i'v always been a mark for pinning combinations. it provides and unpredictable element and can also help a face or heel maintain heat. and it goes back to the basics, since the main goal in wrestling is to trapped your combatant in a pin. i wish wrestlers would utilize these more. i think alot of events that were precieved as burials(ie booker/hhh wm 19) wouldn't have that feeling if the insistence of using finishers wasn't so pushed.

After HHH hit the pedigree on Booker, you could have gone to the bathroom and walked back and sat down and the pinfall would have just happened. I think he took about 10 seconds to go over and pin him, which nearly killed all of Booker's overness.

anyone else notice how King and JR have totally ignored Candice Michelles face turn on RAW? Her and Trsih on the same side is weird to see since they hated each other ...oh...last month or so.

 

I mean when she was the ref and Victoria got mad at her and stuff, that basicallyconstituted a face turn since she is now hanging with Torrie and Trish.

 

I knwo its just a mid-card divas angle but usually the announcers notice things like that. even Victoria yelled "You miss me now Candice?" while she was taking a beating. they didn't even mention their past "friendship" or relationship or whatever.

 

She's a face now because she's quasi-lesbian.

 

Getting a "standing O" on RAW basically made her a face and well...men just love them some HLA (...one of Bischoff's best angles...) and thus, Candice is a face.

We most certainly do not. Booker T was terrible then. I guess he's made some mildly entertaining character improvements on Smackdown (I don't watch the show), but at the time, he was just a generic, boring, midcard face. Having Booker go over HHH that Mania would be like having Carlito go over Edge at SS this year if you made Carlito 12 years older, and if his ring skills had completely gone to shit due to age.

 

However, I do agree that the finisher thing was bullshit. I honestly thought it was about 30 seconds before he made the cover when I watched the show live, and I really expected Booker to kick out. If nothing else, it breaks kayfabe when someone jumps up and slams someone's face into the ground, and then can't even be bothered to roll over for 30 seconds to win the match.

Actually he's right, Booker T should have went over. It was planned for him to win the title off HHH at that Wrestlemania but I think within the final week before Wrestlemania it got changed to HHH beating Booker T and retaining.
