Jaxxson Mayhem Posted October 4, 2008 Author Report Posted October 4, 2008 LAS VEGAS -- O.J. Simpson has been found guilty on all charges in the alleged gunpoint robbery of two sports memorabilia dealers in a Las Vegas casino hotel room more than a year ago. The 61-year-old former football star faces a prison sentence of five years to life. A weary and somber Simpson released a heavy sigh as the charges were read in rapid fire by the clerk in Clark County District Court. He was immediately taken into custody. The verdict comes 13 years to the day after Simpson was acquitted of killing his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman, in Los Angeles. Co-defendant Clarence "C.J." Stewart also was found guilty on all charges and taken into custody. Simpson and co-defendant Clarence "C.J." Stewart were tried on 12 criminal charges. The jury of nine women and three men deliberated more than 13 hours. Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/news/story?id=3624079
bob_barron Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 I was hoping he'd get off again. Guy never had a chance.
JaMarcus Russell's #1 Caucasian Fan Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 Well, that's karma for ya.
JimmyHendricks Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 What a shame. All he was doing was searching for the real killers. He was CERTAIN they were hiding in that casino. Now, look what happens to the Juice, simply just because he was trying to avenge his wife's brutal death. Sad, so sad.
milliondollarchamp Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 I can't believe it, 13 years later... To the DAY! Talk about unlucky 13; kinda spooky. Cochrane is dead and without him OJ's headed off to prison. Now all we need is Michael Jackson to finally get caught.
Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 Does anyone know how long he could be in jail?
death_by_burrito Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 I'm hearing on ESPN that the max. sentence is life. Don't know if it's a possibility, but it would be fitting for him.
Sideburnious Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 They're just convicting him because they think he's guilty of a previous crime. He should get time spent and then released. Free the juice! Fight whitey!
CBright7831 Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 This calls for a clip from the Naked Gun series: "NORDBERG!"
jimmy no nose Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 I'm not the biggest fan of George Bush's 8 years in office, but he can completely redeem himself in my book if as his last move in office he grants OJ a full pardon. What does he have to lose at this point?
Jaxxson Mayhem Posted October 4, 2008 Author Report Posted October 4, 2008 Does anyone know how long he could be in jail? 5 years to life.
snuffbox Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 Give him rehab or something. Jail's just not the answer.
bob_barron Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 Does anyone know how long he could be in jail? 5 years to life. The minimum sentencing for kidnapping is 15 years

As was said, the guy had no chance.
milliondollarchamp Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 OJ has to be one of the dumbest people alive. Dude literally gets away with murder, then gets in trouble with the law multiple times, tries his own reality show, writes a book called "If I Did It", and commits armed robbery. He needs to be locked up just for being so stupid.
At Home Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 He only partially got away with murder; he lost the civil suit.
bob_barron Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 Given that he barely (if it at all) paid them anything, and moved to Florida so they couldn't take his stuff, he got away with it. I always thought the civil suit was such BS
Maztinho Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 Are you a fan of The Juice, Bob? Just his stances on cheating white women.

I always thought the civil suit was such BS Im guessing if he goes away for life, they can get his stuff? Otherwise, they wont ever get a dime off him.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 This is just like Al Capone. Awesome.
JaMarcus Russell's #1 Caucasian Fan Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 Yeah, fuck the Goldmans for getting some monetary justice against the guy who killed their son. Greedy bastards!
MFer Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 This is just like Al Capone. Awesome. Exactly what I was thinking too.
bob_barron Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 Yeah, fuck the Goldmans for getting some monetary justice against the guy who killed their son. Greedy bastards! I'm against a bullshit double jeopardy in the justice system. I don't see how you can be found liable for something that you were acquitted on. I just like that OJ got away with it, and in every interview he did managed to almost admit he did it. His interview he did with Katie Couric in 2004 where he imitated Fred Goldman was hilarious.
JaMarcus Russell's #1 Caucasian Fan Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 The criminal justice system and civil justice system are entirely different animals though. Even though OJ was acquitted for double murder, that doesn't mean he couldn't be sued for wrongful death for money. This is not a case of double jeopary, because OJ was not charged with the same crime. He was held liable for Nicole and Ron's death. Suing OJ in civil court is not a "bullshit double jeopary" as you put it. As for being happy he got away with is quite sad. Two people died for no reason, you know.
bob_barron Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 You're right, but I just think it's wrong that a guy can be acquited of a crme and then be found liable for it. It just doesn't seem right, and I think it's a flaw of our legal system.
Chazz Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 So was a jury acquitting an obviously guilty man because of his color. It took a while, but O.J.'s karma finally came back to smack him in the face.
