Ah. Three plays stick out to me from the Jet/Pats game.

1) Obviously the tipped pass for a fumble.

2) On 3rd and 8th I think it was, around midfield, after the Jets took the lead, they had Brady, well Vilma did, and he just ran right past him going for the ball, and didn't get the sack. Later on they ended up tying the game at 10.

3) This is more of a bunch of plays where Rhodes, Barrett and Miller had shots at INTs, and two of them might have been a clear path to the endzone, but they couldn't get the ball.

I know it's not much of a surprise to much people that the Jets lost, but it still hurts, especially seeing Belichek celebrating like they won the Super Bowl followed by hugging Mangini as if he would've done the same had they lost the game. But I like the way the Jets played, till the final few minutes of the game.

I see Eli's already off to the "chuck it deep in the air (underthrown by at least a yard or two of course) and hope Plax jumps over someone to make a play" gameplan. Not a good sign.

Yeah he is.

Regarding the last Giants punt:

"Some wonder why Tyree can't catch more of those like that when he plays WR"

"Well, It's probably a tighter spiral than he's used to"

Fucking BURN. By the announcers.

You know, I was really surprised with the Giants' effinciency and Plax of all people making big plays on that first drive. But now it looks like the real Giants have shown up, and it isn't pretty. How many false starts do they want?

They learned that trick from Seattle.

See y'all next year since Eli's got 2 or 3 more picks in him. 31-10 Philly sounds about right here.

The Jets problem was the defensive front. When you bring 6 or 7 guys and still can't pressure the QB you are going to lose. Their blitz was worse than a normal pass rush from a better team.

Edit: Eli threw to Shockey...must have mistaken him for someone else.

Do you ever root for the teams you support?

The Giants had 3 possessions on the Eagles side of the field and got 7 points. Westbrook waltzed to the end zone unscathed basically. Eli is being Eli. Unlike the homers on this board if my team is playing like shit I don't expect them to win. The Knicks are terrible. The Mets lost all of their starting pitching during the end of last year's regular season and blew their best chance to win a WS since 1986. Rooting in situations like that is pretty stupid when you can pencil in losses unless they play a perfect game/series and the opponents help out too. There's a reason no pro team I really like has won a title since January 27, 1991. Rooting doesn't change things on the field.

EDIT: First and goal from the THREE -> 3 points. So they've had 4 possessions in plus territory, held the Eagles to 3 straight 3 and outs, and it's tied. Same old Giants.

You bashed the Giants early in the game when they COMPLETED like a 20+ yard pass. You kept your mouth shut when they SCORED. That's just weird.

Eli chucked one up and Plax jumped over someone to make a catch when it should have been picked. That's been their "best" play so far which means I knew things were not going to go well for Eli. If Eli plays like Rex Grossman on a bad day the Giants can't win. Anyone else watching this game can't feel confident unless Garcia throws a few pick 6's.

How did Runyan get 2 cheapshots in, not get a second penalty AND stay in the game after all of that? Bullshit.

I see SB Glory Days performance by the Patriots here. That being an unnecessarily close game where the opponents really have no hope, but the score stays close to fuck with their fans.

Yeah, that's pretty much how it went. This should be a clear example to the rest of the league that, unless you wear #18 (and even that doesn't do the trick every time), you need to RUN the ball to have any success in the postseason and teams with smothering run defenses usually have the most success.

Next week's AFC games look like must sees. The NFC.....not so much.
