Card and predictions:

WWE Title, "If Cena loses, he goes to Smackdown", T.L.C. Match

Edge (with Lita) .VS. John Cena.

Winner: John Cena.

Hell In A Cell, Handicap Match

ECW World Heavyweight Champion, The Big Show, Vince McMahon, & Shane McMahon .VS. DX.

Winners: Big Show, Vince, & Shane.

Singles Match

Umaga (with Armando Alejandro Estrada) .VS. Kane.

Winner: Umaga.

WWE Intercontinental Title Match

Johnny Nitro (with Melina) .VS. Jeff Hardy.

Winner: Jeff Hardy.

Singles Match

Randy Orton .VS. Carlito Caribbean Cool.

Winner: Randy Orton.

World Tag Team Titles Match

The Spirit Squad .VS. The Highlanders.

Winners: The Highlanders.

WWE Women's Title, Trish's Farewell Match

Lita .VS. Trish Stratus.

Winner: Lita.

I'm going to Hooters to see this show. It's weird, Edge/Cena will probably be the best match. The HIAC should be fun, if Shane takes an 86 foot dive off the top. Hopefully Umaga kills Kane. Spirit Squad/Highlanders seems like the only boring match on the card.

Kinda sad when the only match I'm looking forward to is the one that has Jeff Hardy involved.

I'm surprised that I'm actually interested in the PPV, but I can't order since I'm working late. Depending on how it is, I might order the replay.

So, what's going to happen after Edge jobs to Cena? The marks are going to go back to hating him, Edge is going to be buried even more, and nothing more can really be done with their feud? Who does Cena feud with next?

I'm not sure what the title topic is referring to with the UFC buyrates being involved but there's no question that the UFC show next Saturday will absolutely demolish this show in terms of buyrate.

I too don't understand why they'd give the belt back to Cena again when he has no top level heel to feud with other than Edge (and the thought of Umaga in that spot makes me physically ill). I mean, yeah I know why they'd give him the belt back....The Marine. But what is this? Why just because a guy has a movie coming out does he need the belt back? Do they seriously think people sit around thinking "Oh gee, the WWE champion is in a movie....I gotta see this shit RIGHT NOW!" The people who will go see The Marine will see it regardless of whether Cena has the title or not, and those who don't care about Cena or The Marine won't go anyway.

Anyway, this PPV should be a good one with the proper booking.

Just wondering but how many PPVs does the UFC have per year? WWE has a buttload of PPVs, so maybe they've oversaturated the market in a way that UFC hasn't.

The live tv shows will be good...but professional wrestling and boxing have both shown that too many ppvs can be a bad thing (both financially & in value for the fans). UFC has already had some pretty weak undercards (Tito/Shammy 2) as they've increased their ppv totals. I don't see how UFC can pull off monthly ppvs and still have excellent cards, unless they buy out some other group(s) or something

Even if the quality drops slightly and they start getting a few less buys, you'd have to assume that they've budgeted that it's good business to put out 12 PPVs at a time when the product is hot and that overall they'll be selling more PPVs a year than with less PPVs even if they are of a slightly higher quality.

It worked well for WCW's projections...

I really think that a big reason for UFC's ppv success is that they only happen every other month or so...so a good card can be built, with competitive fights with more than just two recognizable names. The recent Rematch ppv, with that hideous undercard, is probably the best/worst example of how monthly UFC ppvs could turn out.

Its Cena/Edge again after Unforgiven folks. Once the filler match at Cyber Sunday is done, (doesn't matter who Cena faces just like it didn't matter who he faced last year or who HHH faced in 2004) we'll have the two of them in yet another gimmick match as SS, which will hopefully be the blowoff.

It's too bad this show is getting overlooked because it actually looks decent on paper. Overbooked to the extreme, sure, but it shouldn't be too bad overall. Now, for predictions:

Edge vs. Cena (WWE title, TLC, Cena goes to SD if he loses): One of two overkill gimmick matches on the show, but this one has potential to be pretty good. The crowd will be way into it and both guys are capable of doing some good spots. The Edge/Flair TLC was way better than it should've been, and Cena is more versatile in the ring than Flair right now, even if he doesn't often get to show it. I think he'll bring it here, as Cena's at his best when crowds hate him. As far as the winner goes, I'm going against the recent report, and say that Edge wins. Over the last couple of weeks the Raw writers seem to have become competent, so I'll be nice and give them the benefit of the doubt and say the trend continues. Edge wins with help (possibly a hired hitman from SD commissioned by Long).

Big Show and McMahons vs. DX (Handicap HIAC): Overkill gimmick match #2, but this looks considerably less exciting. I imagine Shane and Michaels will take big bumps, and at least 4 people will blade. Lots of weapons and silliness, but enough brutality to keep it interesting. Match quality should be similar to Michaels vs. Vince at Mania. I say the McMahons and Show win to keep the feud going, unfortunately.

Nitro vs. Hardy (IC title): Nitro has been a lame duck champion since winning the belt at Vengeance. Despite the potential of Raw's midcard the IC belt has somehow managed to reamain one of the most heatless belts in the company. I assume the match will be good, and Hardy wins, as it's too soon to job him and he already took a screwjob on Raw.

Spirit Squad vs. Highlanders (Tag titles): Oddly enough, this is probably the least interesting match on the show. You'd think that with 2 real teams and Ken Doane getting ppv time, that wouldn't be the case. I think this match could surprise, but it's more likely to be very boring. Highlanders win because the SS is worthless.

Trish vs. Lita (Women's title): Well, if Lita can bring it like she did on Raw a couple weeks ago, this one could be decent. I haven't been impressed with their singles matches in the past, but hopefully they both pull out inspired performances for this one. I still think Trish/Mickie would've been better, but oh well. Trish has been booked very well recently, so I think she wins here, and the title is vacated for a happy sendoff in front of her home town.

Umaga vs. Kane: Battle of the monsters at least has the correct build going in. The match probably won't be that good, and I don't know how many people take Kane's chances seriously. Umaga wins, obviously.

Randy Orton vs. Carlito: I don't think this will be the MOTYC that Jim Ross tells us it will be, but it should be a solid match. If Orton keeps the chinlocking down and Carlito sets up his big spots, this one could be in ***+ territory. If not, you're looking at pretty average match at best. Normally I'd say Orton wins by cheating, but since he's in the doghouse again, I say his cheating backfires and Carlito picks up the win.

No doubt. Which is why they've added two big gimmick matches, (T.L.C. & HIAC), to try to sway that.

--A preview of Unforgiven. I expect a far better than usual "B" show, largely because the crowd is going to be hot, particularly for the Edge .VS. John Cena main event, and probably the women's match will be given more time than any women's match on PPV in a while:

--TLC with John Cena .VS. Edge. Everyone expects Cena to be booed out of the place and Edge is going to work babyface for the building but heel for the cameras. It's the role Bret Hart did so well in 1997, but it's not the easiest one to pull off. If Cena loses, he goes to Smackdown for 3 years. Edge has never lost a TLC match (okay, he has) and Cena has never been in one. I expect a great match, and unless there is a last minute change of plans nobody sees coming, this should be a title change.

--Shawn Michaels & Triple H .VS. Vince & Shane McMahon & Big Show in a Hell in a Cell. This will be a bloodbath. There will be weapons galore, probably a crazy bump by Shane and likely quite the spectacle. With DX selling so much in the build-up, one would suspect they go over, but probably with a storyline twist thrown in.

--Lita .VS. Trish Stratus for the women's title. Both of these women are leaving soon, with this being Stratus' last match. When the match and idea were first put together, the end result was to give people the storybook career ending of Stratus winning the title in her final match. Lita has had her ups and downs in the ring since coming back, but looked her best in a six-way on Raw two weeks ago. Hopefully she'll be able to keep it together because there are no second chances to get this one right.

--Johnny Nitro .VS. Jeff Hardy for the IC title. You'll get effort. I can see the title changing hands, but I don't know how many titles you want changing on the same show, so maybe Nitro escapes.

--Spirit Squad .VS. Highlanders for the tag titles. It wouldn't shock me for the titles to change here as well. This will probably be shorter then most of the matches.

--Randy Orton .VS. Carlito. The sleeper in that they should have a good match but it's mid-card. Both kind of have something to prove and the crowd will be with it I'd suspect if the wrestlers go above and beyond. The original plan was to groom Orton for Triple H later this year, which makes him the favorite to win, but he's not done himself many favors politically of late. If DX continues as planned, I can see Orton & Edge as a tag team since McMahons don't work house shows and I can't see them doing the Cade & Murdoch thing much longer or on PPV.

--Kane .VS. Umaga. I can't imagine Kane winning. They've done a Kane via DQ win on house shows, but more likely I'd see Armando interfering and leading to a Umaga win. I wasn't much interested in this, but they did a strong physical angle on Monday and if they can keep up that intensity, the match will be good. With Cena .VS. Edge having run its course, Cena needs a new contender and Umaga holds wins over everyone and that's not by accident, so he needs a win here to keep that streak going, figuring Cena .VS. Umaga will be the next challenge.

I'm hoping for a PPV exclusive Cryme Time vignette. Also, Umaga has slowly become a favourite of mine, so I am looking forward to the monster match-up. The rest of the card I find interesting as well.

This will be the first PPV event hosted at my house since Survivor Series 94 (although this is the first time since 1997 I've had PPV ordering ability).

Is Dusty Rhodes part of the booking team if he is I bet he tried to get every match to be a gimmick match.

Other than the Intercontinental Title match, the other matches just don't interest me and I'm sick to death of the top two feuds going right now.

I'm hoping Edge retains again, but of course WWE is going to continue shoving beyond boring babyface Cena down our throats so I think he's getting back and fuck WWE if they do that.

I can see Trish winning and WWE retiring the Womens Championship since they don't seem to give a shit about the division anymore and the title will be Trish's going away present, but I don't like that and I hope Lita wins as well.

If Carlito wins, IMO its because of Orton fucking up again.

So my picks:

Edge

D-X

Lita

Jeff Hardy (new champ)

Highlanders (new champs)

Orton

OOOOOMAGA

I cant believe that one of the promos they run on random channels is actually for Trish's last match. A Women's match getting hype for a PPV..

Personally, the card looks good and if the show as $30 Id order it but $40 is too much for a card that looks good but is also predictable.

As usual I will wait to watch this on WWE 24/7 :D

Becuase there is no way in hell I"m paying 40 bucks for a WWE PPV....If it was 20 then maybe, still a long shot though!

40 dollars for a normal WWE pay-per-view is outrageous. Seriously, I get them on dvd for 13 bucks with my Best Buy discount, lately I haven't even thought it worth it for that price.
