A Happy Medium 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2008 Well.... I remember meeting Cliff Livingston at a PACE/Sam's Club grand opening somewhere around the 91-92 season. He signed a plaque with a picture of him boxing out Kevin McHale. Stacey King is in the background. The plaque is actually on the wall beside me. Former White Sox great Billy Pierce did business with my mother after his playing days. Ran into him a few times. Darryl Strawberry walked by my brother and I at a Bed Bath & Beyond located inside of Sawgrass Mills a couple of years back. Everyone I tell this to tells me that I should've asked if he had any coke. Al Bernstein became a cousin for a little while when his own cousin, my former cousin Mike, married my cousin Linda. Scottie Pippen walked passed me on the way to the field for the first pitch at Wrigley last season. My mother's friend from work wound up marrying Mark Cuban. I wish that this could have turned into something more regarding meeting and then knowing Mark Cuban, who is actually on the A-List when it comes to sports. I still look at my Cliff Levingston moment as being the best, though. I mean, I'm looking at the signed plaque of a NBA bench player.
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2008 Is Chantal Kreviazuk anybody in the US? She's won Juno awards here but I don't know what that means to the international music scene. NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2008 - I was in Beyond the Mat for a few seconds. The segment with Michael Modest getting his tryout on RAW in a dark match was at Arco Arena in Sacramento, and I had front row ringside tickets. When Modest hits his finisher and has his hand raised you can see me in an old ECW shirt. If you know what to look for it is easy to spot me. - The actual episode of RAW that they used, when it aired live I was full-on camera as they were going to a commercial break(This of course was after a WWE staff member came up to me before the show started and said my entire section was going to be angry with me because we would be blocked out from the camera because I was wearing an ECW shirt)....I can't quite remember the segment, but I am pretty sure it was an in-ring interview with Austin, Ken Shamrock, and someone else..... This was circa 1998. - I live close to Arco Arena where the Sac Kings play so I often see members in the shopping center. I saw Bibby at Rubios and Baskin Robbins. I saw Kenny Thomas at Best Buy. Vlade Divac took his kids to see The Grinch and my friend was in a row behind him. - The year the Lakers swept the Kings in the playoffs(I believe it was 2001, the year before they had the epic seven game series against each other) Me and my Wife worked graveyard shift and we got off early which on that shift meant 9:30pm. We decided to go to the 24hour IHOP for some breakfast-dinner, and Shaq was there eating. The employees barracaded and entire section for him so he wouldn't be disturbed. - When the motorcross guys came to town they were at the local Applebees afterwards and they tried to hit on my Wife's cousin. I mean they are really not even c-list so I guess this doesn't count. All I can think of for now.... EDIT: Oh yeah and I smoked out with Digital Underground on their tour bus about five years ago after they played a show at a small club in town.
Ted the Poster 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2008 Met Ric Flair in an antique store about ten years ago. He was buying something for his daughter's birthday. Ran into the Barbarian at Gold's Gym. Nice fellow. I was at the Applebee's Will Ferrell filmed from in Talladega Nights, and met Jane Lynch. Got a picture with Charlie Murphy at a comedy club. Once I went over to my grandmother's condo to pick up a picture frame, and Woody Harrelson passes by me. I ask her "Were you teaching yoga to Woody Harrelson?" and she just goes "Oh, is that who that was? He acted like I should know him."

Guest Report post Posted March 13, 2008 For C-listers and lower, I can only think of guys I've played with or against in High School, and a few fighters I met in Vegas, for the most part. I met Sean Rooks at a grocery store. Nice guy. I met (and sat next to) Kelly Pavlik in Vegas during a Sugar Shane Mosley fight, a little while after a Boxing After Dark date he had in Anaheim. Now he's the middleweight champion of the world.

Had a cigar with Mark Napier (man loves his cigars.) Ray Emery asked me where to get some good cigars. (I told him to find Mark Napier). Marty McSorely locked me in a headlock. (Very generous guy, and has a hell of a golf game too). The numerous amounts of times cheering for Eric Young at the local Indy Fed. Met Canada's former governal general, Adrienne Clarkson. (Kind of a bitch really). The members of Exodus wanted to know where was the best strip club in Toronto. I said Zanzabar. Met Ted Kennedy numerous amounts of times when I worked at Wendy's. Man loved the JBC and baked potato. Me and a few co-workers let Steve Yzerman play through while playing golf.

Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 Met the Dudley Boys after a RAW in.... 2000 or something like that. They were staying in the hotel next door to the old Summit and a small group of us were in the hotel bar watching the end of the Monday Night Football game. Turned out to be the Green Bay/Minnesota game where Farve threw the OT TD pass to Freeman off of Chris Dishman. Bought them a each a drink and talked. Nice guys. Bubba drank a couple of beers, D'von had a white wine. Michael Cole was there as well. Didn't talk much and didn't drink. Mostly just hung out. Had Al Snow jump the rail after a win during the Heat tapings before that RAW so he could give me a high 5 (I kept calling him by his old gimmicks during the intros and he kept laughing). Met Bum Phillips (old Houston Oilers coach) at a recycling plant when I was about 7. He had a long horse trailer full of empty Lone Star beer cans. Met Billy Gibbons (of ZZ Top fame) at a gas station near my house. Yes, he was driving the Eliminator (the '33 Ford coupe). Only athlete to hit on a relative was ex-Astro Pete Harnisch, who used to jokingly propose to my sister (when she did media relations work for the team) at inappropriate times, usually when she was talking to a group of reporters. Oh yeah, and I met Snoop Dogg as well. The semipro football team he sponsors and plays for played my team in '04 during Super Bowl weekend. He showed up late, but stayed after for a few minutes to talk to us. Seemed like a fairly nice guy, and a hell of a lot taller than I though he'd be.

NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 Me, Dangerous_A, his brother and another guy were a few tables away from Magic Johnson and his entourage at Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles in Hollywood. sfaJack 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2008 I was in line behind Robert Arnold, a local TV reporter, in a Wal-Mart photo lab one day. I had no idea who he was but noticed that he was holding a photo of himself holding an Emmy award so I asked him what that was about. He proceeded to give me the whole story about who he was and what he won it for, as if it was the greatest achievement in the history of achievements. Also, back in 2002, my wife worked as a waitress at the Crowne Plaza Hotel downtown. At this particular time, her car wasn't running so I had to pick her up each night. Anyway, while waiting around at the bar for her shift to end late one night, I noticed a couple of guys that looked a lot like Jim Edmonds and Tino Martinez get up from one of her tables and walk out of the restaurant. When I asked her about it later, all my wife could say was, "Yeah, I think Tiffany (her boss) said we had a baseball team staying at the hotel this week." They left her a $20 tip for a couple of drinks and an appetizer.
