naiwf Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 $200 million sure doesn't buy what it used to. Leyland for President!
Guest Paul Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 Congrats to the 2006 Detroit Tigers. It's gonna be a long flight back to NY, again.
Guest Smues Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 THERE SURE AS FUCK BETTER BE SOME YELLING AND SCREAMING IN THAT LOCKER ROOM RIGHT NOW!!!!! Congratulations to the Tigers. Great victory. The media didn't see that one coming. I didn't either, but then again I'm a pessimist. I'm excited for the ALCS. I'd love to see Oakland make it to the series but either team is fine with me.
Guest Smues Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 Cano with the clutch groundout. The Tigers are going on to the NLCS! Uh oh Leyland doesn't usually fare so well in the NLCS.
naiwf Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 So who's the first Yankee to get fired? The Cash-man.
Guest Smues Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 I think the air-raid sirens are going to be going off in New York. Steinbrenner is about to nuke his team to bits and start over. It'll be like in Animal House..."TORRE...GONE! CASHMAN...GONE! K/E/A-ROD...GONE!" Where's that C-pac quote when we need it?
The Man in Blak Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 Cano with the clutch groundout. The Tigers are going on to the NLCS! Uh oh Leyland doesn't usually fare so well in the NLCS. God dammit.
KingPK Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 Awesome celebration. The '06 ALCS should be pretty damn good.
The Man in Blak Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 So who's the first Yankee to get fired? The Cash-man. I think Torre and Cashman hit the street at the same time. I can't imagine Torre emerging unscathed after today's batting order.
Spaceman Spiff Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 Ha! I liked Leyland going over to kiss his daughter & wife (?), and some other dude comes up to the screen & puckers up, so Leyland kisses the brim of the dude's hat.
Just John Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 The best part about the Yankees losing was that MLB message board. E-Fraud's a 65 on the choke-meter. What teh fauk.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 THIS is how you do a celebration!
DrVenkman PhD Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 Rogers pouring the champagne on the officer was great.
Craig Th Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 Good job Tigers, but you're only going to the ALCS. Don't celebrate too much.
Hawk 34 Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 I love this celebration as it's so much better then the boring "stand in a circle in the locker room/center of venue" and awkwardly high five people.
Justice Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 Kenny Rogers is the fucking man. He just poured champagne on what looked to be a State Trooper.
Guest Smues Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 Damn I wish I had a TV here so I could see this celebration. I could turn on the radio and listen to the Yankee lady explode but it wouldn't be as fun.
DrVenkman PhD Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 Good job Tigers, but you're only going to the ALCS. Don't celebrate too much. If you're, say, the Yankees, that would be the way to look at a win like this. This, however, is a team that lost 119 games in 2003. This IS big.
Guest Felonies! Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 I love this celebration as it's so much better then the boring "stand in a circle in the locker room/center of venue" and awkwardly high five people. Ah yes, the joys of winning at home. Having the White Sox clinch in Houston just made the whole damn month even more anti-climactic, as if that was possible.
KingPK Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 Seeing the final out again, it was almost the EXACT same play as the final out of the '04 ALCS, a slow grounder to the second baseman.
snuffbox Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 That was fun to watch. Still is, actually.
Justice Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 And Leyland gets DRENCHED by two passing players during an interview.
Guest Paul Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 ESPN is gonna cry. So is FOX. There goes the ratings.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 I'm surprised no one complained about the celebration. That's not professional! Props to the Tigers for being a truly accessible team. Kenny gave booze to the commoners!
