haVoc 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2008 Late Night Falls for Fallon By Gina Serpe Fri Apr 25, 1:26 AM PDT How's this for a weekend update: Jimmy Fallon's succession of Conan O'Brien's late-night throne looks to be a done deal. While Fallon has been the front-runner (and pretty much the only one—apologies, Carson Daly) to succeed the flame-haired funnyman in the post-Tonight Show slot come 2009, NBC has stayed mum on who O'Brien's late-night heir-apparent would be. But while the Peacock remains gagged, both the Hollywood Reporter and Variety are reporting that Fallon has already signed on the dotted line. The network itself has yet to comment and will likely wait to confirm the news at their upfront presentation in New York May 12. As he did with O'Brien, Fallon's former Saturday Night Live boss Lorne Michaels will produce his newest protégé's late-night show. Fallon isn't a complete neophyte, having served as guest host for CBS' Late Show with David Letterman back in 2003. The switch is expected to take place in early 2009, when O'Brien will take over Tonight for a reluctantly departing Jay Leno Copyright © 2008 E! Online, Inc. All rights reserved. Boner Kawanger 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2008 So instead of getting laughs based on how bad his monologue jokes are, he'll just laugh at them until people laugh at his laughing. Brilliant.

cd213 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2008 This isn't a bad choice. You are correct, this isn't a bad choice, this is a HORRIBLE choice!!!! The man has very little to no talent. He is just a bad wanna be Adam Sandler. I hate this guy so much. I turn off movies when and TV shows when I see that he has anything to do with it, unless it was a snuff movie where he is the one getting killed!

The Niggardly King 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2008 Any news to rumors that it was supposed to be Jack Black? I've heard he was the set pick, but he only wanted to do a fourth of the Conan schedule while continuing to make films.
BruteSquad_BRODY 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2008 Craig Ferguson's getting better, I'll just watch him. Though Fallon will be more mediocre than actively horrible. Craig was on about a month ago talking about leaving late night in a short window of time. he said he didn't want to over stay his welcome or something. i don't recall how long he said though. I like him alot too.
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2008 Yeah I kind of figured as much after he said he wasn't going to try for Letterman's job after he retires. That's too bad because while Conan is probably the funniest late night host, Ferguson is IMO the most talented. It's good that he'll be getting some more exposure after Conan leaves because if the box office reciepts for Taxi and Fever Pitch are any indictation than I don't see many people staying with NBC at the 12:30 slot after Conan move up. Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2008 this reminds me of how i need to go see a conan taping before he leaves NY behind. as far as fallon, good luck to him.. I don't care too much, cuz the only talk show I watch regulary is Kimmel, and Conan during the commercials. but most of the time i work in the morning so I can only tape one show and its kimmels. I need a dual tuning dvr stat. I still don't know how Conan will adapt to the tonight show, I hope they don't tame him too much.
