Hawk 34 Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 This show had a couple really good talents that could contend and seemed short on the nutjobs. Tomorrow looks like a chore.
naiwf Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 Welcome to NYC, the attention whore capital of the East Coast.
Guest Princess Leena Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 Judging by past winners... the winner will likely come from today (Memphis), or next week (Birmingham and San Antonio).
Ravenbomb Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 I liked the band playing the "Wah wah waaaaaah" sound after the male cheerleader lost
devo Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 That was a nice touch. At first I thought it was editted in and found it kinda dumb, then I remembered that there was a whole brass section standing right there. I don't think anyone on screen even raised an eyebrow at that.
Ravenbomb Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 another nice touch was that gravelly rocker guy from last week talking about Chris "kicking open a lot of doors" being played over footage of the guy trying to open the wrong door
slimm44 Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 I dont know what the first guy, Ian was thinking, but I found him hilarious. He should audition for Last Comic Standing...or America's Got Talent if that show is still around.
foleyfanforever88 Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 Holy shit..that last girl before the commercial..the one that said she didn't think you needed to be able to sing to be an American Idol...when she was outside screaming..there was nothing I wanted more than for Petey Williams to come out of nowhere, kick her in the gut, and Canadian Destroy that fuckin bitch on the floor. EDIT: Test hitting her with a big boot would have been satisfactory too.

Guest Princess Leena Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 SLAPS PANTS BIG BOOT~! I didn't watch either AI this week.
Ravenbomb Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUNCE~! period!
Hawk 34 Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 SLAPS PANTS BIG BOOT~! I didn't watch either AI this week. You missed a couple good acts and the nutjobs weren't that out there. I should note I'm watching it on delay right now, so there might be something really bad on the horizon but overall it was good. Just need to get through more of this slog before we start getting somewhere.
Ravenbomb Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 The most irksome to watch was the first guy
Hawk 34 Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 Instead of nutjobs, they seemed to focus more on showing those who advanced or the "emotional" ones. I'll take that over the "LOL!" shows.
Ravenbomb Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 There was a 47 year old man auditioning. I thought the age limit was 30. What is going on?!
foleyfanforever88 Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 SLAPS PANTS BIG BOOT~! lmao..thinking about Test doing that off to the side before kicking her teeth in makes it so much funnier.
Black Lushus Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 The NY show was actually pretty good...we saw a lot more potentials let through, balanced out the good and the bad...unlike the previous 3 shows where it was all bad, goofy singers, Fox tooting their own horns. How about the two friends that came in together? Not the best singers in the world but HAWT! That girl in the end was just too much.

I agree that this was the most balanced well put together audition show yet. The first of the two friends I didn't like. She is the textbook definition of a Jersey Shore Whore who seemed way to high on herself. If you go to any shore bar in Jersey you'll meet 30 girls who look and talk exactly like her. Now, her friend was hot as shit, so I think I ignored her personality completely. She was also a much better singer.

I would have been too. Probably why he was so late the second day
Black Lushus Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 hey, you gotta rememeber dubs, I'm a midwest guy so I'm not used to the Jersey ho type.
C Dubya 04 Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 hey, you gotta rememeber dubs, I'm a midwest guy so I'm not used to the Jersey ho type. That's true. Trust me though, it's something that you wouldn't like! Jersey girls are a different breed.

I saw the MTV True Life special "I'm a Jersey Shore Girl" or something like that...yeah I could definitely punch those girls in the face.
C Dubya 04 Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 That True Life was the truth. It's an unreal scene down the Shore in the summer as it is a pile of the trashiest people who aren't poor you'll ever see. But somehow still fun.
Black Lushus Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 so most Jersey girls are loud, abbrassive and stubborn? my wife must be from Jersey...at least she doesn't have that horrible accent...
The Niggardly King Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 Didn't know where else to put this. His new look
cabbageboy Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 Man, oh man, Simon seriously shouldn't be late again. The stuff on that show where he was late and not there was just tedious last night.
Yuna_Firerose Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 I actually enjoyed when Simon wasn't there. The girls got to offer more constructive criticism. I like Simon, but his comments towards the bad singers become repetitive.. Very good show, the New York one. Hardly a freak in sight - aside from Ian, whose lips and attitude really scared me. Since this is related, what does everyone think of Rosie's latest "opinion"? Basically she said AI is all about bringing down "mentally unstable" people. Personally, I think her views are just media-humping.
starvenger Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 I like Simon, but his comments towards the bad singers become repetitive... That's the whole idea, isn't it? Lob some softballs at Simon so he can knock it out of the park. And it's pretty much become the prototype for the "open audition" phase of a "reality" competition show. Sad, really.
