The 58th Annual Emmy Nominations...

Recommended Posts

I don't get why the EMMY's always need to give departing shows a big farewell deal. It's always undeserving shows like Will and Grace. Just give them a tribute during the show if you much praise them. Don't screw the ones who deserve it. I'll grant them the Six Feet Under nominations, however.

I guess it's a matter of comfort for the voters because there is always people nominated consistantly even if they didn't particularly earn it.

Grey's Anatomy jumped the shark for me when Meredith treated George like total shit after they fucked.

oh and Sandra Oh's constant whining didn't help the cause.

How does Hugh Laurie not get a nomination, but House gets Best Drama. I mean...the guy is House!

Yeah, they nominate goddamn Martin Sheen but not Hugh Laurie?

Fuck this list. Fuck with an AIDS-infested cock.

I'm kind of scratching my head about that myself. Sheen was barely even on the West Wing this year. If there's actually even a leading actor on that show, its Bradley Whitford. The show has always revolved around the Josh Lyman character as much as it did Pres. Bartlet.

CanadianChris speaks the truth; NPH is criminal, but with W&G and Malcolm ending, and AD cancelled/ending, perhaps next season he'll get a nom.

That said; JASON LEE.

Forrest Whitikar (sp) got robbed. He was great on The Shield

That is some straight up bullshit right there.

In fact, no noms at all for The Shield is ludicrous.

I concur where the hell was Jason Lee, or My Name is Earl for Best Comedy for that matter

Because like every other "peer" voted award, it's political.

Gregory Itzin and Jean Smart should be able to walk away with their much deserved awards with what I consider to be weak competition.

And Mole...you do realize you just put down a show for having a premise. Thats like saying The Shield sucks because its always about cops. Or Lost sucks because its always about people stuck on a island.

What exactly did Martin Sheen do this year on West Wing that was so much better than what Hugh Laurie did on House that he got the nod over Laurie? The fuck?

And no Shield love is downrigth stupid. This season got me back into that show.

The Emmy's are a fucking fraud!

Forrest Whitaker got fucked over badly, he was the best actor on TV all year. He's acting of John Kavanaugh was just amazing. Also the fact that the Shield never even got one oscar nomination is fucking bullshit. Fuck the people who think the nominations. This is a fraud. No point in even watching this bullshit.

Yeah I know. It's just the same thing every year to me.

Itzin should win but I doubt it. Jean Smart did a fine job as the first lady but I dont think there was anything outstanding about her performance. Kiefer has a shot at best actor if they don't give it to Sheen as a sendoff. I dont see 24 winning best Drama series.

I noticed My Name is Earl got nominated for Outsdtanding Casting for a Comedy Series. I think thats a hint that if next year is good, it might get some nominations in the bigger categories.

Outstanding Comedy Series

Arrested Development FOX

Curb Your Enthusiasm HBO

The Office NBC

Scrubs NBC

Two and a Half Men CBS

Something doesn't quite fit here. Four good, funny comedies, and one mediocre, yet somehow popular comedy.

No John Krasinski?

Fucking idiots.

If he submitted Booze Cruise and Drug Testing and didn't get a nod, then yea, that's BS.

I thought that The Casino's acting was maybe the best that I've ever seen in a comedy. By both him and Jenna. She probably even deserved the Best Actress nod, not even supporting as even though it's an ensemble cast, the show does kind of revolve around Pam.

Oh, and I think that Peter Kraus should win this year. The last few episodes of SFU were great tv.

Yea, I watched Casino Night again last night- that scene where he reveals his love to her is tremendous TV.

But the scene where Jim buys the Coke from Pam and says "Hi"...seriously- Sean fucking Hayes?

I think next year Earl and Office will get more nominations

But you can't nominate Jimmy Smits for best actor because he sucks. In fairness, Alan Alda was nominated for West Wing, and he does deserve the nomination.

I've read the plan was originally for Alda's character to win the election, but between John Spencer dying and the show geting cancelled, they thought the fans would want to see Smits's character win. Meh, says I.

Maybe this ws the TV equivilent of kayfabe, but didn't they have the fans vote on who they wanted to win? I remember reading this somewhere.

IIRC, last year Lost was nominated for Outstanding Drama Series and had two nominations for Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (for Terry O'Quinn and Naveen Andrews).

Lost was not "fucked over" this year. Lost simply did not have as strong a season. As for the two nominees of last year, Locke's character was watered-down this season, and we didn't see as much of Sayid either.

However, I'm ecstatic about the Desmond nomination.

No, Alda was going to win but they felt it'd be too depressing to have Smits lose his running mate and the election, so they gave him the win

How did the episode when Foreman nearly died not get nominated? Omar Epps always gets screwed. He was fantastic on E.R back when E.R meant something and had a few good dramatic guest roles on other shows and those episodes of House were much better then anything from West Wing or Grey's Anatomy.
