CanadianGuitarist Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 Alright, the roomie's on about Favre again....Convince me that anyone but Tom Brady should be the MVP this year?
Guest Vitamin X Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 Alright, the roomie's on about Favre again....Convince me that anyone but Tom Brady should be the MVP this year? Same reason I'd bring up any time Favre's name comes up in MVP talks.. Without Favre, where are the Packers? And without Brady, where are the Patriots? I think it actually comes pretty close in terms of the ramifications of a major injury to either guy, but Moss, Gaffney, Stallworth, and Welker are all proven, good WRs that can work with any quarterback. I think Favre makes Green Bay's offense go, especially the way he carried that offense in the beginning half of the year with no running game.
Guest Vitamin X Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 And that'll do it. Good game, at least.
Spaceman Spiff Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 Man, the Eagles can fuck off. What cock teases.
The Niggardly King Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 The Patriots were scared... Ravens... you know what to do now.
the pinjockey Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 That hurts worse than the pistol whipping I was expecting. Wes Welker is a freaking beast.
Boon Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 Besides the Colts game, this was the most fun I've had watching the Patriots all season.
The Niggardly King Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 This felt like the end of 300, where Leonidas chucks the spear, just to graze Xerxes. The Patriots are not invincible, they can bleed.
Kinetic Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 So I guess that the blueprint for hanging with New England is blanketing Moss, pressuring Brady, and hoping that your offense can outscore them. So Baltimore has no chance. Pittsburgh, maybe?
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 Thankfully the Pats pulled that one off. I was dreading going back to school tomorrow and having to hear it from one end of campus to the other that "WE beat the Patriots! WE broke the undefeated season!" It's going to be bad enough hearing "WE almost beat the Patriots, we came as close as anyone has so far!" but I can live with that one, I guess.
Mike wanna be Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 Which is the bigger longshot going in: that the Patriots wouldn't cover the spread, or that the 49ers would outscore them?
Vigo Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 The Patriots were scared... Ravens... you know what to do now. I think it's going to have the opposite effect. This game probably woke them up from their complacency and that means it's going to be a long night for the Ravens next week.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 Judging by the Ravens' performance today, yeah don't bank on an upset there.
cabbageboy Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 Okay, what the hell was that play call by the Eagles that resulted in the Feeley INT to Samuel? They were moving the ball and had plenty of time left (3:50), had just pounded Westbrook for a nice gain. Yet they desperately go for the TD, going after the very guy who already had an INT earlier? The Eagles had a FG in their pocket, at the worst just keep running it and run the clock down...then either score the TD or kick the FG and give the Pats no time. What if the Eagles had scored on that play? Tom Brady simply gets the ball back with 3:45 or so left and would beat them anyway.
Boon Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 I didn't know Cris Collinsworth posted on TSM.
Jaxxson Mayhem Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 Eagles got greedy and went for the TD with 3:something left. That's what killed them. /madden.
The Niggardly King Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 It was a usual Eagles loss. Nice drive, plenty of time, plenty of options, BAM, Interception!
the pinjockey Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 It was a bad read by Feeley. He had Smith and Westbrook available, but he never looked away from Curtis.
MFer Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 Doesn't this happen every year? McNabb gets hurt and some journeyman QB has a couple good games and suckers another team into signing him? I don't keep track of McNabb's career but it sure seems like that. 1st Feeley, who went on to do less then nothing until coming back home 2nd Mike McMahon, who sucked for the Eagles in his stint and went to a backup job in Minny I think before falling to the wayside 3rd Garcia, obv with Bucs and to complete the circle back to Feeley, who may actually sucker a team again (the Eagles) if they dump McNabb and Kolb isn't ready for next season. Didn't Ty Detmer make an appearance during the 1st Feely stint?
the pinjockey Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 He started the first game against the 49ers, but dislocated his elbow in the game. He was killing it during that game too.

The Niggardly King Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 No it was the Legendary Neckbearded Koy Detmer and his dancing skills.

Jaxxson Mayhem Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 If anything good came from the game, it was this.
KingPK Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 This reminded me so much of the Dolphins game in '04 so much with Feeley just slinging everything in there and getting the ball to the right place. If McNabb played, we would have seen the 30 point drubbing everyone was expecting. I feel sorry for the Ravens now. Brady mad! Bill mad! Bill and Brady smash purple birds!
AboveAverage484 Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 http://www.zippyvideos.com/3301608671899746/koyfavrewhip/ Did Favre just tell Detmer to "suck it?"
Kinetic Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 Sean Taylor was shot in his home this morning. This is terrible news for you Redskins defense fantasy owners. EDIT: All right, I take that back. I didn't realize the seriousness of the situation. Redskins safety Sean Taylor has been shot in Florida, a source with knowledge of the situation tells us. He is in critical condition at a Miami-area hospital and, per the source, is "fighting for his life". Taylor spent Sunday night in his Florida home with his girlfriend and infant daughter. A robbery occurred, and Taylor was shot in the leg by one of the invaders. The bullet severed his femoral artery. He currently is in surgery. Taylor, the fifth overall pick in the 2005 draft, was in Florida to get a second opinion on an injured knee. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Taylor, his family, and the Redskins organization, and we hope that Taylor will make a full recovery. Credit: profootballtalk.com
