Mik Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 $4. It's probably never more then $20. I only use cash for the coffee store I prefer that doesn't accept credit card.
Black Lushus Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 $10, just in case...I almost always use my check card.
TheFranchise Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 £10.63 That has to last me til Sunday. £6 a day to get to work, and I work tomorrow too.
Hawk 34 Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 Never anymore then $20 and even that's excessive.
Guest Smues Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 It varies, but I keep $50-60 in small bills always just incase it's needed.
Guest Princess Leena Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 About $500. I don't like using credit cards. I don't trust myself.
Wyld Cannon Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 $10, just in case...I almost always use my check card. exact same answer. Leena, i will be mugging you post haste.
Guest Princess Leena Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 I only have that much because I'm shopping for a Wii. Really don't want the CC while doing that. And, I'd kill you.
Black Lushus Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 not even a check card? those things are heavenly! the only drawbacks to check cards is that there are still a number of merchants that don't bother IDing the person, anyone could use your card. Especially places with self checkout lanes. also, idiot cashiers/wait staff that will run your card over and over because it won't ring up the first time...they just keep on running it until it finally says OK.
CanadianGuitarist Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 What exactly is a cheque card? Far as I know they're not available in Canada...It's like a pre-paid credit card right? If it withdraws from a chequing account, why use that instead of debit? To answer the topic: I make a point to carry two fives, a ten and a twenty. That doesn't happen nearly as often as I'd like though. Both jobs are direct deposit.
Matt Young Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 $642... But when I leave the house, I'll only take as much as I need. Speaking of need, I need to get myself a bank account out here.

Guest Legalise Drugs and Murder Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 Around $300. My credit is atrocious. I have one card with a $500 limit, and I find checks abhorrent.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 Ive got a shiny new nickel and 2 $1 winning scratch off lottery tickets.
NoCalMike Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 About $4, it's whats left after I collected $5 per person from all the group at the PPV last week, and then got $20 of gas, and then yesterday bought a breakfast burrito and coffee from AM/PM....
v.2 Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 2 fives and 5 ones. I budget myself in cash, and I prefer to not use my credit cards.
Dandy Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 $0 at the moment. I used to carry loads of cash on me, sometimes as much as a grand at a time. When I was paid cash every night at my job, most of it went into my safe at home or in my pocket. I would make deposits into my checking account every other week or so. Now that I don't have a "get paid in cash" job, I have it directly deposited in my checking account every Thursday night (Friday morning) at midnight. I use my Debit Card for everything, and get cash out when cash is needed. I prefer this way over what I did in the past, but it was nice to have cash on you in case you ran into a situation where you could not use your card. Oh, and I don't carry a wallet anymore.
2GOLD Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 52 bucks, I had to take it out to finish my Christmas shopping. I never keep more than 40 bucks in my wallet in assorted bills at a time usually. The good old check card works for everything and what it doesn't work for, isn't worth more than 40 dollars.
gWIL Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 $52. Quite a bit more than normal, for whatever reason.
Red Baron Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 $15 Bones in the wallet and about $5 dollars in change in the car.
Mr. S£im Citrus Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 $150 Pay cash or do without, that's what my pops taught me...
Man Who Sold The World Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 5 doll hairs. That's my standard.
