WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2007

Recommended Posts

Fair warning: That review has a spoiler for what sounds like one very odd storyline twist, which you'll either find awfully amusing or just awful.

Examples of just some of the stories you'll see includes a pack of small wrestlers banding together to take out their larger competition; one of SmackDown's biggest names betrays his brand right before the Survivor Series;

and your character is transformed into a hot young woman while feuding with Edge thanks to a magic wand

I'm surprised they gave Tazz his ECW music. I was worried a few weeks back when I saw a screen of him wrestling in his suit, but thankfully he's in his singlet. Yeah, it sucks that Bigelow doesn't have any music, but whatever... I usually turn entrances off after about a week or two.

Tazz actually has his ECW music??????!!!

That's freaking badass.

Edit: Just watched his intro...and I marked.

It's true. It's damn true.

Aren't the WWE writers working on these games? I think this is proof they're on some big time mind altering drugs

Some people are saying the Angle thing turns out to be a dream. Which would make sense... if not, wow what were they smoking when they wrote that one.

Anyway, I found these clips of two of the new moves:

Roderick Strong/Jamie Noble style gut buster: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMZVGrFKtYc

Curb Stomp (with sadly not much impact):

And someone on GameFaqs posted this list of Special Table Moves:

Triple H - Pedigree

Kane - Chokeslam

Edge - Spear (Table in Corner)

Kurt Angle - Angle Slam

John Cena - FU

Undertaker - Chokeslam

Batista - Batista Bomb

Ric Flair - Pulling Piledriver

Umaga - Splash in Corner (Table in Corner)

Super Crazy - Hurricanrana (Table in Corner)

Rob Van Dam - Big Splash from Turnbuckle

Super Heavy - Powerbomb

Heavy - DDT

Cruiser - Bulldog

It says it depends on what stance your wrestler has. So if you gave your Rhino CAW Edge's stance. He can gore someone thru a table. Neat addition.

Also apparently all the "Stalking" moves like HBK's stomping superkick have been removed. Plus many submission moves like the Regal Stretch, Crossface Chickenwing and Trailer Hitch are now gone. As well as the "Three Stages of Hell" match option. Which really sucks...

Why would they remove moves from the game? Is it really hard to keep animation in the game?

Considering how many 360 games got much higher PS2/Xbox ratings, I'm somewhat glad that it got a comparable 8.0.

That said, wtf is with the 10-20 second load times? Could be worse, but still, average 15 seconds for a menu makes me shudder to think of a six-CAW Elimination Chamber.

EDIT: As for removed stuff...eh. Maybe it's just not unlocked yet? Doubtful, but the game isn't even released in the US so who's to say?

About the 8.0 rating IGN gave the 360 version, from what I can tell, it's actually the exact same review of the PS2 version, with a couple words changed here and there.

I've seen it confirmed on other message boards that the major difference between the two versions, other than graphics obviously, is that the PS2 CAW has the usual 32 layers, but the 360 has 64 layers.

They've only added to a nominal amount of moves to make up for this as well. Sucks huh? But that's not all. Now weight classes are now restricted as to what moves they can use.

Featherweights:

Can Use: Martial Arts, Luchadore, Old School.

Can't Use: Brawler, Technical, Power

Cruiserweights:

Can Use: Martial Arts, Luchadore, Old School, Technical

Can't Use: Brawler, Power

Light Heavyweights & Heavyweights:

Can Use: Brawler, Power, Old School, Technical

Can't Use: Martial Arts, Luchadore (WtF!)

Super Heavyweights:

Can Use: Power, Brawler, Old School

Can't Use: Luchadore, Technical, Martial Arts

Goodbye accurate CAWs! Even if they didn't take it out, you may not be able to use it anyway. I guess Yukes just doesn't know when to leave well enough alone.

I'll just try to deal with ALL THOSE MOVES BEING PULLED OUT!!!!!, damn those are a lot of moves. So with the "ultimate cool moves" are those like chain combo moves or are they just all one animation?

Actually after looking closely at the list, are those moves that was just added to the move list or are all the moves altogther?
