Lei Tong Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 I'm all for the ridiculousness of a Lutter title win if leads to an even more ridiculous title win by someone like Chael Sonnen.
I like Forums Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 UFC's master plan to get Franklin the title back?
Angel_Grace_Blue Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 Lutter better not barrel in against Silva unless he wants his guts carved out with knees, lollerz. Also: Holy crapenstein, could it be a TUF Finale that's not 90% decisions?
naiwf Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 30-27 Serra 30-27 Lytle 30-27 Serra Nice to see consistent judging in the UFC.
Hawkius Maximus Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 Can't say I agree with the decision for Lytle/Serra, but neither has a chance against hughes or GSP.
I like Forums Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 That is a very tough decision. Hard to say one way or the other right now.
Banter Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 Wacky scores. Anyway, Serra's fiance is pretty hot.
razazteca Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 The fans were very vocal for the main event. Hm Matt Serra wins by split decision now if this was worked I can see Matt Hughes winning in round 2 against GSP and Matt Hughes retirement match being against Serra. And because Mr. Dana White is in love with rematches I can see Serra vs Lytle 2 at UFC 73 for the Welterweight strap.
Mik Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 Yeah, the 30-27s were really throwing me off. I can't really see how Lytle lost the first round. He showed nearly flawless takedown defense the entire round and even scored a takedown of his own. But two judges gave the round to Serra? What? I was really looking forward to Bisping fighting and I'm a little disappointed with his visa problems, but overall it was a decent card. That Smith/Sell finish was very memorable and will probably go on the UFC highlight reel.
KingPK Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 In what universe did either Serra or Lytle deserve to win any of those rounds 10-7, let alone ALL of them? Fairly enjoyable finale, but definitely the worst of the Ultimate Finales. Highlights were the "Uh oh, he's dow.....HOLY SHIT HE KNOCKED HIS HEAD OFF!!" finish and the chess match that was Lytle/Serra. Both guys' SOs were pretty good looking (Lytle's was more really cute than hot though)

KingPK Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 (edited) Isn't a 30-27 decision comprised of three 10-7 rounds? I know fuckall about the scoring system. EDIT: Wait, my math was way off. 27/3 = 9, idiot. Edited November 12, 2006 by KingPK
Angel_Grace_Blue Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 Hey, with Lutter's armbar, that's now 3 TUF Finale matches that have not gone to a decision. Yay for Sanchez, Bisping, and Travis for finishing (And I guess also thanks to Florian, Haynes, and Cote for not stepping up?). Take that, Griffin/Bonnar, Stevenson/Cummo, Evans/Imes, Grove/Herman, and Serra/Lytle! Shouldda triangled harder or punched better or whatever.
Angel_Grace_Blue Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 As did I. Hell, I've pretty much enjoyed all of the finale matches on some level (Then again, I'm also a fan of some shitty movies, so maybe it's a case of me just liking bad forms of entertainment).
starvenger Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 Lutter could win the fucking title. That would be pretty much the most awkward thing ever. How about explaining to his girlfriend this quote: "Women come and go, but motorcycles are forever". Lutter may not make it to Silva...
razazteca Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 Whatever you do don't let Lutter do bike tricks in the parking lot without a helmet.
starvenger Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 Whatever you do don't let Lutter do bike tricks in the parking lot without a helmet. Or hang out with Rothleisberger.
MillenniumMan831 Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 Davey Boy Meltzer reports the rating as a 1.1
Lord of The Curry Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 FUCK. That is not good, no matter how Dana and Co. try and spin it. The TUF shows have been learning expiriences. We can now add "No more 'veterans" to "No more heavyweights".
MillenniumMan831 Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 I think it was a little overexposed. Season 3 was tremendous but it seemed like a 2 week break before Season 4 kicked off. Plus, w/ the exemptions of Shonie and Serra, the personalities were kinda weak. Probably because most of them were more mature than the youngins and didn't want to make a complete spectacle of themselves on Spike. Herego, not as much interest in the finale. Bring back some drunks for Season 5.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 Bryan Alvarez has the rating as a 1.06. F4W
naiwf Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 That's more than they deserved frankly.
Rendclaw Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 The immaturity was boring, just as much as the fighters tearing up the house.
