This Week In Baseball 9/16-9/23

Recommended Posts

Al's gonna be throwing a ton of 1-hour bans to me if the Phils make the playoffs.

The suspension was solely for the Eagles chant.

If the Eagles go 0-3, I'm going into the NFL thread and typing "P-H-I-L-L-I-E-S! Phillies!"

Oh man, I wanna see what al is like in the postseason chats if the Phillies are in it

Sneak Preview:

1. Well, what do you expect? The Phillies' pitching staff isn't that good and we've been lucky to get this far.

2. Another unclutch home run from the inconsistant Pat Burrell. [/sarcasm]

3. F!@#$#%'n Mesa.

4. Seriously, fuck Jose !@$#$!'n Mesa?!

5. Jose Mesa?! What the !@!$#$$#$@^%(*&**(^#%Q%^$^#%%%*&~!

Jose Mesa is Al's Jeff Weaver

Cecil Cooper sure did his part, trotting out the Roman triumvirate of suck that is Matt Albers, Felipe Paulino, and Juan Gutierrez.

Conspiracy!

Geez, has Baltimore just completely quit on the season? Two Orioles have been thrown out trying to steal by trotting into second base instead of running hard and sliding, as if the tag was a foregone conclusion.

Oswalt's missing his start tonite because his wife's giving birth. Woody Williams was taken out of the rotation due to suckiness and Paulino got his spot. Matt Albers has been in and out of the rotation all year. Really, the only Astros' pitcher that you couldn't put in a triumvirate of suck is Oswalt. And Paulino looked really, really good for 4 innings last nite. Gutierrez has been crisp and dominant so far tonite.

Except just now. Astros have scored one run in 2+ games. Yeah, they packed it in. If only the Reds would do the same.

I feel bad for the Reds being saddled with Adam Dunn, though. I mean, come on! He strikes out!

Adam Dunn now has 4 consecutive years with 40 or more home runs. Hopefully the Cubs win though, no one wants to see a postseason with the fucking Brewers.

Some people do, but most of them own camouflage pants.

Yeah, of course he gives one up right after I post. It's depressing to watch the Astros, but, like Berkman said the night before last when they were officially eliminated, this is the first time they've played meaningless games in four years; that's pretty good for a franchise that's not 'big-market'. And watching some of the young kids play gives me hope for next year. I think Cooper's going to be more of a manager that plays to win than a manager that plays guys to keep em happy.

Not big market my fucking ass. This coming from the team that paid out the ass for half a season of Roger Clemens.

Man, Moises Alou is just red freaking hot right now. He's ridden a twenty-three game hitting streak all the way up to a .344 average. Injuries and all, Alou was the Mets' best offseason pickup, and that team option for next year is looking better and better every day.

I don't mean big-market as far as payroll; I meant as far as national play goes. It was basically a shot at the Sox and Yankees. As far as teams in the public consciousness goes, I wouldn't put the Astros in the Top 10, maybe not even the Top 15.

Only large market teams in playoffs!

Yeah, his hands are red hot.

Piss hot.

What?

Shoot, thought we could go the whole season without referencing that. Ah well.

I'm sure everyone knows, but I have never been an Adam Dunn fan. I don't care that he hit 40 homers four years in a row.
