think about it, this makes sense. He was way nicer to them than when dealing with other companies. MASSIVELY good sign that they've changed the workers designation to "wrestlers."
Kahran Ramsus Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 I love that the fate of ECW is being defended by lifelong ECW wrestlers like Big Show & Kurt Angle. This is the Invasion all over again...
haVoc Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 I laughed during the battle royal when Terry Funk starting going after Justin Credible and Justin had to tell him he was on his side.
razazteca Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 I love that the fate of ECW is being defended by lifelong ECW wrestlers like Big Show & Kurt Angle. This is the Invasion all over again... The rebirth of ECW needs Steve Austin mocking Hogan again...
notJames Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 I love that the fate of ECW is being defended by lifelong ECW wrestlers like Big Show & Kurt Angle. This is the Invasion all over again... What he said. On the one hand, this makes the ECW "stars" look like total losers. On the other hand, most of those guys are. My god, the love guys like Sandman and Sabu get is inconceivable to me. What do they bring to the table except contrived spots and business-exposing nonsense? Ooh, they can bleed. Wonderful. Don't even get me started on Justin Tolerable and Jobbin' Stevie Richards. Feh. That said, I'm still excited to have another hour of wrestling on TV. If anything, it will be a springboard for all the up-and-comers I keep hearing about but never see.
Lt. Al Giardello Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 I think the Big Show will be great in ECW. Rememner how Heyman did with Sid and 911? He can certainly do more with the Big Show, who is a better worker then both of them.
RavishingRickRudo Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 The WWE vs. ECW show did nothing to sell me on ECW Redux, but it did sorta sell me on the PPV provided it has Tanaka/Ballz.
ChrisMWaters Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Just thought of something... Styles and Tazz missed the boat last night. They should have called Lawler out and reminded him that he LOST to Tommy Dreamer at a previous ECW PPV.
