MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2007 That was a pretty boring episode of Prime Time. Alfred Hayes subs for Heenan and Monsoon nixed the promised Fuji Stand-Up comedy vignette. The debate where Heenan was censored was kinda funny. If they show the next episode (which I guess they will) then you'll be glad to know Heenan is back and the Fuji / Muraco Stand Up Comedy segment from TNT is also shown If for whatever reason they don't, the Muraco/Fuji comedy skit is on the Online 24/7. I don't know if it's worth $1.49 by itself but it's godawful in a good way. Mean Gene even gets to give the duo the bird in a subtle way when they poke fun of him. Fuji asking about Tropical Issues is great as well.

Guest jonnymack Report post Posted April 16, 2007 Charter finally hooked up WWE 24/7, not sure how long they've had it but I just noticed it. What a great service, although I agree with earlier sentiments that they can provide more of the hourly show. I just got done watching 2 out of 3 falls Rey/Psychosis on ECW, followed by the Mercury ladder match followed by some old promo's from WCW/NWA back in 85. Which brings me to my point, where the hell are the good promo's in wrestling? I mean Flair absolutely lit it up, Dusty Rhodes was..well it's Dusty man, Arn Anderson killed it too. I mean the only real reason to watch that show was the promos. It's a damn shame they don't teach these guys how to do a good promo anymore. Watching WWE 24/7 makes it REAL hard to watch the current WWE product. Love the service, wish WWE creative would spend more time watching this stuff.
Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2007 watched (and dvd recorded of course) everything except for wcw mayhem, last thing I watched was the greatest managers program (now I don't need to get the dvd lol) to note, the qulaity has gotten better for me, the picture isnt freezing up and/or having pixel problems anymore. after seeing a NWA W.C.W. episode, man the 80s NWA tapes must have been kept in great condition cuz they look brand new, not even any lines on the videotape(contrast to some older wwe footage)

spman 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 I watched some of the 11/20/84 MSG Show that just got put up today, and from what I saw, it was pretty lame, just the lowest of the low jobbers fighting even bigger jobbers, in 10 minute matches. It does feature Bobby Heenan in a totally striahgt match though, which is odd. No gimmick, no comedy, no storyline, just a normal match with Bobby Heenan wrestling a jobber. Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Having watches the Armageddon ladder match, I'm surprised Mercury was the only serious injury. How the hell didn't Regal break his neck after that Sliced Bread #2 off the ladder? Or Kendrick, for that matter? That spot looked all kinds of fucked up. They were too close to the ropes to hit that move correctly, as Kendrick didn't have enough room to rotate over on the move (otherwise he would've ended up hitting the ropes or landing outside the ring). Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2007 Just watched a preview for april on my OD menu and it says that sometime this month the new Big One will be WWE Judgment Day 2002 (ultra rare since the dvd for the show was wwe shopzone exclusive and hard to find now) which has stuff like HHH-Jericho HIAC (which I have never seen) and Angle vs Edge, where Kurt has his head shaved for the first time. Don't forget the epic battle betwen 'Taker and Hulk Hogan! well there's a reason I skipped that/ anyhow I watched it thi smorning and it was quite good. every match except for hogan vs taker was at least decent (and the trish/stacy match was really short so) you have good stuff like eddie/rvd, angle-edge, Jericho-HHH, even Show/Flair was Austin was a fun, fast paced match (with fun spots like a dueling whoo-what chant during flair and austins chop battle), Brock-Heyman vs Hardys was fun and quick mostly cuz of Pauls coward act. as for music edits here, lets count them 1.Stacys Kid rock theme replaced by genric music(different than the usual one that was used in the SD games on ps2), 2. edges rob zombie well thats per the usual), 3.Hogans Jimi Hendrix theme replaced by Real American (by the way, why wasnt he using real american at this point it would have made more sense, just like the fact he was still called Hollywood Hogan here and had the dyed beard still, almost looks like a hybrid Hulkster here) plus they had to blur out the Scratch WWF logo on the belts (since they hadnt made new belts yet as this was like 2 weeks after the name change), plus Tim Whites ref shirt. Perhaps the show theme was edited too but I don't remember if that show had a real song on it or not. and no wonder Tim White had to retire, that was a sick bump he took into the cage, and then Jericho violently threw him into the cage again. and I had to laugh seeing "Deacon Batista" with the collection box around his neck. weird how WWE never went with a full-on Dvon vs Buh Buh feud as that was a nice beating he gave Buh Buh here, motnths later they reunited for no given reason WCW Mayhem notes, they kept most of the original themes except for Stings (seek and destroy replaced by genric rock soundalike) and Bret Harts (even though it was just an instrumental song, for some reason wwe always edits this even on the dvds) yet Benoits last WCW theme (with the silent but violent soundbite) is on here despite being edited off benoits dvd set (my head hurts from all this legal stuff). man now I got that stupid Konnan song "Pyscho" stuck in my head. the show was ok, but even bret-benoit was kind of just there (with all the stupid russo overbooking), Bret-Sting also sucked due to not enough time and stupid interference by Luger. but all in all it made me miss wcw some more, even with the bad russo era. still to watch all new stuff like Backlash 2003, New Monday Night War for 1/6/97, new NWA episode, new TNT episode new WCCW episode, new Legends roundtable about wrestlings great feuds

Guest JedFR Report post Posted April 23, 2007 I am new here to the forums. I have Charter here in the Traverse City-Cadillac, Michigan Market Area and have WWE 24/7. Is there anyone on the forum also from the same area as me? I have to say it is great to finally have WWE 24/7 added to the On Demand menu. The reason why I am replying to this thread for some odd reason I DO NOT see the new shows that started on April 18th. I contacted both Charter (via Chat and stopped at my local Charter bill payment office) and WWE (via email but no response yet). Charter both via the Chat and local Charter office told me that they are unable to help me with the issue. The person via the Chat told me to unplug the power cable from my box and plug it back in after 30 seconds and they even gave it a hit then both options were unhelpful. I hope I will get a reply from WWE real soon about the issue.
zappafrank 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2007 Can we have a pinned thread for problems with WWE 24/7? I know some posts exist in the general WWE 24/7 thread, but I think it might be good to have something set aside just for issues with the service itself, at least for the time being. I live in Pittsburgh and have Comcast, and I entountered a well-known "missing buckets" problem when the presentation changed from 6 buckets (categories) to 4. I've reprinted part of my e-mail to WWE below (still unanswered almost 2 weeks later; other problem have creeped up since then). Someone local at Comcast is looking into things for me, but we've been playing phone tag for a few days. One possibility he suggested has to do with the vendors of the actual equipment itself, and that for some reason they have some say over what can be added for any On Demand, content-wise. I have a friend who lives in town and who also has Comcast, although it's converted from a former cable provider. He has received all of the content, but his area and mine use different equipment, so maybe there's some truth to what I was told (the few people with whom I talked before I got this guy kept saying it was WWE's problem). I never ever received the '88 Boston Garden show, nor have I received Armageddon '06. According to this website (http://www.sunflowerbroadband.com/cable/ondemand/upcoming/?network=wwe), it should already have been available for a while. The Capt Lou Legends came and went and came again on my system, so something is definitely messed up (the WWE 24/7 wiki even has a section on technical difficulties). It should be noted, though, that this schedule does not list Backlash 03, which is indeed available. Also, my friend has a Legends show on rivalries which I don't have and which is not on that schedule, so that's even more confusion. So I have no idea what's up, and was just wondering what problems other people might be encountering. ------ Apparently, those with "by category" presentation were not receiving all of the 24/7 content, and when I checked on my system (which presents by category), instead of 6 categories, I was in fact showing only 2 cateogories, Big Ones and Shorties. I called Comcast and they noted my problem, and a few days later 2 more categories (TV Classics and Legends) appeared. As I understand it, these 4 categories are the correct categories. However, there still appears to be missing content. I know that a WWE Boston Garden show from 1988 currently is available via 24/7, but in my cable system, this show does not appear anywhere in any of the categories, and has not done so since I first became aware of it last week. The people at Comcast told me that the problem is on WWE's end, and that they simply make available what WWE sends them. Essentially, they told me that if I'm not seeing something, it's because WWE has not sent it to them.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2007 my first time watching Backlash 03...it's funny to see heel John Cena get cheers while face Brock Lesnar gets boos.
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2007 The show was in Massachusetts, so the "home town" factor probably contributed to Cena getting cheers. Brock got a big pop for the win, though.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2007 yeah but didn't he cut an anti-Boston promo prior to? you also had that same effect in the Rock (heel)/Goldberg (face) match. What an odd match that was...workrate-wise, it wasn't that good, but the Rock's mannerisms were probably the best I had ever seen in a match.
