Cartman Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 Oh noes~! A couple of teams dont have any black players!!! OMG RACIST ORGANIZATIONS!!!!!!!!! Gimme a break.
vivalaultra Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 Wait...Andruw Jones isn't black?!?!?!? Oh my shattered little world view!
Guest George's Box Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 The Braves have always been kind of a white-bread team, though. Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz, and Chipper, and then the new crop of guys like Davies, Francoeur, McCann, and Kelly Johnson, all of whom in that latter crop are from the Atlanta suburbs, I think. But then of course, what about Fred McGriff, Deion Sanders, Julio Franco, and Andruw Jones? So who cares?
Dobbs 3K Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 I'm sure if a great black player was available, they wouldn't sign him because he's black... Would someone tell Jesse Jackson that this isn't the 1960s anymore? To add to that...Jesse Jackson must be retarded. Doesn't Hank Aaron still work for the Braves front office? You know, the guy who broke the home run record as an Atlanta Brave?
Guest Smues Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 Clearly the solution to this blatant racism is quotas. Each 25 man roster must have 5 crackers, 5 african americans, 5 latin players, 5 asians, and 5 velociraptors.

Each 25 man roster must have 5 crackers, 5 african americans, 5 latin players, 5 asians, and 5 velociraptors. Sounds like a World War II film. You know, Racially Balanced Rosters might be a fun exercise, actually. Build a team that's as fair and diverse as possible. Of course, my Cubs are committed to diversity, as well as failure. We have crackers (Howry, DeRosa, Barrett, The Riot), Latinos (Ramirez, Zambrano, Soriano), black guys (Lee, Ward, Asst. Manager Floyd), a redhead (Murton), a Jewish guy (Marquis), a fatass (Eyre), and baked goods (Pie)!
vivalaultra Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 The Astros have a darkskinned Latino with an Asian last name (Carlos Lee).
Guest Queen Leelee Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 What bothers me most is that the Atlanta Fucking Braves have to take Jesse Jackson seriously. Simply because this country is retarded. Anyway, baseball. A-God back on the HR run with his 15th tonight!
the max Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 What bothers me most is that the Atlanta Fucking Braves have to take Jesse Jackson seriously. Simply because this country is retarded. Anyway, baseball. A-God back on the HR run with his 15th tonight! The thing is that if someone took a stand against Jackson's bullshit, it might stop. Don't look at the attention whore and he'll go away.
treble Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 Good thing the Jays took Josh Towers out of the rotation, Victor Zambrano is a big improvement!
Guest Queen Leelee Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 Prince Fielder, FTW. I might have to add him to my favorites.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 My week is almost over! I pretty much made it despite hearing about Loewen and Wright being out for the year.
snuffbox Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 Milwaukee has only lost one series so far this year.
Mik Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 Hanley is younger, has nearly identical stats and has a bigger frame/more power potential. Up to now I'd give the edge to Reyes. For the rest of career I'm saying Hanley. If the cities were reversed the entire city of NY would love Hanley as much as I do.
KingPK Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 (edited) Looks like that trade is finally living up to it's potential as Beckett improves to 7-0 tonight. Mik, what's been going on with Annibal Sanchez this year? Edited May 9, 2007 by KingPK
Mik Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 Got sent down to AAA and then once he got there he finally admit that he's been having shoulder pain. Probably going to the DL or staying down there until he gets healthy again.

Guest George's Box Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 Cubs lose by 1 in the 15th. Horrible loss, given that Jones blew a bases loaded/1 out situation in the bottom of the 8th, then Dempster expectedly crapped his pants and blew a one-run lead in the top of the 9th. Also, I'm coming to realize that while Alfonso Soriano may have a lot of raw talent, when it comes to baseball IQ, this guy is a drooling tard. Bottom of the 1st, he tags up at third and fails to run home when he easily could have, plus various other dumb moves. At least Ryan Theriot had an encouraging night.

Dobbs 3K Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 I know me talking about it supposedly jinxs it, but JJ Hardy has a 19 game hitting streak going right now.
Dobbs 3K Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 I swear I didn't make this up: (from the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel online) "CLUBHOUSE CONFIDENTIAL The Brewers' national profile is growing and will get even bigger this month. Pitcher Chris Capuano, centerfielder Bill Hall and (shortstop) JJ Hardy have been tabbed to make appearances on the CBS soap opera "The Young and the Restless" when the Brewers travel to Los Angeles May 21-23."
sfaJack Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 I chose to turn off the Cubs game when the 12th inning ended because it was after 11:00 and I needed to go to bed. What a smart thing to do!
Failed Bridge Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 I'm trying to sell high on Hardy since I don't think he keeps up the torrid homer pace. I might be getting Sheffield, Tejada, Verlander, and Beckett for Helton, Hardy, Ervin Santana, and AJ Burnett.
Failed Bridge Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 oh, and this happened the other day when the Red Sox were in Minn. Its just plain weird http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1wy7h_red-sox-love
Dobbs 3K Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 Aaaaaand the Brewers sweep the Nationals. Only downside is JJ Hardy's hitting streak ended today. Brewers have a tough road trip ahead against the Mets and Phillies coming up. They're at a franchise high 7 game lead in first place as of right now, though.
vivalaultra Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 If the Brewers sweep both the Phillies and the Mets, I think my head might explode.
snuffbox Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 I know me talking about it supposedly jinxs it, but JJ Hardy has a 19 game hitting streak going right now. Ugh. I don't think they'll sweep the Phillies & Mets but they should be able to win both series.
Guest George's Box Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 The Nationals are really, really, really bad. I'm surprised they won 9 games. 75 more losses is not out of the question here. They're on pace for 43 wins, which I don't think they'll achieve. Maybe 60.
Dobbs 3K Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 I know me talking about it supposedly jinxs it, but JJ Hardy has a 19 game hitting streak going right now. Ugh. Hey, not my fault, the whole team was barely hitting today, but they still won. I think they will take at least four wins on this trip.
