What are some of the most disappointing matches of all time ? Two great wrestlers or tag teams that just couldn't put on a bad match but did. A few off the top of my head would be:

Shawn Michaels vs MR. Perfect Summerslam 93

HHH vs Kurt Angle Unforgiven 2000

Chris Benoit vs Kurt Angle Backlash 01 (ultimate submissions match)

Chris Benoit vs Eddy Guerrerro (any wwe singles match)

Shane McMahon vs Big Show

Shane McMahon vs Test

Shane McMahon vs Kurt Angle

Shane McMahon vs Vince McMahon

Vince vs Austin

Vince vs Hogan

Vince vs HHH

Stephanie vs Trish

Stephanie vs Lita

I think someone missed the point of the thread. If anything, each of those matches looked like shit on paper and ended up being entertaining. Who expected a McMahon to be in a **** match ever?

no way dude. They had a match on Raw in 2001 that BLEW US ALL AWAY. It was fucking amazing. It was on the same Raw as Trish/Rock vs Dudley's, if I remember correctly.

I am totally honored to have had the chance to see themface each other live, and in a great match.

Anyway to contribute to the thread, Edge v Christian never really tore up the house.

I agree with Jericho/Austin. Those two never clicked for some reason.

The Booker/Angle series should've been a lot less boring than it was. At least we had Kurt raving about guttersluts and bestiality sex.

Chris Benoit vs Eddie Guerrero - especially the one from ONS. I never thought these two had great chemistry together but they should have been capable of doing better than that.

Edge vs Matt Hardy - SummerSlam - I LOVED this match, or should I say fight. The way this was done was awesome... but then it ended after 5 minutes. WTF? I loved the streetfight aspect to it. Just hard hitting fists and kicks but they should have given them at least 15 minutes. It was different and very good and then they decide to do a ref-stoppage. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Eddy/Rey in WWE. None of their matches came close to the stuff they were doing in WCW.

The Edge vs. Christian feud was really disappointing. The best match was probably the Cage Match and even then I expected better from these two.

Speaking of Christian, Christian vs. Jericho vs. RVD from Unforgiven a couple of years back should have been great, but ended up being one of the most boring matches of the year.

In WCW, the king of disappointments is Sting/Hogan from Starrcade 1997. Now I didn't expect much in terms of style from those two, but it still should have been fun and enjoyable with the NWO finally getting what was coming to them and the whole thing ended up being a disaster.

I'll back up the Hogan vs Sting match from Starrcade. I'm not saying Sting should've squashed Hogan, but he should've gotten more offense than he did. After Hogan spent the previous year and a half being terrified of Sting, he destroyed him for most of the match. I only remember Sting getting in a little of his brawling moves and a couple dropkicks for his offense. All this buildup and it leads to one of the dumbest uses of the 'Dusty Finish' in history.

Well they botched the fast count with ...a slow count...I WONDERRRRR how that one happened.

Anyways speaking of sting....

Sting vs Bret Hart was disappointing for me being a fan of both for years.

Good call on Sting/Hart. That should've been a great match, but turned into a slow, boring mess.

Every Angle/Taker match (save for the godly NWO 2006 encounter) was dissappointing to me. Usually, Angle was made to look horribly inferior, and often out-mat-wrestled by UT. Not to mention, bad finishes all around. Even the SD rematch this year had the same problem with Taker dominating the action and Angle looking like he was about to get pinned before Henry interfered. NWO was the only time they ever did the match right, and not surprisingly, it worked very well.

I was really disappointed we never got a Savage-Steamboat rematch (in the WM4 tourney 2nd round) after their classic WM3 match. It may not have been as good as the WM3 match, but it would have been nice to see Savage go over.

Also, I was hugely disappointed in the Hogan-Flair house show run in the early 1990's - the main event I saw at the Hershey Park Arena was a boring 5 min count out.
