BlackFlagg 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2006 Lionsgate Home Entertainment has sent us full details for their upcoming Reservoir Dogs: 15th Anniversary Edition. Due on October 24th, the two-disc set will include a newly remastered anamorphic widescreen transfer (thank goodness, 'cause the last one sucked), Dolby Digital 5.1 EX and DTS-ES 6.1 tracks. Bonus materials will include select scene audio commentary, deleted scenes, a "Pulp Factoids Viewer" featuring insider info about the film and sources of inspiration, a "Playing It Fast and Loose" documentary studying the impact and ripple effect of the film, "Profiling the Reservoir Dogs" (a perspective of the criminal minds of the film's characters) and "Tipping Guide" (proper tipping etiquette Reservoir Dogs style) featurettes, K Billy's Sounds of the 70s and vintage interviews with Quentin Tarantino and others. The packaging comes in a limited edition matchbook case with a photo gallery, along with an outer metal case in the shape of a gasoline can. Retail is $19.98. FroGG_NeaL 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2006 That is so fucking badass. The matchbook design is the coolest I've seen for a DVD/CD case, and the gas can is ill as hell too.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2006 fuck this...movie studios are always trying to get more money out of us suckers...I have the original DVD release and I don't care about extras because really, I never watch them.
FroGG_NeaL 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2006 I don't own a RD DVD, and I'm a huge mark for special editions with cool extras, so I love this type of shit.
pochorenella 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2006 I also love Special Editions with all the extras and stuff, but I already own RD on DVD and I have to say I'm happy with my purchase. Unless I find this at an extra super-duper reduced price then I'm not getting it.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2006 There's no need for another edition, but damn if that isn't one of the best packages we've seen in R1.

Sideburnious 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2006 I's probably get this edition just for the case, but it's been only about 2-3 years since the last edition came out so I don't really see the point. I've only got the original edition though.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2006 I have the Mr. Pink box that came out a couple of years ago. I am not sure I need anything beyond that, although I do admit the cover is badass. I wonder why more Region 1 DVDs don't get the badass packaging that international DVDs get...
