NFL Star headed to TNA

Recommended Posts

ESPN2 said it would be a non-wrestling role.

Likely a special referee scenario like the aforementioned Tyson deal. At least they appear to be trying something that's worked before. Let's just hope that whatever rub they get from this goes to someone deserving of it, and isn't wasted on someone like Lance Hoyt again.

This is actually a great move for TNA. It's the biggest "name" they've signed yet. The guy is going to be a total heat magnet.

Pacman's act may be too much for the NFL to handle, but he's practically tailor made for a wrestling role. It might not be the best time to bring him in, but for TNA any publicity is probably good publicity at this point.

If it's a non-wrestling role, it's a better idea. Like others said, he's a heat magnet. But given that TNA is taped in ORLANDO not Nashville like some seem to have forgotten, I don't know how well it'd get received. His handlers will probably try to portray him as a virtuous babyface to stand up for Eric Young or something.

"Jones's link to pro wrestling is through his attorney, Manny Arora, who is the same attorney for Chris Benoit's former doctor, Phil Astin."

Torch.

Perfect. And I think he beat the hell out of said named stripper(allegedly), which started the trouble. Because she didn't realize that when you "make it rain" the stripper is not supposed to touch the money or something.

This was mentioned on PTI on ESPN. TNA did manage to get mentioned during the segment, as both of the substitute anchors asked what TNA was, and mentioned that they must be the "Arena Football League" to the "WWF."

I'm telling you, most people in the mainstream press have no sold the WWF becoming WWE. As far as Pacman goes, this is bizarre. I do wonder why anyone in Orlando is supposed to care about him. Jarrett must think they are still in Nashville with all the Titans doing crossovers on TNA.

I don't see how this could possibly be a good idea. In the middle of the still-ongoing Benoit scandal, TNA signs a known violent criminal who was such a fuckup that even the NFL kicked him out?! And at the same time when what replaced Benoit as the scandal-du-jour was Vick, a fellow NFL player? And the same week they sign a wrestler who got fired from the WWE for failing the wellness program? That's right, TNA signed Test too.

TNA has only avoided serious controversy and/or official heat because they've been so inept at gaining national attention. When someone tells the Nancy Graces of the world about the guys who died from ODs while working there and the situation with medical bills with Konnan and Killings and how TNA steals their wrestler's indy payoffs, shit it's on son.

Unless its a PPV at the Nashville Fairgrounds I seriously doubt anybody is going to give a damn about this oh well maybe Pacman is going to eat a beer bottle like Frank Wycheck did.

This is going to be so awesome. It'll be watchable either as a total, laughable trainwreck, which isn't too much of a stretch from how TNA normally is, or if he's somewhat entertaining with any any ability in or out of the ring. If he doesn't mind making fun of himself, like if he were to bring in the 'Make It Rain' thing, then he's already a tailor made wrestling character. He's hilarious as it is.

Titans could nix Pacman's deal for wrestling

If Adam "Pacman" Jones steps foot in the ring, he might not step foot on the football field again for the Titans.

"That type of thing is not permitted in accordance with the player's contract,'' Coach Jeff Fisher told The Tennessean.

Many NFL contracts contain clauses against off-field activities that might leave a player injured.

Pacman's lawyer insists that the deal currently being discussed with Total Non-stop Action Wrestling doesn't actually include any wrestling.

The Tennessean reported that a rep for TNA expects a stateent to be made in the next couple of days.

Jones is currently suspended for the season after a series of run-ins with the police during his brief NFL career.

So, did they suspend the half-dozen Titans who took part in a ringside brawl at TNA a few years back? Hypocrits.

I do wonder what the hell Jarrett expects to get out of an unpopular thug who can't get in the ring and insists on being a babyface.
