Guest NYankees Report post Posted June 22, 2006 Wow Dolan sure is a genius. FUCK HIM AND FUCK THE KNICKS. I am so sick of being a fan of this shitty organization which has ruined basketball in NY for the past 7 years.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 Is Isiah the coach AND GM now? Because I'd love to see a team take a run at the Sixers' record for fewest wins in a season, and Isiah's the man to get it done.

Guest NYankees Report post Posted June 22, 2006 Lets get it right now. Isiah Thomas is the President, GM and Head Coach of the NY Knicks. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Dolan has to be the worst owner in all of sports to trust his team to that fucking moron.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 Larry just got 50 million dollars to coach the Knicks for one bad season. I wonder if the Knicks are taking applications for jobs? Cause I can totally see this franchise hiring someone as head coach after the person applied for the hot dog stand.
bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 well like I said in the other thread... they got rid of 1/4 of the problem... now all they have left is Marbury... Isiah... and Dolan. Biggest trainwreck in sports.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 The Knicks told Brown they are not going to pay him the full $40 million left on his deal, the New York Daily News reported. Sources told the paper that the Knicks are going to allow NBA commissioner David Stern to arbitrate what compensation is owed to the Hall of Fame coach. How can they just decide they aren't paying him the rest of his deal? A buyout is one thing, but I don't get how you can just say "oh we aren't going to pay him his contract". I hope Stern rules to stick them with the whole deal.

He'll rule against Brown, give him maybe 7-10 million of the deal, and the Knicks will move on to sucking out what little life is left in New York basketball fans next season. Guest NYankees Report post Posted June 22, 2006 Does stern really want to do that? 7-10 million is kind of low from 40 especially when the Contract is guaranteed.

Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 I guess Isiah figured he was doing such a brilliant job as President and GM that he might as well go ahead and coach to. Hey NY you want to take Ryan Bowen off the Rockets' hands? We'll take next year's #1 for him since you've already traded this years'. C'mon, a proven veteran, high energy player, what more do you want?

We'll only make that deal if you add in Juwan Howard and take Frye and our next 2 # 1's, unprotected of course.

Just John 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 If there's one positive for Knicks fans, this might speed up Isiah getting canned. If the Knicks stink up the place yet again with Isiah at the helm, that guy is out of excuses. He's one of the few people in the world that actually believes in the NY roster, so I imagine he's gone if he can't lead the Knicks to moderate success. Sure, you'll have to throw away this season for that to work, but it's kind of a "1 step back to go 2 steps forward" thing.

Sure, you'll have to throw away this season for that to work, but it's kind of a "1 step back to go 2 steps forward" thing. This is my line of thinking as well. I couldn't believe when I was watching the end of the US-Ghana game and saw the ESPN ticker announce the news that Larry Brown was being replaced by...ISIAH THOMAS! I feel bad for the Knicks fans but that's what a terrible owner can do to an organization. So now where does Larry Brown go to? I mean isn't it his mission to coach like every team in the league? Also, I hope Stern sticks it to the Knicks and makes them pay the contract but as someone noted above he probably won't.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 The Knicks won't have to pay out the entire $40 mil. Probably $10-12 mil or something like that. If they pay out the entire $40 mil, then they're going to prevent Brown from coaching anywhere for the next four years, and he's not going to want that, unless this is truly his last stop. I can't imagine that it is, since there's no way he'd want to finish his career like that.
SilverPhoenix 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 ESPN News is talking about this right now. Basically they're saying it was a battle of control, with the wrong person winning (It should be Isiah that should be out on his ass) and now he has complete control, and now the nightmare scenario is here. The good news is that Isiah may be out soon. The bad news is that even if he is out soon, there is so much red tape and pure shit in the damn frachise, that the worst days are yet to come. We're 7 Years (at least) away from being a good team again, and that's if Dolan suddenly grows a brain (hahahahahaha. Not going to happen)

Guest Felonies! Report post Posted June 22, 2006 Which organization is a bigger mess, the New York Knicks or the Chicago Cubs? I say Cubs, because it simply involves more personnel. At any rate, both need to stop being outclassed by their respective cities' B-teams. The Knicks are about $100 million OVER the cap and still looking to "acquire assets". The Cubs are just snakebitten with their stars of the future, Wood & Prior. The Cubs can get healthy, the Knicks can't fix their problem unless Isiah stops spending. Basically, barring the Dolans and Isiah going down in a plane crash there is no way to fix this mess given the mindset of those in charge.
Guest Felonies! Report post Posted June 22, 2006 Are the Nets still moving to Brooklyn? I think I read that they were having some trouble securing the real estate, and Plan B is to pursue a new building in Uniondale with the Islanders.
teke184 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 Before everyone starts lining up for the Knicks' 1st Rounder for next year, keep this in mind... Chicago, as part of last year's trade, gets the right to switch positions with the Knicks if the Knicks have a lower pick in the 1st round. That means anyone getting the Knicks' pick would either have to cut a deal with Chicago to void that option or hope that the Bulls absolutely suck this season and end up with a low pick as well. Given that they're pulling things together now, I think it's likely they'll either make the playoffs again or come close, meaning a position of probably 14th or higher as opposed to the Knicks' likely position within the Top 5. Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 One thing I'll say is Isiah can relate to players better then Brown can. Isiah had a big part in Jermaine O'Neal turning into a 20-10 player, even Jermaine will tell you that. Isiah got a raw-deal when Larry Bird came to helm. But he surely did build a train wreck in NY. But atleast he tried. He brought in talented players, which is more then Scott Layden ever did.
