Mr. McMahon "dead" - Now for the "whodunit" angle.

Recommended Posts

I don't get this angle. If they want fans to suspend their belief then why would McMahon still be presumed dead?

Because, from what I gathered, they haven't actually found his body. It's like if someone was known to have drowned, you'd say that he's presumed dead since the body or evidence of the body hasn't been recovered.

Wonder how the cameras missed a flaming body walking away from the limo?

The problem with this angle is there is no good payoff for fans with a little intelligence. As whoever did it would be prosecuted and never seen again, therefore you can't just have a wrestler say he did it. Fans didn't buy Rikishi, and they won't buy this. If Vince says it was staged he would still be put in jail, and fans would be dissapointed with the outcome like they were with the higher power. There is no possible payoff, this is a Russo special.

I have a vague suspicion London wasn't laughing for any reason other than he just found Vince funny and couldn't stop himself.

And London is doing quite well for himself in WWE, considering his size. He's getting a reasonable push, he's not being buried, and he doesn't seem to be in danger of getting fired. All things considered, I'm sure London is quite happy to be where he is.

After what happened on RAW, the joke has been "...and the new, ROH champion, Paul London", and add to that mess the fact that TMZ quoted him as the one telling a fan that Ashley would be doing Survivor, he's not in the good graces of WWE right now.

Here is a press release from the Wilkes-Barre, PA police department website:

Information regarding WWE Event at Wachovia Arena

For verification purposes regarding those inquiring as to the alleged car bombing of WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, at the Wachovia Arena in Wilkes-Barre Township on Monday, June 11, 2007, the incident was a staged event, prearranged with Fire Department personnel and authorized by Township Code Enforcement officials. All necessary precautions were taken during the filming of the event so as to ensure the safety and security of all persons involved in the event. Mr. McMahon was not injured during the event contrary to what is being reported on internet web sites and other media sources.

You can visit our local newspaper media for the related stories to this event:

The Citizens Voice - Homicide that never happened here shown live on cable

“The end result is everybody thought it was real, and we got inundated with calls about the homicide that doesn’t exist,” Clark said. “It comes down to the old adage you don’t always believe what you see on TV.”

Everybody thought it was real, Lol. Okay.

“I hated the arrogant b******, but I had to come,” said a tearful Peter Frager, who said he drove all the way from Borger, Texas. “I’ve watched wrestling for so many years – I grew up watching him, even during the days when he was just an announcer. It’s going to be weird watching WWE without him.”

If that guy honestly drove all the way from Texas....that's awesome.

I'm almost positive I saw Kendrick trying to hold back laughter on that shot of Vince walking away. I'd find it tough not too standing next to London.

You know as disrespectful as this whole deal maybe, I'm kind of enjoying this angle. I have to give it to Vince for being original, plus it gets him off TV for awhile.

Wonder how the experts/agents missed the burnt human remains in the car after inspecting it, but came to the conclusion a professional blew the car up?

They haven't even had one Raw yet to follow up this angle. Give it some time before they start hot-shotting the whodunit storyline.

That article is classic:

One fan, dressed in a retro powder blue sports jacket with the old World Wrestling Federation logo that was once the Chairman’s trademark, was too overcome with grief to talk. His shoulders shook and lips quivered before he buried his face in his hands. He had to be held by his two friends that were at his side.

“He used to practice the Chairman’s strut and swagger,†one friend said. “He’s barely eaten since seeing the explosion. But he insisted on coming here and paying his respects.â€

As per the Texas chap, it's all in the writer's mind.

How ironic that Sherri Martel passes away while this angle is going on. I know it's not someone who works for them right now, and that would be even more ironic, but still.

I'm starting to believe that Mr. McMahon will come back, having survived the expolosion.

I just get that feeling from the "presumed dead" line they keep using.

But hey, we haven't had a good whodunnit in ages, so this should make for good TV. Once they've got the "respect for Vince shows" we had with ECW and Smackdown.

Obviously she died of grief.

All I could think about that is that he's from the same town as Stan Hansen and imagining the guy looked like Hansen.

--There was serious talk within WWE yesterday regarding the McMahon angle due to the timing of the death of Sherri Martel. There was a significant push to drop the angle as quickly as possible, citing taste and timing, and another school of thought (that most expect would win out) to keep going.

This storyline is so stupid they should just go balls out and make it the worst storyline in professional wrestling history.

This up coming Raw, Linda gets shots in the back leaving the building after addressing the locker room.

At Vengeance, Shane and Steph grieve the lose of both their parents and after being escorted from the building by SWAT and their limo inspected by the bomb squad they get run off a bridge by an unmarked car.

The next night on Raw, Triple H returns and rightfully announces himself as the new CEO of WWE. He acts sad over the loses yet happy to be the new owner which makes him suspicious of the murders.

They can use their creative minds and go crazy from there.

That guy from Texas is so stupid he'll probably be ecstatic when Vince shows up again alive and well. "Oh my god, he survived that explosion! It's a miracle!"
