Well that's just you. Doesn't mean the movie wasn't good or wasn't funny. Just you didn't find it to be those things. I however did.

Yeah, there's the shock of 2006.

Well that seems to be how everyone on this board is. If you thought a movie wasn't funny then it by all means wasn't funny and anyone that thinks it was funny must not know comedy. Humor is purely subjective.

Maybe Im being snobbish, but I was pretty turned off when the movie opened up with a giant Nickolodeon Films logo. This fact was not publicized. I laughed a few times, and I was trying like mad to figure out who Ramses was. It wasn't half bad, and the Little Wolf-midgets were more entertaining than the new ecw

But the Nick of now and the Nick of the early-to-mid 90's is drastically different. The Nick of now doesn't have any of the subtle adult jokes in it like Ren & Stimpy and Rocko's Modern Life did. The Nick of now is all about pretty white kids in middle and high school, and some lame cartoons that are either retreads of classic Nicktoons (though All Grown Up is a decent continuation of Rugrats, I must say) or flat-out lame.

My sister used to watch Nick with me when I was 9 or 10. She's 7 years older than me. I struggle to find something watchable other thank Drake & Josh and All Grown Up on Nick these days. Spongebob has its moments but is entirely overrated, and really: Drake & Josh should just be titled "Cool Kid & The Jew."

Re: the movie

Saw it tonight. Laughed a few times at it, especially the whole "I hate ALL of the orphans in the world" bit. The match with the two midgets was more entertaining than anything I've seen on WWE television besides the various Edge/Foley interactions in a decent while, and I actually got into Nacho's quest to rise to the top not only for himself but for the kids he looks after.

I saw it today and loved it. It was definitely a homage to the old El Santo movies. I too was trying to figure out who Ramses was.

Anyone notice the Human Tornado's cameo?

This movie confirmed my official dislike for recent comedies. The "referee" in me was insulted by this thing. Who knew you could win a match by giving your opponent a dropkick, or better yet, pin him on the floor?!

The only high points were Not-Penelope Cruz looking hot and Will Ferrell signing a baby's head in the Talladega Nights preview.

Will Ferrell signing a baby's head in the Talladega Nights preview.

This was the high point of the night for me, too. On the positive side for Nacho, that My Super Ex-Girlfriend movie looks like it has the potential to be even worse than this was. Woof.

I marked for that. I even went "He's a Human Tornado!" to my non-wrestling friend and he gave me that WTF? look.

I had to sit through the credits to find out that Ramses was Silver King. SILVER KING!!!

I laughed where I was supposed too, and had a good time watching this film. It's not as quirky as ND, but El Esceletos wierd smile warmed it's way into my heart.

"I smell cookies"

HOW CAN YOU NOT LAUGH AT THAT LINE? :boxing:

It was stupid and dragged a bit too much for a 90 minute movie, but I thought Jack Black was really funny, and the actual wrestling matches were great. The other stuff...not so much

I absolutely loved it. All the bad stuff people said on here and elsewhere had me a little worried, but my first intuition was right - this was my kind of movie. Like Bruiser said...the poop smear and all the farting was stupid, but Jack Black and his dialogue had me rolling.

It seems like anything JB or Will Ferrell does makes me laugh - just about anything. With that said... I'm patiently awaiting The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.

The only Will Ferrell movie I absolutely, 100% downright HATE is Bewitched. That and that stupid-ass soccer movie he did. Anchorman was genius, though, and his cameo in Wedding Crashers is the best part of the movie. Ditto his cameo in Starsky & Hutch.

I refused to see Bewitched and it sounds like I made the right choice. I thought Kicking and Screaming was funny until it got way too formulaic at the end.

Ferrell's cameo in Wedding Crashers is pretty painful though. It had become painfully obvious they were out of ideas for the final 20 minutes and thought: Hey, let's get Will Ferrell to liven it up! Didn't work.

Didn't work for you but I was rolling at the Ferrell part.

The Ballad of Ricky Bobby looks hilarious but I'm afraid of people going in expecting Anchorman on Wheels and then trashing the movie when it's not.

I got a preview for the Owen Wilson movie and the CG movie about the Cows. Both of which look great.

I haven't heard a single good thing about it

I SMELL COOKIES~!

My Super Ex-Girlfriend looked like a pile of utter shit. Even the row of fat sorority girls sitting behind me stated aloud, "That movie looks dumb."

It drew laughs from my theater and I heard several people say it looked good.

I think Dama lives in an alternate universe.

I wanted to see it b/c it had Dwight and Uma Thurman but it just looks horrible. I'm also sick of everyone trying to spoof the superhero genre now.

I loved it, probably my favorite movie of the year.

Don't understand the comparison to Napoleon Dynamite, this movie was a one of a kind thing and that made it for me. The extra's might of been the best thing about this movie, the dull, almost catatonic hispanic character has never been used better.

And the lowbrow stuff made the movie for me. The shit smear and arrow with his little run away thing was my favorite part. Great physical comedy and a nice touching story that made me come close to shedding tears. If you hated this movie, I'm sure it hated you back. Instant classic thats going in my dvd collection the second it comes out.

Note: I was incredibly stoned when I saw it but that in no way affected my judgement. :)

It was a comedic take on the story behind King in the Tekken games. I dug it.

And, again...THE TWO DEMON MIDGETS WERE AWESOME! Seeing the bio's on everybody involved in the battle royale to see who'd fight Ramses for the belt was GREAT. "Signature move: chair shots."

My Super Ex-Girlfriend looks okay the first minute of the trailer, but once we get into the super-hero part, it starts looking like a terrible parody of a movie.

I laughed the hardest when Jack Black sang that song about the girl.

And anything the Hispanic guy said made me laugh because of his accent, and the look on his face. And his giant horse teeth.

I thought Silencio was the Undertaker because he did the Tombstone Piledriver.
