CanadianChris Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25461301/ I got 17/20. 16/20 is supposedly the bare minimum to qualify for citizenship.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 I got 19/20, missed the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court
Perfxion Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 18 of 20. I got the opening lines of the Constitution wrong, and how many amendments are attached to the Constitution. Yay, I are American now.
MDH257 Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 19/20 - The one I got wrong was "Which was not an original state?". I should have gotten that one right, but it balanced out because I guessed correctly on "Which is not a federal power?".
Dandy Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 I have taken this test before so I got a 20/20. It was a Facebook app that I no longer have, but I think I got 19/20 the first time. I am glad that the test is at least this difficult (to those coming into the country).
MarvinisaLunatic Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 I think question 21 should be "Sing the National Anthem"
Red Baron Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 60% But really, why would I want to become an American anyways?
King Kamala Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 18/20 Got the Chief Justice and the opening lines of the constitution wrong. Drats.
Maztinho Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 Heh bearly made it. Good thing I was born here.
godthedog Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 how did people get the chief justice wrong, we just got a new one.
treble Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 18/20. Got when the Constitution was written and 2nd in line for the Presidency wrong.
King Kamala Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 I was confusing Samuel Alito and Roberts. I knew it was one of the two semi-new guys, I just picked the wrong one.
Der Kommissar Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 I had 18/20. I would have had 19/20 had I not changed my answer to the Constitutional Amendments question. I also missed the Senator question. Ah well. It was still pretty easy.
MFer Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 18/20...forgot about the Senate deal and I did have the right Chief Justice at first but I changed the answer.
CanadianChris Posted July 3, 2008 Author Report Posted July 3, 2008 I missed the opening words of the Constitution (which I knew, but talked myself out of), the President during WWI (again, knew it but talked myself out of it) and the Chief Justice (no idea).
Copper Feel Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 Haha, you have to know the answers to those questions in order to live in America? Pointless.
bob_barron Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 Haha, you have to know the answers to those questions in order to live in America? Pointless. No, it's to obtain an American citizenship
Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 I got 19/20. I'm sort of surprised. I got the date wrong for the Constitution.
Jingus Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 17/20. I wasn't paying attention and misread one, didn't know the new supreme justice, and for some reason mixed up the opening words of the Declaration and the Constitution. I am glad that the test is at least this difficult (to those coming into the country). Actually it's harder. The real test doesn't have multiple choice, you've gotta really know the answer. Hell, it used to be a lot harder than this, I think at one point you had to name every single President in history, in chronological order. Legal immigration to this country is infamous for being needlessly complicated and taking way too damn long. how did people get the chief justice wrong, we just got a new one. Because I don't listen to the news anymore and generally don't give a shit about politics.
bob_barron Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 I think at one point you had to name every single President in history Maybe back in the day but in government class we took the citizenship test, and it was nothing like that. I got an almost perfect score on that one
Twisted Intestine Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 I scored 30%! Woohoo! Do they use different questions, or the same ones for every test? Because if they're the same, I can easily memorize 20 answers to become a US citizen.
Perfxion Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 batch of 100 questions, and any 20 could be on the test.
Nighthawk Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 I only missed how many years a senator is elected for, which makes sense because I don't vote.
Cuban Linx Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 I only got 6 correct, good thing i'm not planning on becoming a US citizen anytime soon.
Ted the Poster Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 18/20. Maybe I should watch the incentive video again. "America: The happiness of your new world... forever!"
Jingus Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 A question to all the non-Americans on here. When someone immigrates to your country, do they have to take any tests like this? Just wondering if we're the only Super-Patriots in this regard.
Copper Feel Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 There's certainly nothing like this in Britain, thank God.
Gary Floyd Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 I got a 12/20. I don't know if I should be ashamed or not.
Jingus Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 There's certainly nothing like this in Britain, thank God. yet ironically in American high school they tend to teach more about English history than any other foreign country
