Youth N Asia Posted November 16, 2008 Report Posted November 16, 2008 So Flagg has well missed his pick, eh
DrVenkman PhD Posted November 16, 2008 Report Posted November 16, 2008 By my math, Gosunkugi has as well. Weekends can get like that, I suppose. Flagg went on the clock at 9:10 pm (eastern, of course), which means Gosunkugi would have gone on the clock at 5:10 am... which means Spike is 2 hours from also being on the clock!
BlackFlagg Posted November 16, 2008 Report Posted November 16, 2008 d'oh, didn't realize I was up, then I shall take.... Blue Haired Lawyer
Mecha Mummy Posted November 16, 2008 Report Posted November 16, 2008 Crap, last I checked I was still waiting for Flagg to go, like, yesterday. Well, anyway, I was going to pick up on the "awesome guest star" theme of this round, but then Flagg reminded me of a pick I'd been meaning to make due to his pick of a recurring character who's been on the show forever and has yet to be given an actual real name. So, my sixth pick is... Old Jewish Man "The Old Grey Mare, she ain't what she used to be/ain't what she used to be/ain't what she used to be..."
TheFranchise Posted November 16, 2008 Report Posted November 16, 2008 That guys givin' it away for free!
King Kamala Posted November 16, 2008 Report Posted November 16, 2008 d'oh, didn't realize I was up, then I shall take.... Blue Haired Lawyer Grampa: Goodnight, Mrs. Bouvier. Wherever you are... Blue Haired Lawyer: Sir, I represent the estate of Jimmy Durante. I have a court order demanding an immediate halt to this unauthorized imitation. Boys? (Goons yank the fedora off Grampa's head and stomp on it) Grampa: Would it be alright with you if I just laid down in the street and died? Blue Haired Lawyer:...Yes. That would be acceptable.
Boner Kawanger Posted November 16, 2008 Report Posted November 16, 2008 Not to mention, earlier in that episode, he was representing the estate of Charles Chaplin and served Grampa with a cease and desist for making his potatoes into dancers.
BlackFlagg Posted November 16, 2008 Report Posted November 16, 2008 thanks for the quote, was not awake enough to think when i picked, ironically I'm watching that ep right now
Scroby Posted November 16, 2008 Report Posted November 16, 2008 Peter Frampton Roadie: [after Homer launches an inflated pig from a cannon] "Oh no, Peter Frampton's gonna be pissed." Peter Frampton: "You're damn right I'll be pissed, I bought that pig at Pink Floyd's yard sale!"
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted November 16, 2008 Report Posted November 16, 2008 For my next pick, I choose Ken Griffey Jr.
Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 There's a party in my mouth and everyone is invited.
Scroby Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 I think Hollywood got skipped by accident. It should now be Cuban Linx's turn.
DrVenkman PhD Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 He wasn't skipped, he was OTC. It's easy for that to happen when the picks expire in the early morning hours.
Scroby Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 Ah ok, I just got a bit confused. I'm all squared away then.
Mecha Mummy Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 Peter Frampton Roadie: [after Homer launches an inflated pig from a cannon] "Oh no, Peter Frampton's gonna be pissed." Peter Frampton: "You're damn right I'll be pissed, I bought that pig at Pink Floyd's yard sale!" Oh man, I just watched that episode last night and I was seriously considering taking him. Well played, he was by far the best guest star of that entire episode.
CanadianGuitarist Posted November 17, 2008 Author Report Posted November 17, 2008 Everything looks in order from what I've seen, but I'll make it all official between now and kickoff.
CanadianGuitarist Posted November 17, 2008 Author Report Posted November 17, 2008 Anyone remember that HIMYM in which Alyson Hanigan was slap-bet commissioner, with instructions to "Take the well-being of the bet above all else?" That's me with this draft. I gladly would fuck the dog on the couch after work with a beer in each hand and a remote at my feet (someone should ask me about that sometime), but here I am, piecing together the left-over weekend mess - and I feel though I'm doing right.
Scroby Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 Should we hold off on picking any more drafts until you're all set and ready to go? Do you need any extra help?
Cuban Linx Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 "Hey Clinton, get back to work!" "Make me!" Bill Clinton
Cuban Linx Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 Take this object, but beware, it carries a terrible curse. That's bad. But it comes with a free Frogurt! That's good! The Frogurt is also cursed. That's bad. But you get your choice of topping! That's good! The topping contains Potassium Benzoate. ... That's bad. Can i go now? House of Evil Owner
Scroby Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 Joey Ramone Smithers: Here are several fine young men who I'm sure are going to go far. Ladies and gentlemen, the Ramones. Mr. Burns: Ah, these minstrels will soothe my jangled nerves. Joey Ramone: I'd just like to say this gig sucks! Johnny Ramone: Hey, up yours, Springfield! Joey Ramone: One, two, three, four! [the Ramones start playing a tune and singing "Happy Birthday"] Joey Ramone: Happy birthday to you! Johnny Ramone, Christopher Ward: Happy birthday! Joey Ramone: Happy birthday to you! Johnny Ramone, Christopher Ward: Happy birthday! Joey Ramone: Happy birthday, Burnsey! Happy birthday... Joey Ramone, Johnny Ramone, Christopher Ward: ...to you! Christopher Ward: Go to hell, you old bastard! Marky Ramone: Hey, I think they liked us. Mr. Burns: Have the Rolling Stones killed. Smithers: But sir, those aren't the... Mr. Burns: Do as I say! (A friend recommend I picked up Joey Ramone. I agreed.)
Nighthawk Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 I thought of picking a Ramone... problem is, CJ's "Go to hell you old bastard." is the funniest line by far... but he's not even an original member.
BlackFlagg Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 Take this object, but beware, it carries a terrible curse. That's bad. But it comes with a free Frogurt! That's good! The Frogurt is also cursed. That's bad. But you get your choice of topping! That's good! The topping contains Potassium Benzoate. ... That's bad. Can i go now? House of Evil Owner damn he was next on my list, nice grab
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 My next pick is actually part of a duo that I would like, but since I can't pick both of them, I'll just got with him. Special Agent Fox Mulder
CanadianGuitarist Posted November 17, 2008 Author Report Posted November 17, 2008 Should we hold off on picking any more drafts until you're all set and ready to go? Do you need any extra help? No, no. Provided the PM's are kept up, the draft is pretty well running itself at this late stage. Board update is imminent.
Mecha Mummy Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 Man, I knew I should have gotten on drafting Mulder when I could. Ah, well, this narrows it down to my next awesome guest star pick. He didn't have a whole lot of quoteworthy lines, but it was one of the most fantastic bits of guest star casting the show ever did, and fuck it, it's Johnny Cash, man. So, in your face, Space Coyote!
CanadianGuitarist Posted November 17, 2008 Author Report Posted November 17, 2008 Board is updated and things are sensible again. PLEASE keep on top of the PM's. Notice I've got the current draftor and the on-deck atop the master board. Refer to that as much as possible.
Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 I know Al didn't have a Simpsons Ozzie Smith pic and I finally got my DVD player on my computer to work again, so here's this:
TheFranchise Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 Guys, I go out every Monday, and since there's only about 4 picks or so left til I go, I won't be back for about 14 hours today.. please go ahead and skip me if it comes to me, since it's a Raw day, I suspect many guys would be online and the draft could keep moving. I'll make my pick up when i'm back, if in fact i've been passed.
