Broward83 Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 Tenn losing makes me happy. Now Bruce will entertain offers to go to Indiana. UCLA winning.. meh.
Danville_Wrestling Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 Man, if Slaughter had hit that wide open 3 pointer to cut UCLA's lead to one a few minutes ago who knows where this game would be right now. I appreciate the resolve of WKU because I felt we would just crumble in the second half. Glad U of L eliminated the Volunteers. That game with North Carolina should be very interesting.
Damaramu Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 So I'm really thinking 3 of the 4 #1 seeds make it to the Final Four: Kansas, UNC, and UCLA. And I think Texas makes it on the other side. Then the usual Big XII chokejob happens and we're left with UCLA vs. UNC.
naiwf Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 I'd love nothing more than for Louisville to knock out UNC. I can't listen to any more man love for Hansbrough.
Damaramu Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 No UNC needs to play Kansas. I've been surrounded by KU fans since August and anytime UNC gets the slightest amount of love they launch into a Roy Williams hate-fest. I'd love to see UNC beat KU just to see their heads explode.
Mik Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 Kansas fans still hate Roy Williams? It's one thing to be upset for a little while but when a man goes back to his alma mater and the one school he always said he wanted to coach at - how can you hold a grudge for that long?

SilverPhoenix Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 Kansas fans still hate Roy Williams? It's one thing to be upset for a little while but when a man goes back to his alma mater and the one school he always said he wanted to coach at - how can you hold a grudge for that long? It's fucking Kansas. They have the attitude that they're college basketball royalty, which means they feel they're entitled to the best of everything. It also means that once a coach is hired, he may not leave until he's either fired or he retires. There is no "moving on" from Kansas, and if you do, then you are public enemy number 1, like Roy Williams.
Broward83 Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 So I just found out via 11 news that there's going to be a rally for UT before the games at around 4:30. Now if this is free, I'll probably go then walk back home to catch the tip-off. Anyone else in the Houston area going to the rally or going to the games?
Slayer Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 It's fucking Kansas. They have the attitude that they're college basketball royalty, which means they feel they're entitled to the best of everything. cue f tea
Damaramu Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 So I pissed the KU fans off at work even more. I had no local sports for my center package yesterday so I used the UNC game and I had a pic of Hansbrough grabbing a rebound over someone and the overline said "Unstoppable?" I got some KU fans calling about that one.
Damaramu Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 Holy hell, am I reading that right in the corner of my screen? 60-45 Davidson!?
Mik Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 Curry is shooting the lights out again. Just so much fun to watch.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 Curry's going nuts. 18 points in the first 11 minutes of the second half. I admit, Davidson has probably proven to have the easiest draw of any 10 seed, but that shouldn't diminish how fantastic they've been. Curry's the focal point, but the whole team is on tonight, just dismantling Wisco.
Mik Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 The slight fake-pause-three where the defender ended up in the first row and the acrobatic layup are going on Curry's all-time highlight reel.
CanadianChris Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 Wisconsin never had a chance after about the ten-minute mark. They're not built to erase large deficits in short amounts of time. Curry has outscored Wisco in the second half by himself.
Bored Posted March 29, 2008 Author Report Posted March 29, 2008 Ugh, Stanford had a great start to the second half and pulled within one at about the 12 minute mark then Texas seemingly flipped a switch and has dominated since. Sweet 16 was all I wanted but was at least hoping, and confident, that they would hang with Texas all night but hasn't happened. Edit: At least Davidson's performance will completely over shadow the shit kicking the Cardinal took the last 10 minutes of this game.
CanadianChris Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 How awesome is it that all the Davidson students that the school paid the way to come see the team get to see them in two games this weekend?
Brett Favre Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 Nice to see that. Stanford has the worst set of guards I've seen in my life. That leaves me to one final four team.
2GOLD Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 I don't want to see Davidson eliminated. Stephen Curry is the most interesting thing in the whole damn tournament.
Damaramu Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 I wasn't expecting such a shit kicking from Davidson. And Texas ended up looking very good in victory, that's why I have them going to the Final Four.
Broward83 Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 I was worried about the Stanford game. Two huge guys in the middle that could dominate at any point they chose against our small lineup. I was surprised to see us win by 20 and honestly thought we would've collapsed after they came to within one, but Barnes got our guys back in order and we finished strong. Next up.. I don't know if I'd rather see us against Memphis or Mich. St. As a student going to UH, I'd like to see Memphis lose either tonight or Sunday.
Danville_Wrestling Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 How awesome is it that all the Davidson students that the school paid the way to come see the team get to see them in two games this weekend? That's pretty awesome. I have some friends who go to Davidson and they took up the offer to go. From what they've told me they've been having a blast. My chances of winning my bracket pool went up after this because it sorta makes up for having USC make the Elite Eight out of bottom of Kansas's bracket. Most of the people in my pool had Wisconsin in the Elite 8 versus Kansas so no true harm done.
devo Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 Spartans are just getting embarrassed here. This is hard to watch.
MFer Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 Talk about getting your soul taken from you...I know Memphis is the better team but 30 points better? Clearly they came out with something to prove. And Villanova's getting beat pretty bad as well (somewhat expected though).
Damaramu Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 Well, Davidson looked good and the guys on CBS were pumping them up to have a shot against Kansas but....I just don't see it. Maybe it's my own selfishness wanting to see KU lose to UNC, but I really think KU is too good for Davidson. As for the other bracket, I thought Texas would go to the Final Four but damn, Memphis looked good. All four No. 1's in the Final Four? It looks likely. I think UNC has the toughest test though.
naiwf Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 I can only hope Louisville/UNC is more competitive than this UCLA beatdown was.
Damaramu Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 Well I got one of my national title game teams to the Final Four. Now let's see what else happens. The only No. 1 seed I don't have in the Final Four is Memphis.
Mik Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 I don't think I can handle another Elite 8 for the Heels like last year.
