Guest cheetoe Report post Posted October 2, 2007 So, how about them Brownies? Who would have thought they would come to play ball after that disappointing performance in Oakland? Jamal Lewis gave them a copy of the Ravens playbook. It's true, It's true.
Mecca 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2007 How dumb are the Chargers? Tomlinson is having a great day on only 16 carries, why not run him more agaiunst this pathetic KC defense? I guess they want to "esptablish their passing game" thus leading to Rivers passing to the other team constantly. So the Kansas City defense is ranked 3rd after a month.......how is that pathetic? Also that Dwayne Bowe guy, he's pretty good.
The Robfather 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2007 Boy, another dull primetime game. Never in doubt. Korny with the 16-0 talk. Reali's going to have to force him on Around The Horn as a panelist just for the purpose of muting the shit of out Kornheiser when the Pats do lose.
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2007 I liked that Jaws at least had the common sense to say it was unlikely. If a team goes 10-0, then we can talk about maybe going undefeated. Not in September. Especially when they haven't played anybody with more than 1 win yet.
Slayer 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2007 While it would obviously be great to watch, we'll most likely never see a 16-0 team because as soon as a team gets to, say, 13-0 and clinches HFA, they'll toss out the 2nd and 3rd stringers and finish 14-2 or something like that

If they can get to 13-0, I think they've got it in them to finish 16-0 even if they don't go all out for most of December.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2007 I am not so sure you can call any of those REALLY easy games though. Especially after a long season. I would discount Miami, but you know Miami and NE...something wierd tends to happen there.

The Man in Blak 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2007 If the Patriots somehow get to the final weeks of the season with an undefeated record, I can't see Belichick easing off of the throttle for the playoffs. Not only does he understand the magnitude of having the opportunity for an undefeated season, but he understands that running the table would basically be the ultimate "fuck off" to the league and the media for CameraGate. BX 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2007 Regarding "fuck yous" to the league and such, what's to stop Belicheck from trading back into the first round just to spite the league? I know they still have one first rounder, but seriously, does anyone else see Belicheck trading back into the first just to piss off Goodell?

Guest Gym Class Fallout Report post Posted October 2, 2007 "That'll teach you to punish me for being a complete jackass." Oh, and we shouldn't talk about the Patriots going 16-0 on October 1st. They'll just blow some stupid game to the Dolphins or something.

There's no need for an f-you because I don't think he cares at all. He knows he messed up, but realizes it was for something petty that's going to be forgotten in time anyways. No need to try and draw the ire of the league by making moves for the sole purpose of pissing them off. That's just bad business.
The Man in Blak 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2007 Maybe it's just me, but the undertones to Belichick's carefully scripted apology (far from contrite) and the team's eagerness to run up the score on everybody seem to indicate that the Patriots - brace yourselves - feel disrespected. I don't think that an undefeated season is likely - I just disagreed with the idea that Belichick would rest the key guys leading into the playoffs if he had the opportunity for an undefeated season. Make no mistake about it, the only thing he messed up or is sorry for is getting caught. You can't tell me that was the first or last time Bellechick has done this. The ultimate f-u to the league is winning a superbowl without cheating. I'm just too skeptical to think that he didn't. Yeah, that's right, I said it. No, I said without cheating. The skepic is going to say that he cheated, which is of course difficult to prove, but there is a lot of evidence that points to it. Kinetic 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2007 I can see them going 15-1 or 14-2, but they'll lose somewhere along the line. They play @Dallas, @Indy, @Baltimore, and they have Philly and Pittsburgh at home. That godawful division means that they almost never have two tough games in a row, but there's a few difficult games on the schedule. I say they lose @ Indianapolis, but otherwise run the table. MrRant 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2007 Did you watch the game? The Flash couldn't excape that. Andy Reid, I guess was waiting on sack number 7 from Osi Umenyiora to think maybe he should think about kinda helping the guy with his first start on the offensive line. Donavan had 3-4 guys on him almost every play. Those sacks had nothing to do with lack of pocket presense, because there was no pocket. But maybe he was calling the wrong audibles to pick up the blitzs. Or maybe someone should have noticed that they had 5 yards per carry on 20 runs in the game and maybe should have run the ball some more. But this game shouldn't even solidify an opinion on the QB, because jesus, that was just a slaughter. When has Andy Reid ever ran the ball more? But I agree with you that McNabb wasn't all at fault. Why wasn't a TE or even a RB held back to block since Umenyiora was just blasting through? You can't say it's because of Reid's offense since Holmgren runs the same type and consistently Mack Strong will be held back to block.

MrRant 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2007 Philly was 27th in the league last year in rushing attempts. 30th in 2005 and 24th in 2004. Right now they are 14th but we are only 4 games in.

I don't get this. It's the NFL. Chicago gets beat by Detroit. The Raiders win games. Dogs laying down with cats, etc. Every game's a threat to the record, which is one of many reasons that the "WILL SOMEONE GO UNDEFEATED" meme is one of the lamest to come up every year. MFer 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2007 Well I think this next game at Washington will be a good indicator of whether Detroit can reach 10 wins or not. Detroit has never won there plus they've been horrible on the road in the Millen era so this would be a huge win. At the very least, I'm hoping they can stay competitive, unlike what happened at Philly. Looking at the remaining schedule, the only teams that look great right now are Green Bay and Dallas. Tampa looks good but they just lost two important players for the season. It'll help that the Lions are getting Calvin Johnson back.
