J.B. Buzzkill 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2007 Did anyone see a trailer for "The Comebacks"? Wow, that looks awful, which is a shame since Office Jan and Stacy Keibler star in it. No shit. Walk Hard looks like gold, though.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2007 I can't believe anyone thought the sleepover scene was homoerotic. They were both drunk, and it's their last year together.
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2007 I can't believe anyone thought the sleepover scene was homoerotic. They were both drunk, and it's their last year together. I concur. I'm surprised so many people thought they were gonna turn gay in that scene.

I'm surprised so many people thought they were gonna turn gay in that scene. Well, most guys are somewhat homophobic and freak out over anything that could even remotely be seen as gay. Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2007 I saw this last night and thought it was pretty funny. I think I would've found it funnier if not for all the preview scenes that gave away a lot of the funny moments in the movie. It's going to get kind of old hearing all the McLovin references, though...I was at a mall yesterday and there were already McLovin shirts for sale in a bunch of the stores. Surprised to hear anyone being bothered by the sleepover scene. I thought it was amusing.
brokentusk16 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2007 I saw this at a matinee yesterday and thought it was really funny! The best parts were with McLovin and the cops, and the girls were all hot. It's a good movie, but please no sequel.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2007 I doubt there'll be a sequel, at least with any of the originals included. That just doesn't seem to be their style. But I will note that I have already gotten drunk and went word for word on the sleepover scene with my own best friend. Down to the "Boop. Boop." thing. Also, another friend of mine told me it was the prompt to outright say that he loved his best friend. Equally cool and gay at the same time. I was already super cool, and super gay, but that was the best scene in the movie (not funniest, but best).
JohnnyBlaze 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2007 i could go on for days with what i liked in this movie...the almost sex scenes were classic though.
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2007 If there's a sequel, it'll be a STV affair like the American Pie sequels after the 3rd one, and the more recent National Lampoon movies.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2007 No sequel at all, please. One thing I enjoyed about this movie was that there wasn't the usual post movie epilogue saying what happened to all these people (think Fast Times and American Graffiti). We're left to wonder what exactly became of these guys. Did they remain good friends? Did they stay in touch with the girls?
Mik 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2007 The tiramisu scene was one of my absolute favorites. Cera killed that scene.
Timmy8271 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2007 The Superbad kids were on Jay Leno tonight. Jonah Hill seems like a douchebag in real life and that's awesome. Leno trying to compare them to this generation's Sinatra/Martin/Davis was funny. Well he didn't really say that as I think it was a bad joke. Leno's god awful. They went on to write Superbad a movie that went on to critical and commercial success.
At Home 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2007 So after 3 weeks of incessantly hearing how much I look and act like Michael Cera, how awesome that veiny bastard is, how that'll happen in health class, how i'm blocking your car when I should be guiding it in, how I have a boner, I'm finally going to go see it tonight. Stoned as hell, I might add. God damnit I'm so fucking excited for this movie. Holy shit.
Darthtiki 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2007 Saw it again and still funny a second time.
Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2007 Finally saw it. It is a classic. It's our generation's Fast Times. Fuck American Pie. However, and I know I will be in an extreme minority, Hot Rod was funnier. Superbad had heart and shit, and taught you things about yourself, and was a better movie, but Hot Rod seriously almost killed me. Samesies. Superbad will probably hold up better over time, but Hot Rod had more frequent and louder laughs from me because I wasn't expecting ANYTHING of what I saw. Plus, I have heard Superbad incessantly quoted over the last few weeks. It was still great though.
AntiLeaf33 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2007 Saw it yesterday. It wasn't as funny as I thought it would be (though it was still pretty damn funny), but I was surprised at how deep the story was. McLovin made the movie for me. I'd see it again in a heart beat

I basically went to kill time and just couldn't stop laughing, chances are I'll see it again before I see Superbad again.
EricMM 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2007 Funny thats how I felt about Balls Of Fury. Of course, it helped that I saw it with friends who I could laugh with. If I saw it alone it might have been awful.
luke-o 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2007 Easily the funniest film I've ever seen at a cinema, there was barely a moment where I wasn't laughing. It's the Airplane! of teen movies. Hill stole the show, loved his character so much! Rogan was on form again and was superb Fogell was an annoying character, McLovin was an awesome character. There are too many funny moments to mention, but the film was so goddamn awesome! It's not as good as Knocked Up granted, but they are two different films and cant be compared. But now Seth has been involved in my two favourite movies of this year.

cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2007 Hell I don't even think Airplane is anywhere near the Zuckers' best movie. Naked Gun and Top Secret are both way funnier. Perhaps I don't like Airplane as much because of that ultra annoying Stephen Stucker idiot. He wrecks every scene he's in.
luke-o 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2007 Oh come on, he describes the airplane as "kinda like a big tylenol" Apperantly, he improvised pretty much all of his lines.
Copper Feel 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2007 I was about to type a reply defending Airplane, but then I realised I had it mixed up with The Naked Gun: I have not seen Airplane (or SuperBad yet, although I look forward to it).
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2007 Well, I made it sound like I dislike Airplane earlier, which isn't true. I like it quite a lot actually, but the film DOES have major problems like that Stucker douchebag, or a tendency for rehashing tired jokes (such and such, but that's not important right now...). It's also basically a remake of the 50s airline disaster flick Zero Hour, quite literally all of the hokey sounding serious dialogue is from that film. The Naked Gun is a more original film and Top Secret is to me the funniest ZAZ film.
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2007 Back on topic, saw the movie again last Saturday and it actually was a bit better than the first time. Still can't help but feel that this movie is 10-15 minutes too long but not as overstuffed IMO as Knocked Up or The 40 Year Old Virgin
