Czech please! Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 Yeah, why not. It's just as artificial and arbitrary as "Nick Punto: Team Italy." I wanna watch Team Hutu vs Team Tutsi. "Aaaaand the pitch, Umtumbe's going for second here he iiiiiiiiiis OUT at second, overslid the bag. Umpire Randy Marsh having a word with Umtumbe here aaaaaaaand there's the machete, sending Marsh's head rolling into shallow right."
bob_barron Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 U-S-A! U-S-A-! Get off your fat fuck of an ass and go do something with your life? Hey, I agree with you!
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 Czech, Jerry Coleman beat you to that call. "(Dave) Winfield goes back to the wall, he hits his head on the wall and it rolls off! It's rolling all the way back to second base. This is a terrible thing for the Padres."
devo Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 This is a pretty great game. I'm surprised there's been no discussion.
Smues Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 I think it's cool how energetic the crowd is despite this game being held in America without team USA being involved. And to the 9th it goes with Japan up 3-2.
devo Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 Tied at three in the bottom of the ninth after a two-out RBI single. This is intense.
Kahran Ramsus Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 Korea ties it with one out left in the game. EDIT: Going to extras.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 What...they don't have intentional walks in Korea? They deserved what they got there.
Smues Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 And Japan wins 5-3 in 10 inning. Great game to cap off the classic.
Hitler Cubano Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 See, what'd I tell you guys? Told ya the Japanese were superior to the Koreans.
Star Ocean 3 Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 As the only member of this panel who actually went to the game...it was awesome. VERY loud. Those Asians just did not stop cheering for the entire game. Hearing all the chants and stuff was great.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 This is a pretty great game. I'm surprised there's been no discussion. I just couldn't stay awake. It's been a rough week.
Smues Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 As the only member of this panel who actually went to the game...it was awesome. VERY loud. Those Asians just did not stop cheering for the entire game. Hearing all the chants and stuff was great. It came across well on television. It was kind of like watching a soccer game in a country where they care about the sport, except I was interested in the on-field product as well.
tekcop Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 I don't know if this was on TV, but while I was listening to the first half of the game on ESPN radio at work, Bud Selig came into the booth and discussed some of the tournaments problems. He specifically mentioned getting rid of the useless seeding games. I think that'll help the tournament overall.
Dobbs 3K Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 Yeah, that was on TV. Selig made it clear there would be further changes down the line.
