HHH tore his quad tonight

Recommended Posts

Umaga/Cena just isn't a WM program.

No, but with the other top names taken care of, what else is there that doesn't involve bringing someone over from Smackdown? At least it has a good storyline to build it on, with Cena not being able to FU Umaga.

Never mind that he was able to FU Big Show...

It's different.......he couldn't FU Umaga cause he had had his ass beat not because he was just to heavy.

The reason that Cena/Orton doesn't work is because that match would require heat and right now Orton is great in his place but he can't just main event once again just to job. He'd look like a placeheld contender for Cena. Unlike HHH, whom is bulletproof, you can't job someone on the main event level three straight years unless they have a really strong presense. You could get away with that with Angle and HHH but Orton gets hurt from that.

Cena/Orton, in theory could be a WM main event down the road considering they are both still very young and barring any unforsee incident, they will be darlings for the company for years to come. For WWE, this match could main event WM24 or WM25. I wasn't claiming that HHH/Cena 2 would be the better choice, but it was a fore-runner.

The reason I'd push Cena Vs Batista is because this needs to be a major wrestlemania and this is the biggest money match for the WWE and to be fair, Batista is unreliable and you can't assume he'll be good to go for WM24 if they wanted to do this match in a smaller setting. It wouldn't require the titles because the value of the names alone would pull it into that Rock/Austin or Hogan/Warrior type level. They are already built as partners in crime, it doesn't take much to set up a angle out of that.

Shifting the titles over to Orton to defend against Shawn and actually having Orton live up to his "destiny" claims for once does a great deal. Right now, Raw has no other choie then Shawn. As for Smackdown, my idea was that Edge should win the Rumble right now last eliminating The Undertaker. Heels don't win it enough and UT winning is just too predictable and they only want to do it to pad his resume. Having Edge win the Rumble and making the decision that "I've already beaten Cena countless times, I want to beat Batista now and keep my streak going".

Edge builds up his winning streak while ignoring Undertaker's longer streak and continues to put himself over as the self-important jerk. Batista drops the title to Edge in impromptu title defense thanks to Cena setting up their match. Naturally, UT is deemed the #1 contender. Edge/Undertaker works on more levels then Batista/UT does and if anyone needs that ultimate rub, it's not Batista. It'd be Edge, who could use that win and finally become bulletproof. Edge would do more with breaking the streak then Batista does.

Instead of going for Andre/Hogan with Batista and Undertaker, go with Warrior/Hogan using Cena and Batista. You're already doing the Andre-Hogan homage via the Lashley/Khali match or the Hogan tag match with TBS. Why do it twice in one night?

You really think WWE creative is going to go through THAT much? No, you need to take the simplest, least thought out scenario and THAT will be your Wrestlemania card.

Here's a GIF of HHH tearing his quad.

Huh. Just like that. That's just a spot he's done a million times.

I hope they don't do Cena & Batista at Mania. I can't think of many matches that might be more awful and boring.

I guess tonight's RAW could already give us a nice clue of what's in the pipe now.

My prediction would be, that RKO loses the belts asap (to Cryme Tyme, I'd say) to get them or one of them into a feud against each other, against HBK/Flair or against Cena.

As for Shawn I'd LOVE to see him wrestle for the belt at WrestleMania. I just don't know where to put Umaga then; after the Royal Rumble rematch he's surely being given, I guess he might just fall back into midcard and disappear somewhen.

The more I think about it, the less my expectations for WrestleMania go and the more time passes by, the worse the possible card seems to go. DAMN, I was so much excited about the show...

why is it so far in left field that WWE will call up a guy? Didnt they sign Monty Brown? RR is the perfect opportunity for him to debut and stir the pot for Cena Batista. I think a Cena Batista Brown feud would be awesome. Have him spear Cena and then have Batista somehow be seemingly involved. Then Cena could think it was Edge who did it until viewing the replay on Raw, and by then its too late. Itd be a great triple threat or fatal 4 way match. itd bring up a new comer, put over the legit heat between Cena and Edge and tease some between he and Batista and itd legitimize Edge as a main eventer.

If HBK wasn't booked to be so dominant lately they could have went with a Rocky Balboa inspired storyline where he wants one last shot at the title. As it stands, I think they should do that storyline with Flair and Cena as Flair is the true old timer and Cena is Mason Dixon, the fighter looking to be taken to the next level. Of course I don't know if Flair could do it, however I'd love to see HBK try to make Cena look like a million bucks. Also worth noting is that we'd see a helluva lot less Superman Cena with HBK involved. When was the last HBK singles match win? Maybe you could tell the story that HBK was tag teaming because he can't go as a singles anymore. With HHH on the shelf, have HBK announce his retirement on Raw, however have his farewell match at the Royal Rumble. Of course he would win it, and would begin to question if he had one more title fight in him sorta deal...

Where does Umaga go? Maybe over to SD! to feud with Batista at WM. I want Benoit vs Undertaker at Mania anyways.

HBK vs Cena for Title

Umaga vs Batista for Title

Benoit vs Undertaker

Who wants to bet Dan Rodimer is brought in as HBK's bodyguard now - Stephanie compared him to Deisel afterall...

As for Umaga? Monty Brown. Samoan Bulldozer Vs The Beast From The Serengeti. That's a McMahon WM match right there. Debut Monty at the Rumble with a couple weeks of video hype, he comes in middle of the match and pounces a few mid-carders out of the ring. Give him the Vader 1996 booking and push for the two savage beasts colliding at WM.

Explain to me Lushus, how my idea was complex? All it requires is moving Edge over to SD and slotting HBK into the spot that was going to be HHH's anyways. They move someone over around this time of the year anyways and they have done a big cross-promotional match the past couple of years as well.

It hardly shakes WWE to the core, just slots two main event acts around and establishes a true WM main event because UT/Batista, Cena/Umaga and Khali/Lashley doesn't cut it.

'Taker Vs Edge (Streak Vs Streak)-World Title

Randy Orton Vs Shawn Michaels-WWE Title (I liked the idea of doing a Balboa thing and it probably works for Flair but I just can't put Flair in a WM main event, even though it probably wouldn't hurt. Shawn works for this spot and Orton should finally get a WM win here after losing the last 2 big matches. Also, Rodimer is coming in soon, place him as the Sid to Orton's Shawn)

Batista Vs John Cena (A Warrior/Hogan match if there ever was one)

Khali Vs Lashley-ECW Title (It'll be ugly as hell but they want this and it's the best way to do the Andre/Hogan homage which won't mean anything anyways)

That'd be your top shelf main event car with 6 other matches to flesh out the card.

And I hear the smallest violin playing in the background for HHH, this might be the chance that Edge, RVD, and every other misused WWE wrestler needs to finally get the proper push in Vince's world.

Care to justify claiming that Edge is mis-used? He HAS been the main event for the past year, been champion and a constant legit threat.

Edge got the biggest push outside of Cena last year.

Do you just have this stuff on automatic?

If the injury is as severe as expected, it'll mean it will be just about 2 1/2 years without a world championship reign. Pretty good for a guy that everyone insisted just wanted to break Flair's record.

RE: Hawk 34

While the idea of Edge going over Undertaker at Wrestlemania is a great one, do you honestly believe Taker would put someone over at 'Mania? I can't imagine he'll ever lose at WM, instead retiring with that undefeated streak as a sort of feather in the cap.

And as for Monty Brown, yeah he's got the body type Vince likes to push to the moon, but being a former TNA guy I can't imagine he'll be much more than a jobber. Maybe he'll be fed to Umaga, but I doubt he'll get hyped into the Rumble, and strongly doubt he'll bounce a number of entrants.

The TNA thing doesn't really matter, they been pushing to get him for awhile. They obviously have a strong enough interest.

Undertaker will do the right thing if it works for him. Edge doesn't need the win like Orton did two years ago but I think people would buy Edge as a legiti threat just as much as Batista given how strong he's been pushed the past year. Actually, Edge can lose this match and not be damaged as much as Orton was. Personally, I'd perfer to keep UT out of the title picture altogether just because the streak becomes intrusive. However, WWE doesn't have any strong people for that spot as it is unless they just do Edge/Batista with Cena/Orton on Raw leaving 'Taker for Umaga or a distant hope for Benoit. I really don't expect them to do that however.

There's a good number of options to go with but I do fear they'll just do Taker/Batista, Cena/Umaga, Khali/Lashley, Hogan/McMahon Vs TBS/Bischoff and R-RKO Vs Shawn/Flair.

People are saying Edge is misused? Wow...from Summer 05 through right now, he's been pretty much the top heel on Raw.

Hawk, it's not so much that your idea is COMPLEX, it's just that you're overestimating the talent of WWE Creative.

I'm surprise that you guys don't think that Edge is being misuse right now (I'm not talking about his 2nd WWE title reign). The rated R superstar is one of the most entertaining heels in WWE today and he deserves another title reign, I agree he is not as misused as a Jericho or a CM Punk but WWE is wasting Edge by teaming him with Orton and the DX feud.

not necessarily...in Vince's mind, DX/RKO is his main event program on Raw. Even John Cena gets the backseat to this, so the fact that Edge is still in the top program at the moment says a lot about him NOT being misused.

Edge is involved in a top program involving three other main event acts. Just because the tag titles are in play doesn't mean he's being misused. How is CM Punk being misused? He's a top shelf babyface on the #3 brand. He's been there for 4 months, he can't be main eventing right away. He isn't getting buried, he has been put over everyone thus far and has gotten a decent push overall.

I never could stand Edge during his singles face run. But 2006 was Edge's year in my opinion. Now that Triple H is out, Edge has to be in the World Title picture, on either brand. He isn't being misused, he's doing great... I just don't like Cena. Still. Triple H was my only hope of Cena not being champion, but at least i don't have to watch dx anymore.

Triple H is in Birmingham, Ala. right now having his leg injury from

last night's PPV examined. Today's diagnosis is a quadriceps tear on

the opposite leg of his last injury. He is scheduled to have surgery

tomorrow.

He tore his other quad on May 21, 2001 and returned about eight months

later. Typical recovery time for this injury is nine months. After

surgery, he will be in a wheel chair for a month or two, then on

crutches for another two months, and then wear a leg immobilizer for

another stretch of time, before moving into the rehab stage.

If he follows a typical recovery time pattern, he won't be able to

return to action until around October 2007, missing WrestleMania and

Summerslam.

The tentative main event for WrestleMania was Triple H challenging John

Cena for the WWE Title. That will not happen now, obviously. A new

WrestleMania main event will have to be devised, and the DX gimmick

will probably be discontinued, barring Shawn Michaels "recruiting" a

new member to take Hunter's place.

Vince McMahon and Kevin Nash suffered similar quad tears in recent

years. Nash was out nine month. He did not continue wrestling his match

when he tore his quad. Hunter did, putting other body parts and his

opponents at risk of injury as he finished the match. Hunter wraps his

knees tightly before wrestling to protect the knee, but it could also

conceivably lead to a tendency to more easily tear a quad. It also

might stabilize his legs even with a torn quad so he was more able to

complete a match than someone suffering the same injury without his

knees wrapped. Having suffered the same injury on his other leg in

2001, he probably immediately knew what happened.

Michaels, meanwhile, has shown signs of being very worn down by the

schedule and in need of time off himself, increasingly so over the last

year. The Triple H injury puts more pressure on him to work through his

fatigue and nagging injuries (including continuing issues with his

lower back, which forced his retirement at one point) at least through

fall.

I know it's been done a dozen times, but I wouldn't be against Edge vs. Cena again at Wrestlemania. Seriously, their feud is like Rock/Austin to me, I really enjoy it.

Keller's an asshole. Triple H showed toughness and professionalism by finishing those matches.

Keller's got a point on this one. What if Hunter slipped on one of his moves because of his injury and hurt Edge or Orton? Toughness aside, is it professional to risk, not only your own body, but that of your opponent when you can barely stand?

He's not really wrong but it's a obvious cheap shot at Triple H. If Benoit seriously hurt himself and keep working another 5 minutes he would be jerking off on his keyboard over Benoit's toughness.

And this was the WWE update on the injury.

Triple H tears quadriceps tendon

Written: January 8, 2007

Following an MRI with Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala. on Monday, Triple H was diagnosed with a ruptured quadriceps tendon.

Officially, The Game suffered a tear of one of the four tendons in his right quadriceps. The injury occurred during DX's match with Rated-RKO at New Year's Revolution. Surgery will be performed on Tuesday in Alabama, and WWE doctor Ferdinand Rios estimates that The Game will need four to six months to rehabilitate the injury.

While he was in a tremendous amount of pain prior to the MRI, Triple H was said to be in great spirits and had a smile on his face.

Stay tuned to WWE.com for further updates.
