Brett Favre Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 That's what sick days are for. I like the Zambrano deal. After seeing what Zito got, that's a pretty good deal.
Cheech Tremendous Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 WMP and cash to the Nationals for a player to be named later. The Wily Mo era didn't really play out the way they expected it to, did it?
Longdogger_Pete Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 And the Sox take a 6-1 lead in the first inning to open the game for Buchholz.
KingPK Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 Mirabelli goes out with a hamstring injury, so that might change things regarding calling up Jacoby tonight. Fucking guy can't do anything right.
Cheech Tremendous Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 There's no way Ellsbury gets the call now. They're going to have to call-up Kottaras or Cash to catch tomorrow. Tek's going to be dead by the end of the night.
Boon Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 Optioning Buchholz at the end of the game for Ellsbury and DLing Mirabelli still leaves a slot open for a catcher tomorrow, no?
Cheech Tremendous Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 Optioning Buchholz at the end of the game for Ellsbury and DLing Mirabelli still leaves a slot open for a catcher tomorrow, no? Depends on how bad Mirabelli's injury is. I wonder who catches Wake if Miraebelli goes down for a period of time? EDIT: From what I've been reading, both Alex Cora and Mike Lowell can catch. The crazy stuff you learn some times.
Boon Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 I'm sure they can get Josh Bard a police escort.
Cheech Tremendous Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 I'm sure they can get Josh Bard a police escort. I'm better at catching a knuckeball than Josh Bard.
Guest Soriano's Torn Quad Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 Braden Looper has ten wins this year. Braden Looper has ten wins this year. Braden Looper has ten wins this year. Braden Looper has ten wins this year.
The Man in Blak Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 TLR's infatuation with batting Ryan Ludwick second whenever a lefty is on the mound has got to stop.
2GOLD Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 It was just reported on Mike & Mike that The Cubs have signed Carlos Zambrano to a 5 year extension worth $18 million a year. It's more like 6/$111 total because the last year has a player option. I can live with that. Plus it allows me to tell my damn half brother to shut up about the Red Sox signing everyone on the damn planet. Seriously, I get enough Yanks and Sox crap watching ESPN.
Boon Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 The line on Buchholz- 6IP, 8H, 3ER, 3BB, 5K in a winning effort.
Cheech Tremendous Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 Matt Bush needs Tommy John surgery.
Annabelle Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 monroe out maybin in probably too early, but who cares. thames will get most of the starts this year. this is a good way to break him in for next year. jurrjens will stay up for another start. he's really impressive. they have the best young staff in the league. next year: bonderman verlander miller jurrjens ________ could be robertson or someone else, tata or vasquez. they both looked alright at times. doubt rogers will be back.
Craig Th Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 WMP and cash to the Nationals for a player to be named later. The Wily Mo era didn't really play out the way they expected it to, did it? That is all he is worth a PTBNL?
Cartman Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 Well yea... 1. Cant field anywhere. 2. Cant hit anything but piped fastballs.
Cheech Tremendous Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 WMP and cash to the Nationals for a player to be named later. The Wily Mo era didn't really play out the way they expected it to, did it? That is all he is worth a PTBNL? FWIW, there's a rumor that it's Jon Rauch, who has some decent value as a bullpen arm. The whole player to be named thing is being use because the traded player in question is currently on the 40-man roster and thus can't be moved to the Red Sox without clearing waivers first.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 18, 2007 Report Posted August 18, 2007 Matt Bush needs Tommy John surgery. Chris Ray had his and he's gonna be out most if not all of 2008.
mike546 Posted August 18, 2007 Report Posted August 18, 2007 Sheilds/K-Rod always suck against the Sox, its ridiculous.
KingPK Posted August 18, 2007 Report Posted August 18, 2007 Guess the "Gagne sucks because he's not closing" arguement just got tossed right out the window here.
mike546 Posted August 18, 2007 Report Posted August 18, 2007 If not for Gagne, the AL east wouldn't really be a race right now. Thats 3 losses in 8 days on him.
MFer Posted August 18, 2007 Report Posted August 18, 2007 Rough debut for Maybin...a couple K's plus another out due to the ball hitting him while he was running out the box. Pettite was dealing tonight though so Maybin wasn't the only one who stuggled. Finally got to see Joba...looked pretty good...Detroit announcers were comparing him to Zumaya...not sure who has the brighter future and all that...maybe a couple of you could give me more insight...
vivalaultra Posted August 18, 2007 Report Posted August 18, 2007 The Cubs...are...in...first...place? In August?!?!? Gwah? Zuh? Buh? Fuh? I can find no words to express my feelings over this, only utterances.
Longdogger_Pete Posted August 18, 2007 Report Posted August 18, 2007 Mirabelli has already been placed on the DL, and the Red Sox are bringing up Kevin Cash.
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted August 18, 2007 Report Posted August 18, 2007 Sheffield's been getting destroyed by the crowd the last two nights. Even more than I had thought he would have.
Guest Posted August 18, 2007 Report Posted August 18, 2007 Shea Hillenbrand is clearly the reason the Dodgers are winning again. Still only 3 back in the WC chase, and playing well again. Who knows what'll happen.
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted August 18, 2007 Report Posted August 18, 2007 Hey, Brandon Webb has been nails for my fantasy team lately. Despite the fact that I'm 37.5 games out of first. Meanwhile, you-know-who: 6.0 IP, 2 H, 2 BB, 0 R, 9 K, 0.00 ERA, 0.67 WHIP, .105 BAA. That ain't Eric Gagne's line.
