notJames Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 Man, I hope not. There's only so much nostalgia that I can have force fed to me before I pull a Mr. Creosote.
Downhome Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 I say let it be real, bring bad the Horsemen, LWO, and The Ministry, and let the gang wars run wild brutha!
Dobbs 3K Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 You can't have a real gang wars without the Nation of Domination and Los Boriquas.
Guest TheGameah Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 I'd put up with another raping of their legacy if it meant I got to pick up an nWo shirt when they came back.
Downhome Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 It's not news, but still. From PWInsider: Â 45 TO 17: A LOOK AT THE SMACKDOWN ROSTERÂ With Smackdown recently losing quite a bit of their roster to talent switches (Angle to ECW, Orton to Raw), injury (Mark Henry, Batista), and the wellness program (Lashley, Khali, etc.) I thought it might be interesting to look at the listed Smackdown roster on WWE.com and see exactly what the Friday night brand has left to work with at this point. To start, there are 45 performers on the roster page. Â We can remove the announcers (JBL, Michael Cole, The Miz, Steve Romero, Josh Mathews) and Theodore Long from the list, since they're not in-ring performers. We can also remove Ignacio a.k.a. Nacho, and I have to wonder when WWE will do the same. Â We're down to 38 performers. Â Then there's Daivari, Sharmell and the Little Bastard, who aren't regular in-ring performers, and just work at ringside of others. Â 35 performers. Â Currently out due to injury/surgery are Boogeyman, Chris Benoit, Hardcore Holly, and Mark Henry. Â 31 performers. Â Now remove all of the wrestlers who are currently (or are about to) be sat out due to the wellness program or other issues: Jamie Noble, Joey Mercury, Kid Kash, Bobby Lashley, Matt Hardy, Super Crazy, and Great Khali. Â 24 performers. Â Let's take out those who have been sent to developmental or haven't appeared on television in weeks but are still on the roster page: Jake, Jesse, Paul Burchill. Â 21 performers. Of which, four are Divas (Ashley, Jillian Hall, Kristal, Michelle McCool) and without trying to sound cruel, the Smackdown Divas aren't exactly going to be drawing viewers and fans to house shows. Â So, that leaves us with 17 in-ring performers. Â Main Eventers: King Booker T, Batista, Rey Mysterio, Undertaker. Â Semi-Main Eventers: Fit Finlay, Ken Kennedy. Â Tag Teams: Brian Kendrick & Paul London, Scotty 2 Hotty & Funaki. Â Undercard Performers: Gregory Helms, Psicosis, Simon Dean, Sylvan, Tatanka, Vito, William Regal. Â There you have it. The brand is relying on eight heels and nine babyfaces at this point. It might be a good time to call up some talent from OVW, begin cross-promotion with ECW, or start grabbing talent from the independent scene. Or, they could send over some of the talent they aren't using on Raw ... nah, never happen.
Spaceman Spiff Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 No shit. You (and Downhome) posted the same news 3 HOURS AGO IN THIS VERY THREAD!
bob_barron Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 From Meltzer on Matt Hardy;Â "Add Matt Hardy to the list of those on Smackdown who will be off after tonight's TV tapings. We've got a big lead story on all of this in the Observer" Â Also Pwinsider.com says that nothing is set in stone YET, but look for Ecw to continue on Sci Fi after the "trial period" of 12 weeks.. Â So the nightmare continues..... Â Just because the news is out there, doesn't mean you have to post it
Spaceman Spiff Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 That's his sole purpose for having an account here.
Guest nokia Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 That's his sole purpose for having an account here. Â ************************* Â What do you mean? Â Not everyone is as negative as you dude...
Spaceman Spiff Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 Careful, Czech, you don't want to get on his bad side.
Scroby Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 Is this real? I'm going with fake. Nash is with TNA, through I'm not sure if he's a contracted wrestler and Hall...well Hall is somewhere. Besides do you really think Hogan will let WWE put DX over the nWo.....ok thats a 50/50.
bob_barron Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 That's his sole purpose for having an account here. Â ************************* Â What do you mean? Â Not everyone is as negative as you dude... Â I don't know, I think it's pretty obvious what he means.
tominator89 Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 I wouldn't put it past them to book HBK/HHH vs The Outsiders.
iliketurtles Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 Ya I probably would too. Â I just get pissed off WWE always does things 3-4 years after they SHOULD of happened.
Vern Gagne Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 The WWE doesn't know what they're going to do on next weeks Raw. What makes anyone think they have Survivor Series planned out.
Vampiro69 Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 I would watch it because you would never know what would happen because of backstage politics.
EdwardKnoxII Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 You can't have a real gang wars without the Nation of Domination and Los Boriquas. Â You can't have a real gang war without guns and drugs.
Dobbs 3K Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 You can't have a real gang wars without the Nation of Domination and Los Boriquas. Â You can't have a real gang war without guns and drugs. Â Well, I think WWE can pull off at least half of that equation at this point...
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 If Jimmy Yang/Akio still under contract? What's the deal?
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 Victoria went to the hospital during the pre-Raw tapings with a knee injury, to the knee she wears the knee brace on. May or may not require surgery. Lot of "maybe" stuff in this poorly reported PWSpyware story. Â -PWSpyware
Hawk 34 Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 If Jimmy Yang/Akio still under contract? What's the deal? Â Â He re-signed with WWE a few months ago, was a regular on Velocity. Now, I assume he is just sitting. He isn't on the roster page either. Having people like Yang at home is stupid considering he has great charisma and is needed for the CW division. Â He works great with London, if they can find someone to pair with Yang they can plug them in while Pitbulls are gone.
benn Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 Any more details on why Matt Hardy will be taken off tv?
MillenniumMan831 Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 Check out Danny Doring's entrance video on this page: Â http://www.wwe.com/shows/ecw/extremists/dannydoring/profile/ Â WWE sure didn't spare any expense putting this one together. Â ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Â EDIT --- And don't forget to take a peek at Roadkill's: Â http://www.wwe.com/shows/ecw/extremists/roadkill/profile/
10 Pounds Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 That Survivor Series is fake. Most of the time, WWE will put on their posters the town where it's taking place, the date and "8 PM, call your local cable service provider". So it's just a photoshop. The ECW logo isn't the one they're using on Sci-Fi. Â Anyway, I could see how they would bring back the nWo after it bombed so badly in 2002 that Vince flushed the angle live on Raw, and DX v 4.0 just plain sucks.
World's Worst Man Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 Check out Danny Doring's entrance video on this page:Â http://www.wwe.com/shows/ecw/extremists/dannydoring/profile/ Â WWE sure didn't spare any expense putting this one together. Â ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Â EDIT --- And don't forget to take a peek at Roadkill's: Â http://www.wwe.com/shows/ecw/extremists/roadkill/profile/ Â Love the generic rock music that goes along with those too. WWE theme music is so awesome.
Cheech Tremendous Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 Not sure if this has been mentioned in any of the topics here, but a poster with a medical background over at Wrestling Classics explained that the liver problems currently plaguing the Smackdown roster are often associated with steroids that are taken orally instead of injection due to the way the body has to break them down. Don't know how much truth there is to that, but another interesting thing to consider.
