Eagles never should have punted after that false start penalty. But, hey, now I don't have to listen to endless praise about the team on local sports radio, so yay me.

So when does the hate on Garcia start.. or the fan to call up and spout "Koy would've won us the game.."?

I expect about a 20 minute rant on the subject Monday around noon when Jim Rome starts receiving e-mails and calls from the clones.

Thank God this shit with the Eagles and Jeff Garcia is over. Of course the Saints literally tried to hand it to them on a silver platter at the end, but Andy Reid apparently said "Why thank you, but no we'll just punt it here." How on earth do you punt in that situation, even with 2 time outs?

Anyone else find it hilarious that the NFC totally sucks, yet all of the playoff games have been incredibly dramatic affairs? Seahawks/Cowboys with Romo fucking up, Philly/NYG last week, and now this game. Meanwhile the AFC has had these ultra dull Colts snoozers against the Ravens and Chiefs.

I'm looking forward to the games tomorrow.

I wouldn't say the NFC is the inferior conference at all. It's evident to see by how the #2 seed in the AFC played today, and how many of the teams in those playoffs played in losing.

Awesome. I cheered for the Saints when I was a kid (back in the Bobby Hebert-Ironhead Heyward days), and I still have a soft spot for them. They deserve it after all the crap they've gone through since coming into the league.

Ditto. And their uniforms are great, too.

I think you have to be a pretty sick person to cheer against the Saints.* Even you if don't like the hurricane angle (which like it or not, is a very newsworthy event and it and its aftermath deserve news coverage), at least you can respect the fact that they're a hardluck team finally achieving some success. The team has a lot of good players with good attitudes. How anyone could hate them is beyond me.

*Except for true fans of their opponents.

Pipe down with the Saints love.

Let the usual Midwest homers rant on their teams and let us all hate the Bears.

I've always rooted against them as I have never liked them. I'm not going to cheer for them due to a hurricane. Now, if last season the team got Marshalled and then they made it back this far then yes, I'd root for them.

The NFC this year is literally the conference that has to send some jobber to the Super Bowl to get buried. Take a look at the game results this year. The Bears are the best team in the NFC this year at 13-3 and they only went 2-2 vs. the AFC. The NFC's GAMES have been good in the playoffs....the teams still suck.

Honestly, next week I have no idea what to expect. Hell, I had no idea about today's games, considering I had Baltimore and Philly winning. I'm very glad I was wrong, but I tend to expect the NFL playoffs to give me the results I absolutely do not want.

Just out of curiosity, why have you always hated them? They've never done anything... It's like hating the Devil Rays.

They are just one of the teams I dislike. I don't like New Orleans for one, I didn't like Jim Everett, didn't like the colors, I dislike Joe Horn. I also really dislike the Vikings as well and wouldn't root for them if a blizzard came through and killed half the population of Minneapolis. The Ravens are on the list too. Mostly because of Ray Lewis and moving the Browns there.

Once again, I'll point out that both the NBA and MLB champions represented the inferior conference/league. What happens in the regular season is hardly indicative of what will occur in the actual matchup. Stop using wrestling terms in context of a professsional sport as well.

No, I'm the guy who mentioned U of L destroyed Rutgers last year by 51 and should win again, but that certain aspects of the game worried me a bit.

And by the way, I did have Cincy beating Rutgers the next week. If you're that interested in my prognosticating you can sift through the archives.

I also really dislike the Vikings

Well I can feel a lot better about rooting against the Seawhats? now

Even though tomorrow's game is really a lose-lose for me

I can't help it. Brad Johnson, Randall Cunningham, Donovan McNabb. Never liked them. And the whole Hutchinson thing.

.... Zuhhh???

I think you meant to say Daunte Culpepper there..

I also like the Seahawks (now the closest thing to a hometown team I have) and despise the Vikings, although not as much as I used to.

Uhhhhh... That's completely untrue. The NFC East got 3 of 4 teams in the playoffs. That's pretty damn good.

Being the best of the worst doesn't make one good.

Hooey. The NFC South is the division with true bragging rights now, since all of its teams gone to the NFC title game since realignment. The East got lucky in that none of the other NFC teams seemed to want one of those wild card spots.

Posted

The NFC South is also the only division to send more than 1 team to the superbowl since re-alignment. 3 if NO wins next week.

Why all the hate for the Colts vs Ravens game? A great defensive battle it was. I dont understand when the same people who blow themselves about a pitching duel in baseball hate defensive NFL games? Are they not the same thing?
