DX is back as the road to Vengeance ends

June 19, 2006

For the first time since the Attitude era kicked off, the original D-Generation X is back. Shawn Michaels and Triple H were brought back together by the common cause of wreaking havoc on Mr. McMahon, and DX was reborn. The defiant duo disposed of the Spirit Squad on RAW, and after a few emphatic double crotch chops, Triple H capped off the night by mooning the Chairman.

What will DX have in store for Mr. McMahon and the Spirit Squad this Monday night when they make their first live RAW appearance since reuniting? If their history is any indication, one thing's certain - it will be unpredictable.

Also this week on RAW, one-half of the self-proclaimed Hardcore Champions, Edge, will go one on one with Ric Flair. Can the Rated-R Superstar soften up the Nature Boy for Mick Foley before Vengeance? Watch RAW to find out.

Last Tuesday on the premiere of ECW on Sci Fi, John Cena laid out Paul Heyman after a brawl between Cena, Edge and Rob Van Dam. Heyman later promised that he was coming to RAW and ECW would be coming with him. Just six days before Cena meets ECW's Sabu at Vengeance, will the former WWE Champion have to look over his shoulder for the extreme team?

Don’t miss RAW for all of this and more Monday night at 9/8 CT on the USA Network.

What's more sad, last tuesday being passed off as "ECW" or Triple H and HBK merely doing crotch chops during a promo being passed off as "D-X" ?

ECW. Although, DX could go either way. The segments this week could be gold, or they could be really quite awful. Because of HHH's influence I'm thinking that they will be okay, but in reality, you never really know with this company.

That first line should read "For the first time in under four years"

Don't forget time passes faster in WWE. Michaels and HHH were feuding for about 25 years between DX incarnations.

I'm glad WWE is actually remaining consistent with the Edge/Foley alliance.

The only thing that was worse than last week's Raw, was the absolutely horrible excuse for a tv show known as ECW. On that basis, I've surmised that tonight's Raw could not possibly be any worse. Having said that, I'm always prepared for the worst.

Smackdown really is the best programming WWE is currently producing.

I wonder if Rey will make a special guest appearence seeing that it's 6/19.....I doubt it.

I've been out of the loop with wrestling for about three or so years and am starting to get back into it a little bit. So can someone explain to me, why people watch Raw over Smackdown?

I'll be there tonight. Don't look for me on TV though, I bought the cheapest tickest possible and am still not happy with how much I paid (21.50 before service charges). I'll probably be getting wasted and yelling UMAGAAAAAAAAAAAAA and COME ONNNNNNNN REF all night.

Most people just read the Smackdown spoilers and determine whether or not to watch. Plus, most people have better things to do on Friday nights then watch Smackdown.

I watch Raw more because I'm a creature of habit with it...I've been watching wrestling on Monday nights since, when? 85? 86?

Was it really that early? I remember WCW Saturday Night and the Clash of the Champions being my big thing in the 80's.

My Monday Night Wrestling viewing didn't kick into high gear until the 90's and since then, it has been habit. Smackdwn sounds entertaining but it's on a Friday night and I'm very rarely home on Friday night anymore.

Plus starting in July, SG1 and Atlantis start up and Smackdown takes a very distant backseat to those.

DVR, my good man...it's a wonderful thing!

I know Primetime was around as early as 86, I just can't remember if it started out on Mondays...I know it DID run on Mondays, just not sure what year it officially started, but yeah, Monday night wrestling has been on for almost 20 years.

My recorder is usually handling something esle. Smackdown fell to like important program number 9 when it moved to Friday.

Tonight's RAW doesn't sound that interesting but it also sounds like it has potential to be entertaining. Something RAW hasn't been for at least three weeks or long now.

Its going to suck for me in 2 1/2 months when my UPN changes over to FOX and not CW and I cant watch Smackdown anymore..but whatever.

The only reason RAW could be good tonight is because they are trying to sell a PPV with hardly any buildup at all for it. They still probably have about 3 matches they need to announce.

Marvin, what about your WB station? What is it switching too?

I'll try and explain why I always am way more psyched for Raw than SD:

--As Lushus said, watching wrestling on Monday is a tradition. Every Monday I always get a bit excited hoping to see SOMETHING good on Raw. My excitement for SD is about like watching Thunder.

--SD has jack shit actually happening on the show. Let's face it, there might be a couple of solid matches on a typical SD but the show just feels so 2nd rate.

--WWE doesn't care about SD...why should I?

The WB station here is cable only so I dont know and dont care cause I cant get cable, although Id assume it will be going CW. I cant imagine them going with the MyTV americanized Spanish Soap Opera programming..

Zombie vs UMAGA should be the main event!

hell yeah. And Zombie should bite Umaga, so we get ZOMBIE UMAGA~!

Im wondering if the Vampires and Zombie would form an alliance on ECW since Vampires probably wouldnt have any interest in the Zombie with their messed up blood..

Sounds like a bad idea for Underworld 3.

Tonight on RAW, Women's Champion Mickie James will team up with Candice Michelle to take on Torrie and Maria in a sexy Bra and Panties Tag Team Match

What is the difference between a "Sexy Bra & Panties Match" and a regular Bra & Panties Match? Is Stewie the referee?

And I was going to start this thread with the much more witty subtitle of "DX! ECW Invades! Welcome Back to 1997!"

That's the plot to the next made for Sci-Fi Channel movie with Chris Jericho as the star.

They already have six matches made.

RVD/Edge.

Spirit Squad/DX.

Foley/Flair.

Angle/Orton.

Sabu/Cena.

Benjamin/Carlito/Nitro.

No way another three matches are added. Maybe 1 more, like Mickie/Trish or Kane/Kane II.

That was some funny shit.

I watch Raw more than Smackdown. It's all about Monday Night Nitro people.
