Guest Smues Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 Boo for POTC continueing to rake in the cash. Boo for Little Man making any money, much less 20 million. Yay for POTC keeping both Little Man and You,Me, and Dupree from having a shot at opening #1. Edit: The Devil wears Prada is up to 80 million and looking like it'll easily break 100? How the hell did that happen?
bob_barron Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 Counter-programming. Pirates isn't breaking Titanic's record, I think it will top out at around 400 mil
Guest NYankees Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 Edit: The Devil wears Prada is up to 80 million and looking like it'll easily break 100? How the hell did that happen? Chick Flick. How many girls want to go see POTC or Superman or Click. Plus Anne Hathaway has decent success.

Sideburnious Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 I'm glad little man is doing well as I like the Wayan bro's. But I know when I eventually see it, i'll probably hate it.
buffybeast Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 Edit: The Devil wears Prada is up to 80 million and looking like it'll easily break 100? How the hell did that happen? Easy: The book was an international bestseller. The people that read the book are now flocking to see the film version.

Mole Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 And I'm sure that Streep lady helps a little bit. A lot of older women are in love with her.

razazteca Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 The fact that "Little Man" is #2 proves once again that the majority of film goers are idiots who will watch anything. The Wayan Brothers can do no wrong.
Vyce Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 258 million in just, what? 10 days? Is that some sort of new record?
RedJed Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 It's a very unusual rarity that I try to catch a movie around here and its sold out or limited capacity, but tried to go see POTC now twice in the last week and both times have been met with a "sold out" when I get there (which is usually 10 min after it starts so I dont have to sit through mindless product commercials even before the trailers) so they are doin something right here. Hope to finally check it out later in the week.
Guest Hotbutter Spoontoaster Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 How many girls want to go see POTC What the fuck you talking about?
Lord of The Curry Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 Owen Wilson, you have officially been taken down a peg in Hollywood. The Waynes Bros. will never let anybody hear the end of this. "Man, if it weren't for Johnny Depp and his eyeliner we woulda had that spot!"
2GOLD Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 Looks like Superman won't be the #1 Super hero film of the summer. I'm actually surprised by that since Superman was everywhere. Soda, chips, cereal, pop tarts and I'm pretty there were some Superman tampons. I can't prove it, but I'm sure they existed. Hasn't done as great as I thought it would do Worldwide either. Not sure what happened exactly. It's not a bomb (course if we go by the production budget of 260 million, it needs 60 million to break even) but I'm shocked it didn't do too well. Sixth for the summer, needs 31 million to get past Ice Age 2 and I believe it will get that so 5th.
Lord of The Curry Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 "More absorbant then the leading pad, stopping periods that flow faster then a locomotive........"
Guest Retro Rob Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 At this pace, Superman has a good chance of not even outgrossing Batman.
The Niggardly King Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 I knew Little Man would take the #2 spot. YES! It was the best shitty comedy of the year....
SuperJerk Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 Looks like Superman won't be the #1 Super hero film of the summer. I'm actually surprised by that since Superman was everywhere. They over-hyped it to the point that by the time it finally came out people were sick of hearing about it. And I think a lot of parents were so turned off by the Superman/Lois love-child angle that repeat business was hurt. People were expecting something more kid-friendly, I would think.
Damaramu Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 I just don't understand Little Man....he has a tattoo! Do they explain why a baby has a tattoo or does nobody notice? It's like White Chicks.....nobody noticed they weren't the original girls?
Youth N Asia Posted July 19, 2006 Report Posted July 19, 2006 Little Man beat Dupree??? Wow, not like I think Dupree looks like a great movie or anything, but I thought Owen Wilson and Kate Hudon would be enough to take "From the creator of White chicks..." I knew Pirates would outdraw Supes. But I didn't think it'd be by that much that fast.
A Happy Medium Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 Terry Crew was 80% of what made me watch "White Chicks" in its entirety.
Ripper Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 I don't get it. The Wayans make a movie every year, people always get shocked when it makes alot of money. This is like the 4 or 5th one in a row that has made a ton of money. Why are people shocked. I personally refuse to watch this just like I refused to watch White Chicks.
